No idea Poncho on the Vampire stuff. I've never done a Vampire play through other than the very beginning part to see what ol' Harkon does if one chooses to be bitten. Right after I turned I deleted that save. Some day I'll get around to doing a play through as a vampy and a werewolf, but I'll have to really be in the mood!

If the items are deadric in origin then I would think they'd qualify and I guess would be a bonus for those that want to get transformed (at least long enough to get those quests done). Need a weigh in from Kane et al.

Ingame dialogue as I remember it (cba looking it up right now, just finished a 10 hour shift) suggests that legend has it they were a gift from Molag, but Harkon dismissed this idea....insinuation being he didn't like the idea that he wasn't Molag Bal's favourite chew toy and thus didn't get all the fancy gizmos.

Only asking because i'm wondering how tenuous the link to daedra is that we're establishing. An alternative example being the mythic dawn robes....(almost) unique items belonging to a cult of daedra worshippers, but not necessarily an artifact in themself. I would be happy for complete ignore (due to demanding a certain guild path) or for them to be considered "related items" like the books, etc.

Edit: related to Mythic Dawn robes....Vaermina robes?

That's why we have discussions before... to (try) and prevent problems during.

I will no doubt at least do enough of Companions to become a werewolf... mostly for the immunity... and well why not? Need something to help with lvl'ing...

Now - keep firmly in mind, I don't play the competition game. But I'd think it would be fair to only key on actual daedric artifacts for mega-points. Stuff like the "extraneous" robes, rings, etc. should get minor "stuff" points. Unless there's info on the wikis about daedra being involved in the "minor" items as to forging or adding enchants etc. (which I have no clue about - the only thing I do with daedra in-game is run through the quest lines to grab their artis for display in the museum.... And not even that if it's Bal, Namira, Boethiah.... Those artis I just console in - the replicas that is - to fill the slots).

I've been trying to make up my mind whether I'm going to join into this comp or not, and watching the discussion with interest. I've made a decision and changed it half a dozen times, because it does look like fun...

Here's the thing though. I really like Nothing. Think of how many competitions there've been that Ive joined in, and let me tell you this. Almost every one of those competitions meant the death of a non-competition character I was playing at the time.

Each time, I'd tell myself "After the competition, I'll come back to this character!" but I never did. Not even once. That's because by the time the competition was over, I no longer felt "connected" to that original character, and I didn't remember them well enough to pick up where I left off. Sure, I could take notes, and read about where they were, but it just wasn't the same, so I'd wipe the saves and start over.... and then along comes another competition a month or two later.

So, I'm thinking I'm not going to join the competition this time, and perhaps... perhaps I'll never play DiD again, because I'm truly unhappy over the situation. Been there, done that, for thousands of freakin' hours, and I have Nothing to show for it... so I'm going to keep her. :)

It will be sad not having you in the competition, but I understand completely.

*sad panda* will miss you playin' the comp Neil. You always bring the wild and crazy sitches to the mix!

I'd like to think of a way for you to keep playing Nothing in FO4 and play Whosthatgirl in the Skyrim comp, but if you're like me sometimes one needs to be completely focused and switching back-and-forth just doesn't work.

Very glad you're keeping Nothing! :D

I can see it both ways, sorta like a chameleon does. I've rarely had that problem, because I always have more than one character going at a time.

Sometimes a character does go stale, if I've been away too long, but I think that's an indication that I had really already finished their story, and was just hanging on out of inertia.

But my "real" characters, who are truly alive to me...I can go back to them months later, and rejoin their stories. ...Assuming that I haven't messed up a mod they depended on...

But our playing styles, and the way we relate to our characters, is a very individual thing, and I'd hate to encourage anything that would result in losing a loved character.

Or, to put it another way...

Nothing ventured, Nothing gained.

I would love to play another competition, but as you can see, i have little time for gaming right now. 2-3 hours/week is the most i can cop out. I doubt i could pull anywhere near 40 hours in the limited time.
It took me over 5 months to gather 90 hours on my Trial character.

A.D. I to am lucky to pull time... 5 hrs in the last month, is what I have spent in gaming...mostly my choice, is rather write or bead... but some is just lack of time. It's understandable.

I'd love to be apart of the competition and, most likely, host it. Unfortunately, I've been sick as of late and just... I can barely think straight. But, I can try to host it and help with making the comp, if ya'll want.
