I had that happen, to an RP character but leaving the area, "Waiting" a day and then returning worked.

Well, it's a moot point.

RIP Brynhildr Orkesdottir, who fell in combat with two ice wolves and two ice wraiths, near Rimerock Burrow.

I will be restarting with one of my alternate characters.

Glargg, been there with that exact scenario. What I have found is it will "fix" itself if you give the companions a visit on your way to Whiterun that are fighting the giant. Once that dialog is done let them walk into the city. Their activation of the gate seems to fix the guards coming out and everything proceeds normally.

Ah bummer. R.I.P. Bynhildr

Sorry about Brynhildr, glargg. And that's the one reason I still prefer Skyrim Unbound to LAL: because if you're really not ever wanting to do the MQ on a character, or not until really late in a playthrough for some reason, you can't go anywhere near the cell Helgen's in. Sometimes it's pretty hard to keep that in mind....

I really hate ice wratihs because they are so hard to hit... Nagas are worse, but at least they don't usually do a lot of cold damage.

Iriana almost died to an Ice Wraith herself, the other night. She got lucky and had a potion of frost resist, but it still nearly killed her.

She ran from the next two that she saw. :bolt:

It's between her and a Breton Conjurer-Archer named Sheila Tack. :)

Well that was unfortunate....Indy has met his demise at the fangs of a frostbite spider following a battle with 2 separate packs of 6 wolves. The wolves themselves were no problem, each had 22 health and were easily dispatched but the spider had 120 health (floating healthbars gives exact numbers) and didn't seem to take much damage at all from Indy's sword or flames while dishing out large amounts (plus poison) itself. (He was level 7 with every level up into health plus the blessing of Arkay)

Before his untimely end Indy had made short work of a few bandit encampments, including knifepoint ridge...only one that had made him pause for thought was the knifepoint chief but a little distance and flames sorted that problem out. He was a magnificent sight slaughtering his way through the bandits in full Bonemold Armour with a steel sword and shield.

No points gained/no artifacts/no books

I am really trying not to switch to a super powered stealth archer build....

Next attempt:

Lord Belchance
Breton
Male

Skills:
Alteration
Conjuration
Destruction
Restoration
Smithing
Enchanting

RIP Indy. Added him to the graveyard. Damn spiders are hard to kill.

Added Belchance to the competition. I hope everything goes well with him :)

I have decided to write Belchance's adventures out as diary entries, as others have done. The upshot of this is I may choose to keep him going for a while post competition or post death, whichever comes first but if he dies i'll try to run another attempt at the competition.

Anyone who remembers my brief write-outs from BethSoft will recall they weren't really all that brief...I have a tendency to waffle on, so Belchance does too. So far he has 1 and half sides of A4 as his first day's diary entry....I'll type it up tomorrow.

In brief, so far he's been embarrassed, insulted and roped into dangerous activity and he hasn't even been in skyrim for a full day.

For everyone that wants to write their characters story/progress, you can do it ingame with Take Notes. As far as I know, it's only available for regular, old Skyrim. Not sure if it works with SE.
