I swear we had a discussion about it - but I can't find it tonight. Gah. I hate it. But it is what it is - and its what we'll get from now on (okay, yeah - right now you can still use the "old format" - but from what I understand, in the next couple of months, that's going away). Really - I'd bet 80+% of users will still do their best to log in to the "old format". Which should tell Robin something, aye? I'd also bet that ain't happ'nin - because of all the money he spent on developing the "new crap version". *sigh* So I changed my bookmarks over. It took WAY too long to figure that out. See.... I don't WANT all those crap tiles with graphics from th mod. SPARE ME. I want a nice tidy list of links. Period. So - yeah. You can get that. If you're clever enough to figure out how to find the actual link to what you want.... If - like me - all you want is a list of links to the new today files, plus the edited today files: https://rd.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/newtoday/ Pretty much just the way it always was - except of course it takes up the ENTIRE browser viewport.... |

And.... almost the worst thing - because I have crap internet, loading any page with the new look locks up firefox for a couple of minutes - and prevents any other sites I'm loading at the same time from opening. *SIGH* |

I still don't understand why Nexus would want to look "mobile-style." The mods on the site are for PC, and the most popular downloads are via the Mod Manager, which is their default download option for any game mods that work with the NMM. It's a mystery to me. |

Eh.... it's really the whole phone-oriented generation. Odd thing is, the phone generation doesn't play PC games. So I don't honestly have a clue what wild hair Robin is.... Um.... Well.... I could post the rest of it. But.... well.... guess I'm not going there. |

I have a more stoic view of it all. That is, the more successful a thing is, the better the design, whether you're talking a razor blade, a flavor of candy, or a web site, the more likely it is that somebody will pop up and want to change it for the stated purpose of making it better. The reality is, all they want to do is try to keep the product fresh while putting a personal stamp (making their mark) on the product itself. So, I am resigned to fact that the sites I like will undergo periodic changes that I may not like, and the world will go on changing with or without my approval. The interesting thing is that when these changes are successful, there is always somebody jumping up to take credit, and when they fail, it's "the economy stupid" or something like that. There are three factors in this world that remain a constant. Death, taxes, and the simple fact that people (as a species) are full of shit. |

If I were designing a site for PC users, I'd want to provide as much info as could be comfortably read on a 1920x1080 screen, since that's the "standard." The idea is to convey information, and minimize mouse-maneuvering. Pretty much the opposite of making big blocky colorful thumbnail pictures. Oh, well, it's fashion. This, too, shall pass. |

Not a fan. There was nothing wrong with it before, other than the wonky tracking system. |

So - the main problem with opening LotD's page is that there are over 300 images in the slideshow! So that's what the huge lockup is. Now to figure out how to block the images somehow.... |

glargg nailed it. You need a site that's designed for its users - PC players who want to download mods to their PC, and so are using their PC to do it. Nobody is using another platform to do anything but kick the tyres, or ogle the skimpy outfits. Since they support a lot of games, there may well be a number of them that run on other platforms, so those (only) could have a more tailored user experience. Just don't inflict it on everyone else. |

I think I'm going to have to figure out how to use Stylish on nexus - which means figuring out how to write a style myself. There isn't one so far to get rid of all the new crap.... but for now, I'm just going to use the old version. |
