I figured out (with the help of this tutorial) how to change what body slot number something uses! Now, I tried doing this before, but I didn't have much luck because nifskope is ANYTHING but user-friendly. The linked tutorial has enough info about nifskope that I got it figured out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the images linked on the tut page aren't around any more, but I managed without.... nifskope? It's the app that you use to do stuff with meshes - like if you create armor etc. Now - I don't "make" things.... but I'm glad to know how to tweak body slots! |

Yeah, I wouldn't have bet on ever needing it.... but various times I've wanted to reset a slot something uses so it works better with something else I want to use (generally when both items use the same slot of course....) - and I finally found a "real tutorial" that explained it well enough for me to "get". FavoredSoul (the tut author) does those GREAT weapons.... |

NIfskope is a great tool if you really want to have things your way. I used it mostly to do retextures... and small alterations. You can also use it to do things like add a mesh to a mesh. For instance, in FONV, I was feeling a bit creative, so I stuck one of those little hula girl dolls on the shoulder of my favorite armor... That way, I was never alone, eh? Oh, and you know how odd it is that furniture in old abandoned dungeons and such is usually in such good condition? I made a modder's resource for Morrowind using Nifskope that had broken and dusty chairs, beds with broken frames, barrels with missing slats, and that sort of thing. See, I couldn't use Blender because I was blind at the time. No matter what theme I used, there was always a huge secition of Blender's interface I couldn't see, so I never learned how to use it. |

I wanted to use Blender so very badly... it was almost a physical pain when I found that I couldn't. I'm a very creative person, and creating meshes is... well, it's an art form, eh? Do you remember Kagz? He was a modder and graphical artist back in the day, and I worked with him on a project or two. He made great horses... (He made the horse and wagon meshes for my "gypsy caravan" mod) but he eventually left because he couldn't get credit for his work. People would rip off his stuff, and give him no credit when they released it as their own mod. Last I heard his health wasn't good, and that's been years ago. |

I remember the name. Don't think I ever interacted with him, but yeah I do remember that there were a bunch of people who didn't seem to understand that you really need to give credit where it's due. |

I love Favored Souls weapons and stuff... I am.. super picky when it comes to the look's of things.. atm I can't get my "followers" to look exactly right when I compare pictures, they look.. every so slightly off. in the CK.. I have not yet mastered that. .so Nifscope hasn't been tried yet. |
