I think this is close to the original.. as I don't have the piece parts of it, I have to do it all from scratch.. or I did, now I have the parts!

Well, I believe I'll just do that. I'll sketch some ideas tonight, but we have to head to town again in the morning. Might be a couple of days.

It's going to be a fast one - hit Costco at 10:30, hit the liquor store at 11, then head for home. Still, I won't be happy - I HATE having to go to St George. I wanted a Costco in Mesquite - because then even though it's a longer drive, we could buy liquor there.

*SIGH*

Oboy.... well gosh - that's my winter wallpaper from now on.... and fits pretty well with what I've got going:

WORLDS ENOUGH.... AND TIME

In our culture, it’s a given that while we might know that advanced species exist, and we’ve had occasion to meet them - well, we’d just rather.... live our own ways, the ways from ancient. So, I pilot this ship - the “Tides of Palpanna” - under our captain Gevramor. And as we ply the seas I look up and wonder at the panoply spread over us in the sky-dome above.

Now, see there? That’s a near sister to our Velinna. We call her Alamaha - and all that blue surely must be ocean, with the green being land, yes? And I wonder.... are there people on the sister, and do they ply the seas in ships?

Oh, and there’s the gold serpent - not sure about him, what he might be or do. But it’s a beauty, for true! And that bright oh-so-bright pale yellow splotch - it.... pulses. I have to admit that I spend perhaps too much time staring at the night sky. The captain has reprimanded me for doing so.... several times. But it’s a - wonder - I never get beyond.

We’re bound for Genishmalna - the main port and largest settlement (the outsiders call it a “city”) on the northmost land. We sail there only in the warm - because in the cold, the ice means death to both ship and men. The Genishmen are usually fair starved when we first make way there in the early bright of bloom - since they’ve had nothing fresh to eat nor to drink, and nothing new to read nor to wear since the last days of leaf-fall - near nine moons back now. They pay and well, for they spend the entirety of the cold down in their mines where it’s marginally warmer than above; so they have much of ores and gems to trade - and for those we have market in other ports, for true!

Though the trip had been calm for the most part, I’ve been feeling some - oddness. The sea, so calm for so many days out of berth at Nekinna, was now roiling as if some great beast was thrashing about. And with that thrashing, we were in trouble - because I was off-shift, and the journeyman Kildantha was at helm. She was good, but not as good as I am - and she didn’t know about the gyre....

So - here we are. The gyre to port, and nowhere to go....

Well, it's not at all unusual for a pic to start my imagination churning. And - those - well, you know, I rather think you have unexplored depths when it comes to graphics.....

It's funny - I can see paintings - in oil - in my mind, but I have NO ability to paint them. I can cross-stitch them.... and I can write them.

Each person has her own ability to "put to canvas" her imagination. For some, it's oils. For others, it's cross-stitch - and for you, it seems to be digital graphics.

It's always good to find you have a talent, no matter which direction it chooses.

Yes it is...

I tried cross-stitch once.. I don't think Grama was ever able to un-knot the thread <sigh>

Edit: G'nite Sis.. have as good a trip into town as you can... my eye's are watering.. so it's time for bed!
