I'm up..sore throat, runny nose and all.. Neil, what I think you have to do is, Save at your level 10 two times... FT to the INN.. save two times.. then FT back to the nearest place ( save once) and I know not every place has a FT marker. You now actually have 5 saves. On dying, your only going to the Inn.. but you have the other two just in case. On reaching the Inn after death, make sure you save once, this save might be over wtitten, the other others should be fine. When you die you will have to delete all the saves that aren't in line with the lvl 10 saves... you can keep them, but make sure you have a save after all of them, otherwise the game strat's saving from your last point and will over ride everything. This is what got me into trouble with DAO.. I was used to Skyrim's save system... |

Okey Dokey Bloss! Terrible things have been happening to Velvette since I updated her just a short while ago. After going to High Hrothgar, she took out old Wyndelius in Shroud Hearth Barrow, and then went to the Imperial camp to sell off her loot. After talking to the Quartermaster, she went over the nearby hill to check on Bthalft. She had seen a FLame Warrior headed that way earlier. Anyway, she only found dead bandits and a cyclops who ended up running away from the fight. With a sigh, Velvette returned to the Imperial camp, where she found the quartermaster and one Imperial soldier had been killed during the short time she was gone by a sabrecat. She started to trudge her way back to Ivarstead, but was immediately attacked by some sort of invisible foe. The invisible warrior killed all of the remaining Imperal troopers except their commander. Sadly, she left the trooperless commander in his tent, and stole one of his horses to ride back to Windhelm. Ever since level 10 I've been waiting for her to get her high elven ass killed so I could test the reload, but she has been stubbornly refusing to cooperate. Right now she is in Morthal, headed for UsedtheGrass. I'm going to park her there for a while so I can make another test subject to try some different notions... I think she needed a break anyway. :) Edited by neildarkstar, Mar 12 2018, 07:44 AM.

I've had a hell of a time getting back into the Skyrim swing of things! Mage Lexi #1 is finally "viable" but only has 20 hours of grinding to show for it. That is about right for my mages, but I still conveniently forget/overlook those sucky levels when I'm planning a run. Lexi #2 was born to shorten the grind; a "Conjuring Ranger" with 1 hand, archery, conjuration and light armor as her focus. She had such early success that at level 3 I thought it prudent to take on a Thalmor patrol and then try to get the transmute book at Halted Stream. No, neither of those were good ideas :O I wanted to play on Master solo, but now I don't know. Maybe Expert solo or Master with Jenassa until I can handle things. I do know that I kept thinking of Neil on Master with his monster mods. I could probably do that after I'm all built up...before that no way. As Dirty Harry says: a man's got to know his limitations ;) I'll play Lexi #2 more tonight and see how that goes. I'll try to keep her deaths to a minimum. The first death of Lexi was really tough; the second by Frostbite Spider a bummer. Lexi #2 brought her demise(s) to a "oh well, let's reload and try again" attitude I don't care for and of course just doesn't cut it in competition. I have a few more days to get my act together, so no stress here ;) :lmao: |

At least it seems like you're making progress, Lapuaboy. I had threatened to cut my difficulty back to Expert from Master, but I haven't done that yet. Man, this is going to be a rough one for me. I have a second test char I'm working with right now. Her name is Bretony Lane, and of course, she's a Breton mage (I like the Arcane Warrior designation Areial thought up for me). She's primarily mage, but has a nodding aquaintance with one-hand and block Anyway, she just came out of Bleak Falls at level 8, spent the night at Anise's Cabin, and as she left was attacked by her first random vampire. It was HAIRY! This female vampire was shooting ice spikes like they were coming out of a machine gun... She couldn't take the heat from my conjured Flame Atronach, and with Bretony shooting firebolts at the same time, it worked out okay. Bretony is pretty tough for her low level, but she's had a hard time with magicka... and getting good spells. I'm hoping we're on the cusp of changing all that. I sure hope Richard lets me use my campfire mod and "Run For Your Lives" though. I really like the Altmer character (especially all that magicka) but I think Bretany is going to win. She's very... charismatic. In fact, I think she looks almost angelic... Posted Image |

I, for one, plan on playing on apprentice. Too new to a mage build! |

Playing a mage is different... You can't just muscle your way through, and you often find you've gotten yourself into a completely untenable position. You have to be nimble as well as powerful so that you can hike your skirts and run like hell... :D |

So, would using the "Vampire in a secluded lair" start be an advantage? I'd like to think it wouldn't, since one would only be a normal vampire, not a lord. Here is the description:

Of course I'll let you. I use those mods myself and I don't see anything wrong with them. Campfire doesn't add anything that'll help you or that makes your life harder, and neither does "run for your lives", since it makes it so your "allies" (more like nuisances) go away, which means you won't get any help and it's more likely that the enemy starts focusing on you. At least, that's how I see the mods. |

Dhark has suddenly found himself in a cell with some statue of a weeping lady. He figures this must be a side affect of one of the hits of Jet he'd taken while wandering the commonwealth. Might as well play along with the dream. Who knows, he could be sitting in the memory den in a lounger that is on the fritz! Now for the mundane stuff: Name: Dhark Race: Breton Class type: Thief/Magic User (an old DnD favorite of mine) Distributions: 3 Magicka / 5 Health/ 1 Stamina to start. May change the ratio later. Skills: Sneak (highest priority), Archery (Second), One-handed (3rd) Light Armor (4th), Alchemy (5th) then the others catch as catch can. Conjuration when a distraction is useful, Destruction when a quick flame and dash is in order, that sort of thing. ;) Stones: Thief Stone to start and may change if the secondary skills lag too much and change again when a boost to skills isn't as useful as say magic resistance. Difficutly: Adept - because Vampires SUCK! Dhark is wandering about the cell looking for a lockpick or maybe something else, but it is quite dark. Perhaps he should consult the most obvious statue and see what that is all about. He'd truly rather be camping in the woods than here. *oh yeah that will be his start, camping in the woods* |

Thanks Richard! :) @ Bram: Looks you are ready to begin, bud! I'm not quite as ready, still got a little testing to do to make a final decision on the character I'll use. It's so hard when you have two options and you really like them both. |

They would make a really nasty team... But no, it'll be one or the other unless the starter proves to be not viable somehow. |

Er... no. I didn't mean as a team. I meant as two separate entries in the comp - that's not disallowed is it? |

I don't think... we have ever had a rule against it.. just that most people don't have enough time for two 40 to 80 hr's run throughs... of course some people do. |

Yeah. It would depend on the person - retired, or whatever - with the time to play however many hours said individual could stay awake.... and not do stupid crap because of playing too many hours! |

Personally, I'd never be able to keep the characters distinct from each other, and I'd always be confused as to who did what or what they were supposed to be doing. Heh, I'm already having issues with that and trying to remember what Bretony did or hasn't done as opposed to Aldmeri's accomplishments. Note that I even felt a need to name them in a way that at least keeps their racial origins in mind. :D |

Yep... I usually come up with a name that mean's something about their personality... Davin ( hybrid name David + Devin) mean's Bright, Freedom loving, Adventurous, Easygoing.. which suits him to a T. |
