For a time comparison, I can offer a couple of things. First time I played through DG (December 2015), it took me four days, about 8 hours of play a day - this was not god-mode, and the girl was about level 18 when starting the DLC. That was also time included for running around towns to sell stuff etc. Now, even playing on god-mode as I generally do (especially for that DLC which I am just not ever going to be fond of) it usually takes my girls two full days of 10 hour play sessions. When I start on it, I don't do anything else until I finish it. Neither of those includes doing all the schematics, killing the extra vamps, or Movarth. By the time I get to DG, I've already killed Movarth to get Thane of Hjaalmarch. |

The quest line itself doesn't take very long, IIRC. The lengthy part is building up characters on high difficulties to survive it. The vampires and hordes and hordes and hordes of Falmer make it a real mess for under-developed characters. Looking back, I didn't even begin the MQ of DG until Rhea was around level 25, had all Legendary gear, and her primary skills were in the 60's. |

Which is why I might play on Novice as a pure mage, or Adept as some sort of Vampire Spellsword. |

You've always been able to improve armor to legendary, if you work at it hard enough. |

Sorry Sere that was a Fallout 4 cross over silliness just for funnsies with Kane! P.S. I don't usually smith that high unless I'm experimenting, but yeah I've had legendary after smithing items. I just had closed out FO4 after killing a Legendary Ghoul with a Legendary Item (and I'm tired). Edited by Brambleberry, Mar 6 2018, 11:54 AM.

:D Sometimes having a few items smithed to legendary is necessary. Otherwise, enemies end up dying of death by a thousand cuts. |

Ugh, healing Spriggans at low levels are a bear. Speaking of Spriggans; I saw some kind of Spriggan Matron monstrosity lumbering around Anise's Cabin the other night. Had to be added by Immersive Creatures, but with Kirin at level 4, I noped right out of there! |

Yeah and that's always sooo much fun. I did the Uber smithing once... to much like work and wasn't what I call fun. Adept doesn't require and crafting at all vanilla to have a viable character. If it wasnt for my mods I probably wouldn't ever craft at all. Well maybe just to get the arms and armor that my character wears...and their follower. |

Something that helps with the grind a lot is Arthmoor's Ars Metallica mod. You get skill boosts from mining, too, and it helps raise your smithing without grinding. |

Kane she was... I usually have a Spriggin Patriarch... tough SOB... but a great way to get rid of the 4 or 5 bandits that OBIS adds....to the 2 or 3 that normally spawn. Err not that my characters haven't played ring around Anises cabin! |

Sometimes... most of the time I make the stuff, but their are a few outfits that have materials that outweigh the stats. |

I have to admit; that is frustrating. I've had that happen, and the worst part was that I had some of the ores required, but couldn't smelt then into ingots, yet. |
