We have analog clocks in almost every room of our house. I have a couple watches, but I've never found one that feels right. I'd love to have a pocket watch, though.

You probably won't be surprised to hear that most of my life I wore my watch on a thick, studded leather band from (left) wrist to forearm. I had a cop try to tell me once that my watch was a deadly weapon. So I said "Okay! Hands up and give me your money or I'll tell you what time it is!"

Okay, I didn't actually say that... but I wanted to so very badly...

Husband has a pocket watch - it's analog, so even if he was still wearing suits he wouldn't use it since the only watch he likes is digital. In fact, he can't actually tell time by looking at an analog clock....

Hunh... is that recent, or has he never been able to tell time?

Well, let me put it this way: the MINUTE they came out with digital wrist watches, he bought one and has never owned any other type since. I think that might have been in the early 80s....

It's been so long now, he just doesn't seem to pay enough attention to analog clocks to keep focused on telling time that way.

I prefer analog clocks and watches to digital. Especially clock radios - all that bright red light *sigh*.

Analog or digital doesn't really matter to me much... as long as its water proof to say a min of about 30 meters. I had an analog Seiko divers watch for years that I dearly loved...

I had a pocket watch once, but I really detested it... naturally, I rarely wear a suit in any case. Currently, I don't even own one. Guess I'll have to go to Sunday Meeting in my Birfsday suit...

I would rock a pocket watch in my jeans and work polo. Wouldn't bother me at all!

As for the analog vs. digitial....I love the ticking of a clock. I find it soothing to lay in bed and here it tick tocking away.

Too many chains for me. I wear a biker's (or perhaps truckers if it didn't have a Harley emblem :) ) chained wallet, so the cahin runs from front right belt loop to wallet in right rear pocket. With a watch fob running to that little pocket or even the big pocket, it's a mess. Like Loosie's hair in the morning, eh? Tangled... ;)

Me too. Much prefer analog and I take it one step further and prefer windup to battery, at least for watches. I went through a number of wrist watches over the years and finally spent some money and got an analog “self winding” Tag about ten years ago. Should last me forever and never needs a new battery.

I don't even wear the self-winding one I have - I mean, I do when we go to town.... like twice a month.... but sitting around here at the house, I just don't wear any watch - or jewelry either.

I haven't worn a watch since I retired, but clocks are everywhere these days. Phones, Microwaves, coffee pots, TVs, the vehicle. One begins to wonder if there's some conspiracy and Clocks actually run the world!

<sigh> I prefer analog wall clocks, but for a wristwatch, I want digital, blue or green light.. set on "Military" time...

At work I wore ( cause I broke it last week ) a "fit-bit"... not cause I am trying to get fit, but because Michael bought it for me.. See me and one of the guys at work had a little contest thing going.. who took the most step's at work.. so we both had an app on our phones, but our store manager doesn't even want other managers to have their phones on the floor... sooo I needed another way to count.. Paul still carries his, I actually follow that particular rule.. mostly.

Tim now asks me what time it is.. and I tell him I don't know.. around what-ever-ish... cause I'm not buying a watch and everywhere not home, but here.. I use my phone for the time... it is 1336 right now...

Yes, phones have made wrist watches obsolete. I still wear mine 24/7, but it’s more like antique jewelry to wear a mechanical watch nowadays. But I can check the time when I wake up in the middle of the night without having to fumble for the phone and I sleep well knowing that I will still be able to measure time after an EMP goes off and frys all the electronics. Lol.

sigh> My biggest reason for not buying a watch... I have a broken watch collection.. 1/2 of it got burnt up, but it's a standing joke in my family about me and my broken watch collection.

When I got out of the Navy Mom got me a Marvin the Martian watch... poor little guy, the crystal was replaced 5 times, cause I kept breaking it.. The 5th time my Mom happened to notice I wasn't wearing it, so she asked where he was.. I told her getting the crystal fixed...

"How much is that costing you kiddo?" She asked

"$25, not to bad" says I..

She looks at me with that 'Your shitting me look'.. and says.. "You know I only paid $30 for it"

"Oh well.. It was a present so. " Yeah, wasn't going to tell her I had had it fixed 4 other times...

I gave it to my brother, he wore it for the next 10 yrs.

I have managed ( not on purpose ) to break the "indestructible" I even had a pocket watch, cause ya know I can go months and not break the phone in my back pocket.. not so a watch...
