Polly Fonix has visited Arkngthamz, where she met a new ghostly friend. Together they rid the place of nasty dirty Falmer, and secured another piece of that Aetherium stuff. She also picked up an interesting bow, although it's not nearly as powerful as her own Bound Bow.

Next stop: Raldbthar, and then it's back to Fort Dawnguard to report in to Isran.

Polly is just about to turn level 15.

I am officially GRUMPY. Steam has done 3 updates in the last several days. The first two were benign, as in nothing affected my games.

TODAY's frickin' update, which I do by restarting Steam and when the dialog comes up go to Off-line mode (done this way every time without issue) has completely BORKED my Skyrim and Fallout.

I'll load up any save that I have and I can play for a little bit, but then CTD. Sometimes it CTDs while it's trying to load.

Going to try the stooopid verify files, but I haven't gone On-line with steam because I don't want any forced updates, now it would seem I'm going to have to do it. Unless I just start over which would be disheartenting. Dhark is level 32 in Skyrim and level 72 in Fallout (just opened up the BoS and getting ready to let Preston out of the Museum).

Sad thing is there are zero error messages. It just blips off and that's it. :smash:

I haven't tried running Fallout 4 in a week or two now, the game is stuck with the update paused. I should go look and see if there's a F4SE update available, so I can let that update finish before going back offline.

Hmmm... guess there's not. The F4SE guys are a bit slow this time around...

*shrug* didn't even do the verification of files and at least Fallout seems to be working just fine. I have no idea what gremlin crawled out of his hidey hole, but I'm hoping he's back in hibernation.

I'm throwing this out for your consideration and ruling. Lexi is/was level 49, getting ready for Darkfall Cave and has 62 hours in, so it's getting pretty serious! I just had my two Dremora aggro on Lexi and she was dead before I clued in. It was definitely them...she was taking damage and couldn't figure out what was going on until she saw both of her former buds red and hacking on her. They don't go aggro even with friendly fire (from me that is, Serana pisses them off no end), so I would say it's a glitch, but I'm not proceeding until I get a yea/nay. It was a fun day until this :)

Without a mod the only thing I know of that will turn a summon on you is certain of the Dragon Priests, if one of them wasn't involved.. then it was a glitch and reloadable.

Richard of course has the final say

Your summons can aggro I believe if another Necro uses Command Daedra on them. I've had that happen on a Frost Atronach, but I'm not sure if NPCs can do it to a Dremora summons. May need to consult the wiki to see.

P.S. Doesn't have to be a Necro per se, just a caster. They just happen to be the one's that do it usually. Guessing Vamp mages and other mages have that as their spell arsenal as well at certain levels.

P.P.S. NOPE this didn't happen. From the Wiki:

Though its casting cost is greater than that for a Flame Atronach or Frost Atronach, it allows you to save time by both getting rid of an enemy and getting help to defeat the remaining ones. If your enemy summons a Storm Atronach, you'll need to dual-cast the spell, since Storm Atronachs are level 30 - too high for this spell if single-cast. This spell does not work at all on Dremora Lords. If your goal is just to get rid of your enemies' summons, Banish Daedra and Expel Daedra both have a lower casting cost. Additionally, the Oblivion Binding perk for Bound Weapons allows you to banish Daedra on strike.

From what everyone said, it was a glitch. Go ahead and reload.

Thanks all for your input, and Richard for the go ahead :thumb:

Lexi will get back at it tonight, and really has to get moving! I probably spent too much time farting around, thinking there was plenty of time....now the clock seems to be ticking faster and faster ;)

I think I'm going to call it a day with this competition...
Walked out of the nightgate inn and game was a bit laggy....it happens, potato pc....carried on down the road and as I was passing silverdrift lair or wherever those bandits hide out I was beset by 2 wolves, 2 bandits (1 of them an archer) and a reaver thug. The reaver was clearly out of my range to deal with, especially with arrows getting stuck in me and he moved quicker than me....sprinted away for 2 seconds then reverted to standard trot (ran out of stamina) and he had caught me within a second, hit in the back twice and I was dead.

I thought about going pure vanilla on my reinstall, but wanted to carry on with modded...I don't really have much time right now, literally only an hour or two each day at most so no point to me restarting again. Good luck to those continuing on, i'll have to start looking at building a new pc once I have the money for parts...this one is slowly dying, 4 and half years old and was bought pre-assembled for £400....was never going to be a competitive machine

Polly Fonix has survived Raldbthar, even if she can't pronounce it. She now has all four pieces of that blue stuff. She's hoping that this whole adventure with her "ghost friend" is going to be worthwhile.

While in Raldbthar, she found a weird "talking beacon" in a chest. It made demands, in a highly authoritarian female voice, to come to some shrine somewhere, and become an instrument of something or other. Very dubious, but maybe. If she's ever in the neighborhood.

She's going to go see Isran before she joins Katria at the Forge, because she needs Heavy Armor training; the fights involving pairs of Dwarven Spheres were very difficult, given her low armor rating (about 110.) She used a lot of healing potions, and was grateful for the Veggie Soup she had prepared before going in.

Polly doesn't know it yet, but opening the elevator into Raldbthar is going to be very helpful in the near future, as a quicker way into Blackreach. Polly is level 17, and has reached Adept in Conjuration. We're going to be looking to acquire a better summon, as the "Flame Dame" is starting to fizzle in fights.

That's sad, Poncho. Glargg, you could try telling Polly to call it neil's name for it: Ratballs.
