Oh.. sorry about the trial run, that didn't pain out!

I too barely do Crafting, just enough to get by...But it's a matter of knowing the play style that you choose, at the lower levels, what you can and can't get away with. Mod's add the difficulty that actually makes crafting needed... or I would never bother beyond creating the armor and arm's that I wanted.

Halted Stream's interior "features" can be used to your advantage. The floor in the bottom room is covered with oil, and there are several hanging oil lamps that can be sniped to set the oil on fire. If you snipe one, then sneak back up the ramp, you can do damage without being engaged. I've managed on a couple of occasions to sneak back in two more times, effectively getting three sneak attacks on the boss.

Everybody in that lower room could be down quite a bit of health before you have to fight anybody.

I've thought about using the oil, but I never have. It's more fun to just kill 'em all...

See.. 1st arrow ( in sneak ) into back of bandit chief, quick second shot down the other tunnel... sneak back to 1st chamber.. wait a few minutes.. repeat til Bandit chief is dead.

Next to go is the Mage... arrow with Damage Magic regen on it into him.. Blue Butterfly wing/ Blue Mountain flower....sneak in, sneak out.. rinse and repeat til he's a goner.

For the Mage and his buddy, you can shoot down the other tunnel first, then get a good shot at him.. and run/sneak away.

Halted Stream gives me the puckers. My testers for this run on Master got worked numerous times. One time I used the pots/oil fire and Flame Atronach to get rid of two out of three...with the Bandit Chief chasing me right to the entrance...and he stayed there. I gave up until I got stronger. My usual tactic is to try something, and when that doesn't work panic. Seems to work out okay ;)

Big drum roll please; Lexi has started Dawnguard! With over half of our time gone, I figured it was time to get down to business. Lexi is waiting for me at the entrance to Dimhollow, so tonight we're going to get busy. So to speak :)

My go to strategy for Halted Stream Camp. Enter from the front take out the one bandit. Mine everything on the upper side of the locked door, oh, don't loot the key from the bandit. Lockpick the cell like door leading to the lower area.

Sneak down on the right side until you reach the very small spot where the wall juts out just a bit. From there take a pot shot at the chief with bow and arrow. If you're RPing a magic user only, then don't do this until you have quiet casting and a projectile spell like firebolt or ice spike. After each shot immediately sneak all the way back to the mine entrance. By the time you get there the bandits will stop looking for you. Wait a few moments and then repeat the process. I've done this with zero perks in sneak and it hasn't failed me yet.

Depending on your character when the Chief has about a third of his health left one can sneak down past the table to the top of the steps and cast fury on the orc at the weapon sharpening stone and run back up to the top of the mine (avoid the traps).

Usually by the time the bandits settle down the Chief is either almost dead or dead and the other two are at much lower health. Repeat the process if you have fury until there's just one standing.

Without fury, go down to the point where you can shoot a lamp, but aren't past the bone charm alarm. Turn back around and up the tunnel. Next time down you will either deal with two low health bandits, one, or none.

It's a process, but on the higher difficulties it has always worked for me.

My favorite way is bow and arrow down the dhief until he dies. Then fury the orc at the weapon station. Then lamp burn which ever of the two bandits is left.

Sounds like Bram has the same sort of relationship with Sneak that I have! Sneak-shot, hide, rinse and repeat. ;)

Polly Fonix discovered that Dimhollow had an unusual "prisoner," and escorted that person to her Daddy's house in the northwestern extreme of Skyrim.

After refusing a rather nasty-sounding "reward" from Daddy, Polly set out southward, planning to make her way to a place called Arkngthamz, which she had read about in a book about Aetherium.

On the way, she happened upon a piece of Aetherium at a place called Deep Folk Crossing, and she made camp there for the night.

Actually, I'm very fond (now) of the sneak sneak-shoot-sneak away-sneak sneak back - etc. myself. It's really good when I'm not just running TGM for an explorer. Stay alive a lot better....

Lexi had a quite interesting night, and for a bit thought her Dawnguard run was over. After she returned Serana to Harkon, it was back to Fort Dawnguard to check in with Isran. Of course the vamps were attacking Fort Dawnguard, and in the fighting Lexi must have zapped Celann, for it was aggro time. Lexi and her Dremora took care of the vamps, Celann and Durak. Isran was put down, bit is essential. Hmmm, that sort of sucked. Lexi got out of there, waited one week and tried again. Thankfully Isran "reset" and gave her the recruiting mission which she just now completed. Whew!

Wow. I've never had them aggro, and I've hit various of them various times - both in that first attack at the fort, and later when killing my way to get to Harkon....

Maybe it's something to do with the difficulty setting?

Marcurio agro'd them for Zyne... 3 reload's ... finally had to leave him at the entrance of the Valley.. gotta love Chain Lighting in his hands...

Edit: Sis...360 on Adept.. it's what I had and she was one of my longest played characters.. and I think one of the better stories.

Well, I'm going to have to make it a point to pop one of them good the next time - I KNOW I've hit Durak a couple of times because I've seen his nameplate show; and pretty sure I've hit Celann and Isran too. I might not have hit any Dawnguard the last time at the Castle because I was so tired of the stupid DLC by then I just left the others to live or die, and ran straight to Harkon's little hidey-hole.

Lisandra Lex is up and running...for now lol
Did a brief practice run to get to grips with SoT and only realised halfway through Saarthal that the mod was set to milk-drinker and was massively boosting my health/regen until I hit level 17. So I switched it to Spartan (recommended difficulty) and disabled the health assist....and was promptly turned into paste by a horde of a dozen or so draugr wights, overlords, hulking and restless.

Since her restart she has woken up by Alftand, evaded a group of unpleasant looking "imperial soldiers" standing amid a pile of naked corpses, stolen from the shrine of Arkay in order to be able to survive (no weapons, no offensive spells...consoled in the healing spell because I don't recall a reason I shouldn't have that), defeated a trio of Knights sent to punish Lisandra for stealing from Arkay (the knights all had Daedric tier mage armour, but this was left to rot and is in any case unwearable at her present level). Lisandra then stumbled across a Redguard and an Argonian debating entering a cave....the cave turned out to be the resting place of a powerful ancient warlord....but with a little running away and an incomprehensible inability of the Warlord to pass through a gate....Lisandra came out victorious, even despite the betrayal of the treacherous lizard. She is now sitting in the Nightgate Inn at level 4 and 1 hour in, pondering her next move having collapsed into a bed around 8pm and slept for 11 hours.

For easy addition to Page 1,

Poncho
Lisandra Lex
Imperial
Female
Adept

Lisandra is currently debating travelling to the Mages College for an education in basic magics, but has heard mention of a group calling themselves the Vigilants of Stendarr who may be willing to show her more efficient ways of directing her healing magics...

That is a good job... is it a glitch that the Warlord can get through or design? I've never tried running out, I always have my own follower and end up playing chase or peek-a-boo

I think it was a gltch, beating him "fairly" would have taken much longer, but made it a convenient chance to practice a bit of archery...used up most of the arrows Lisandra had though
