Intro Story Here is the story of Drahcir, a recently graduated member of the bards college where he had been studying for two years.. He has lived in Solitude for as long as he can remember and it had always been a dream of his to travel through Skyrim and discover the land he has lived on. His father (Leugim), a warrior, and his mother (Ineva), a mage focused on conjuration and restoration, joined the army when Drahcir was but twelve years old, leaving behind a small fortune. He had learned to cook and go to the market, and was able to survive on his own, since he had no other family members. When he was 17, he received a letter, where it said his mother had died due to a conjuration gone wrong. Apparently, his mother had conjured a Linch, which was above her skill, making the "contract" that bound the conjured creature to the caster inexistent, leading to the murder of his mother and a few more soldiers, including his father, that passed away due to injuries when he tried to kill the linch. He cried for his parents during the coming months, drowning his sorrows in cheap wine and fights. When he turned 19 and saw he was on his last 3,000 gold, he decided he had to change, stopping with the wine drinking and following with applying to the bards college. At the age of 21, he graduated and decided to travel Skyrim to see the cities, villages and hamlets, while having the freedom of the open road, where he could compose songs and stories of his findings and travels. This is his story. Info about how this game will be played: Spoiler: click to toggle

This is sounding interesting as all get out Richard! Looking forward to it for sure. I didn't personally like Vigilant (which I played once as adjunct to Legacy of the Dragonborn), but it seems it will fit in fine with your process here! [Oh - and I LOVE the "drawkcab" name too!] Edited by Serethil, Mar 22 2018, 07:15 PM.

Thanks Sere, Areial. I'm hoping I have the motivation to keep this one going until the end :) . After checking his equipment three times, Drahcir nods to himself and thinks: - Now the only thing left is to set out and see what Skyrim has to offer. Oh yeah, I better buy some potions from old Angeline. Hopefully I won't need them. As he entered the store, he told the potion maker that he wanted some healing potions. As the transaction was being made, she asked if he was going for to travel, to which he replied yes, he was going to every city. She asked that if he could ask Aldis, the captain and trainer near castle Dour, about her daughter. He found him and, after a bit of convincing, he told Drahcir her daughter died in a scouting party and that he was trying to get the courage to tell her. Drahcir, with a heavy heart, went to report to her. She said she had warned her daughter and, on the brink of tears, dismissed him. Drahcir shrugged it off outside, thinking she needed some time alone to mourn her daughter. And so, he set off to Dragon Bridge, to see the beginning of what the world had to offer. On his way there, he saw the khajiit caravan stopped there. He smiled and waved at them. He liked them, they told them stories of their home land and their travels, which was inspirational for him. He kept going down the road and looked at the stables. He had enough money to buy a horse, but thought he shouldn't, as it would distract him on his travels. With every step he took towards Dragon Bridge, he felt free and alert, with adrenaline rushing through him. He spotted a patrol of thalmors with a prisoner, and quickly hid. He knew they would kidnap people they thought worshipped Talos. Drahcir didn't care much, but he didn't want to get caught, lest they think he's a Talos worshipping nord. After they were out of sight, we quickly got out and continued down his path to Dragon Bridge. As the town entered in sight, he located the inn and went inside. He needed a bed for tonight. (I'll probably write small parts like this, since it's more useful.) Edited by Richard, Mar 23 2018, 04:25 AM.

Well told! Short posts really are more effective in many situations (like narrating what happens in game for a character) - so that works fine for me. I - usually don't do the Angeline thing, it's too.... emotional.... and I'm not really interested in doing anything either Imperial or Stormcloak as to faction quests. But I like the way Drahcir handled it. |

He stepped into the inn, and asked for a room, giving 10 septims to the inn keeper. In the morning, he put everything in his backpack, ordered some breakfast and kept going on his path. Passing through the bridge, he saw imperial and stormcloak soldiers laying on the ground, dead. He figured there must've been a skirmish and the survivors got too wounded to make it back. He avoided the corpses and only took the smaller weapons with him, to sell to the nearest merchant. Further down the road, he found a cart. Thinking that it was merchants coming to Solitude, he hurried to meet them. Getting closer, he saw that there was blood and he feared the worst. There were two bodies, with arrows sticking out of them. He pulled an arrow from the cart and noticed they seemed like they were made by a blind person. He couldn't figure out how they were functional at all, but he shrugged it off and faced the bodies. There was a redguard women with arrows sticking out of her guts and legs, and a nord, that had a single arrow going through his eye ball. Horrified, disgusted and with his stomach threatening to empty his recent breakfast, he took a step back and vomited. He cleaned his mouth in the nearby river and hurried to the mill, which was close by, thinking that they saw this happening or, at least, heard the screams. Spotting the miller, he walked to him and questioned him he knew anything about the attack on the cart. - Yes, I know about it. - The miller said. - I've already mentioned to the guards, so I'm just hoping they do something about it. I didn't hear anything, which is weird, since I spend most of my time here. Drahcir thanked him for informing him and asked the direction of the nearest settlement. "Just follow the river upward", the miller answered and Dhracir followed his directions, and up the stream he went, until he found a post with a sign pointing to Whiterun. He smiled and kept walking, know he would soon be inside walls. He still smiled when he reached a camp. Thinking it was a friendly camp, no doubt made by Imperials, he kept walking towards it, until he felt an arrow missing him by a centimeter. He panicked and quickly hid behind a rock. "Man, I wish I knew some conjuration", he thought but quickly cleared his head, remembering that it was conjuration that killed his family. He drew the bow he had on his back and shot one of the bandits, nailing him in the throat. He drew another arrow and shot a rushing bandit in the eye. Drawing another, he shot another bandit in the knee, making him fall off the bridge he was standing and breaking his neck. Another bandit rushed him and he put the bow on his back and pulled his axe and shield, bashing his face and hitting him in the neck. The bandit tried to fight back but collapsed, dead. Once the adrenaline ran out, did he realize what happened. He tried to vomit, but nothing came out. He washes the blood out of his belongings as well as himself the best way he could, but he still felt dirty. He decided to rest for a bit in the camp, where bandits once lived. He started to think," Why not take what they had and sell?", but the idea scared him. He had to touch the bodies and take off their armor and belongings... He swallowed his fears and proceeded to do just that and even trying some armor on (after it was cleaned, of course). He found a few interesting swords but decided to sell them. They were too clunky for him to use. He grabbed the cart he was using to carry everything and kept going to the direction of Whiterun, in hopes he could sell it all. He reached Rorikstead without incident. He hurried for the inn to see if there was a merchant, since this was just farmland and didn't seem to have a merchant building. There was one but he didn't have much gold, so Drahcir sold what he could and proceeded to rent a room to the innkeeper. He rambled about his son, Erik, wanting to be an adventurer. Drahcir talked to the innkeeper and persuaded him to let him become one, like him. He innkeeper told him he would go to Whiterun with his son to buy some equipment for him next week and pointed where his room was. He really needed to rest and clean his weapons and armor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drahcir couldn't properly sleep due to the killing he had been forced to do the day prior. He woke up many times, dreaming of an arrow strucking his eye. He got up, put the armor he bought on, cleaned his axe and shield once again and played a song to the people inside the inn that went there for the morning ale. The innkeeper thanked him and gave him some food for the way. Drahcir asked him if Whiterun was far, to which the innkeeper replied; - It's still a ways to go, but you should be there in a couple of hours. But be careful, there are some wolves praying on travelers. - He looked to Drahcir. - But you shouldn't have any problems with that. Drahcir laughed and thanked the innkeeper, and proceeded on his way. He saw a few wolves on his way, but he managed to steer clear of them. He also found an Imperial patrol, so he decided to stay with them until they reached Whiterun. They shared stories of their time on the road and Drahcir asked if they knew his parents. They said yes, and had heard of what happened to them. They remained the rest of the way sharing heartwarming stories of his parents and how they helped everyone. They were considered heroes in the legion and did together what a small force couldn't do. Drahcir was impressed by his parents and hoped that, one day, he could achieve the glory they had. Arriving at Whiterun, he saw there were Khajiit at the entrance and he couldn't help but smile. The Khajiit caravan back in Solitude were always nice to him. He approached the Khajiit merchant and started to barter with him, managing to get a good price for the loot. As he entered the city he knew, this was only the beginning of his adventures. He headed to the tavern "The Drunken Huntsman" and asked the owner where one might find some work for a wondering bard. He said to try the inn for some rumors or the castle, as the Jarl seems to need more helping hands in these trying times. A mercenary women overheard him and asked if he needed some help himself. He nodded, since he didn't have much skill in combat, only what he learned with his parents and in the training grounds, where his personal instructor taught him. Plus, it'd get lonely on the road. He paid the fee she required and both went to the inn to look for a job, which they got. A bounty to clear some bandits, it said. They readied their equipment and headed out to the tower. Approaching the tower, they spotted someone at the bottom, near the road. Most likely trying to rob traveling folk that walked through there. He readied his bow, aimed and... Missed. The bandit noticed and rushed him while screaming, which alerted everyone. He readied another arrow and missed, but Jenassa had drawn her bow as well and shot the bandit in the mouth, ceasing her screams. Bandits rushed down the tower to face them, but were met with arrows, some which struck their armor, resulting in no damage. Drahcir put his bow on the back and drew his sword and shield, and Jenassa soon followed. She bashed the skull of a bandit, slashed the legs of another and cut off the head of the remaining. The one with the slashed leg tried to stab her, but Drahcir struck his sword through his throat. ending his life. They rested a bit and identified the leader, cutting his head off after looting the tower and the corpses. They hurried back to the city, with the leaders head inside a sack that had been used to keep potatoes. They delivered it to the steward and got their reward. After a night at the inn, they decided to travel to Windhelm, Winterhold, Dawnstar and Morthal, and then they'd decide their paths again. Drahcir yawned, realizing how tired he was. He dismissed Jenassa and told her to meet him at dawn at the gate. For now, he really needed a bed. He was surprised how the killing got easier everytime he struck an enemy. "I hope I'm not turning into a monster", he though, falling asleep. (The plan now is to make a trip to Dawnstar to start the VIGILANT quest. I hope this seems interesting, I'm scared this is boring for the reader. If it is, I don't mind spicing it up a bit.) Edited the story because I thought it lacked some "charm". I'm not bored, and I'm enjoying it as is, but... I can't help but wonder what spicing it up would entail... It's a bit hard to think once one gets a visual of Jenassa in a full Dominatrix outfit, eh? :D Edited by neildarkstar, Mar 23 2018, 10:15 PM.

Funny to imagine but I'll let it be for now. :P I meant as in detailing the fights a bit more, perhaps create some "romantic drama" between Jenassa and Drahcir? Not sure. |
