Ahdaabi Daabi-Do Posted Image This one does not truly understand even her own name. The only part which makes any sense is the honorific "Do", meaning "Warrior"... Even then, this one is not actually a recognized warrior... It makes this one wonder if names really describe the person, or if the person must work to describe the name, yes? In any case, this one hails from a land far to the West, or very much farther to the East, perhaps. It is an island of Khajiit who are born to wander, and this one is no different. This is Aabii's Journal. Day 1 Sundas 17th of Last Seed 4e 201 This one has been hired by Ri'Saad as a guard for his caravan.Surprised, he was to find one such as I in Skyrim, and that I was seeking employment seemed even more surprising to him. The day has passed with very little to comment upon, except for a few moments of excitement when a sabrecat attacked a guard near Ri'Saad's camp. It was quickly put down, and this one acquired a nice pelt, 2 teeth and a perfectly good eyeball. This one has tried, but so far been unable to see anything through it. Day 2 18th of Last Seed 4e 201 So much has happened in such a short time. This one dreads writing of the events of the morning because she is filled with shame and anger. While standing her guard watch, this one observed a wolf not far away who seemed intent on the caravan. Thinking to prevent an attack, this one slipped to a position and hit the wolf with her arrow... but the wolf was hardly damaged, and returned the attack. Its teeth inflicted vicious wounds, and this one dove into the nearby river, swam to the other side and responded with more arrows. Soon, the wolf was badly wounded, and tried to run away. As the wounded creature topped the river bank, Ri'Saad himself was there to put it down. So... anger because this one needed no help and definitely did not need the lecture from Ri'Saad on returning to the camp about the many dangers of Skyrim. Shame because Ri'Saad gave reprimand, and informed this one her services are no longer needed. Ri'Saad felt a guard should not have been so far from the caravan. In truth, the distance was not far but there is no arguing with the caravan master. Now this one must seek her fortune elsewhere. Day 9 27th of Last Seed 4e 201 This one has wandered much in the last few days, seeking a proper place to settle for a time. Khajiit found herself near a city of Nords called Whiterun, but was unable to enter the city. Still, there was much game nearby, and this one was told of a place not far away called Riverwood where she could sell her skins. Khajiit has learned much. This one has realized she must buy a horse... She can slip up on her prey, but cannot kill with one shot. So her arrow strikes home, the wounded prey runs and vanishes far from khajiit. With a horse this would be different. They say horses do not like poor khajiit, but this one will borrow a horse as soon as she can and find out if that is true. In the meantime, this one has accidentally found a way to enter the city of Whiterun! All this one has to do is get caught picking a pocket, and turn herself in to one of the guards. The guard takes khajiit to jail, and when time is served releases her inside the city. She was told to leave the city, but nobody seemed to want to check up on her. Khajiit had heard of a shrine where health could be found. It was in the Hall of the Dead but did not seem dangerous. This one entered there, received a blessing and was tasked by the priest of Arkay to retrieve an amulet for him from the catacombs. Aahbii did not believe this to be a hard task, so she agreed. Almost immediately on entering the catacombs, this one was attacked by a skeleton swinging a Nordic Great Sword! She blocked the blow with her shield, but was driven back toward the entrance. As Khajiit retaliated for the blow, another corpse and yet another joined the fray, all attacking poor khajiit! This one was forced to retreat back through the door into the entrance hall where the priest was waiting. He was surprised by the three undead who came through the door with Aabii. He fought bravely and well for a priest, but he soon fell to the angry blows of the undead. Khajiit was forced into a small side room, but when the three undead foes tried to approach, this one gave her war cry "Aabii Dabii-Doo!" and with a huge attack slew the closet skeleton to the door. Then, with only two foes to face, she was able to hack them into undead bits and pieces in a short time. Sadly, Aabii placed the priest on a nearby tomb, and went back into the catacombs to recover his amulet. Even now she wears this amulet out of respect for his courage and his memory. Posted Image |

Well, that's too bad - probably going to make it difficult to return Alessandra's dagger to him! Good stuff, neil! I like the play on her name....

Thanks gals! Yeah, I thought about Allessandra at the time, and I'm wondering how that will end up working out. I suspect the quest will never be offered, but I dunno... The Monster Mod makes that quest for Andur's Amulet really dangerous for a low level character just as Immersive Creatures does, and I hadn't thought about that when Aabii went in there. See, I still haven't decided yet whether I'm playing Aabi as DiD, or DWC. I haven't had to decide yet, because it hasn't been an issue. I suspect DWC will win out. :) Edited by neildarkstar, Mar 31 2018, 10:36 AM.

Aabii has spent much time learning of the ways of life in this place called Skyrim. She roamed around nearby areas of Whiterun for a few days, and then found herself wandering to the north. This one thinks the people of Skyrim are very odd. Aabii had purchased a fine horse, and found ehrsefl outside the gates of a place called "Fort Dunstad". It was walled, but it didn't seem to be acity, so khajiit was unsure of the welcome she would receive inside the walls. There was no gate, just an open port, so Aabii sheathed her claws and rode into the Fort Dunstad at a slow walk. At first, none of the inhabitants (who looked very rough) seemed to notice her at all. This one refrained from smiling, because she has been told a smiling khjiit is often seen as viscious or angry by humans. As this one rode through, the people suddenly drew their weapons, but made no move to attack. Aabii came to understand that she was not welcome in this place, but was in no immediate danger. One human kept telling this one to "Back Off!", but only waved her big hammer at poor khajiit. This one would have enjoyed an ale at the pub, but instead kept on until she had passed entirely out of the fort on its North side. What strange creatures these Nords are... Arriving at Dawnstar, this one met up with the caravan of Ahkari, and spent a couple of days with them. It was really very dull, but when Ahkari decided to leave for Riften, this one rode along just for company as she explored this frozen land. The journey to Riften was long, taking two days (without sleep) and most of two nights. It was also very dangerous. The caravan encountered an ice troll near Nightgate Inn, and we all rushed in to do battle with the beast. In the midst of the fight, two Durzogs joined the fray, attacking khajiits and the Ice Troll at random until they were killed by the troll. Sadly, Zaynabi was killed in that fight as well. This one was amazed by the toughness of that troll! Five khjiits and two Durzog had not created any noticeable injury to the beast in half an hour's time, so this one rode in and put an arrow in the troll's face to get its attention. That part of this one's plan worked perfectly... After some time spent beating its chest, the troll charged after Aabii with a frightening roar. With a hearty cry of "Aabii Daabi-Do" this one placed another arrow in its face then turned and rode away. The next few minutes were spent leading the troll away from the three surviving members of the caravan who were all down on one knee at that time. The beast was much faster than this one had thought, and often was within a few feet of Aabii's horse! She began to wonder what would happen if the horse became exhausted during this chase... She was certain she could not defeat it alone, and if she couldn't outrun it... Suddenly this one burst out of the forest and onto the shore of a large lake. A cave bear was taken my surprise as she galloped past him, smacking him with her axe as she passed close enough to feel the heat of his breath. Fortunately, the troll was hot on her heels, and also attacked the bear. Poor bear fought ferociously for a few seconds, and then broke and ran into the forest with the troll chaing right behind him. This one chose to take the opportunity to head around the lake, then up the hill to a place where the entrance to the Forgotten Cave lay a short distance north of the road. Soon she was joined by the caravan, and they all continued on their way with their hearts heavy. The memory of Zaynabi was like a weight that hunched their shoulders and made each step require more effort than normal. The caravan arrived at Rfiten, and this one decided to speak to the guards at the gate. Surprisingly, the guard was trying to extort coin from Aabii to let her in. She raised such a fuss he decided to let her in, khajiit or no. This one believes guards are strange creatures as well. They have strange powers, often doing things one would believe impossible. This guard unlocked the gate, greatly surprising Aabii! Not five minutes earlier, she had picked his pocket and stolen his key... Edited by neildarkstar, Apr 1 2018, 01:29 PM.

I'm glad y'all are enjoying Aabii... She's a kick to play, though sometimes getting the khajiiti dialogue correct is painful. It's good that I have the Khajiiti dialogue overhaul, eh? ;) |

Aabii Daabi-Do Two Beggar This one can make no excuse, she has no reasons that will stand on their own. Aabii was strolling along the path that follows the north shore of Lake Honrich. Khajiit was minding her own business, gathering some alchemical ingredients and surreptitiously checking out Golden Glow Estate. While this one has never really been a thief, she had decided to join the Thieves Guild in Riften for whatever advantages she might gain. The Guild had tasked her with a mission to this estate in their name. Truthfully, she has no interest in gaining any power or prestige within the Guild, but the task sounded challenging, and had piqued her interest. As khajiit walked the path, suddenly she heard a gruff voice from somewhere above call out. "Give 'em the dogs, boys!" Arrows suddenly whizzed around her, and pit wolves were released from a nearby gate. Aabii did not wait to give them a bone, and simply ran with all due speed to the lake. She dived in and swam to an island not far from shore. There on the island, she gathered her thoughts. It was the bandits of Faldar's Tooth who had released the wolves on her, and they were to blame for Aabii's condition as she huddled on that tiny piece of land. This one was wet, cold, and perhaps more angry than she had ever been in her life... To set wolves on a peaceful traveler, is despicable at best! She loosed her bow, and began plying the wolves and bandits with her arrows in the gathering gloom of darkness. This one is Khajiit, and cares not if it be dark, her arrows still found their mark. Wolves and bandits alike fell before the arrows that unerringly flew to their mark. Soon, all of them who had left the safety of their hold were dead, and the rest huddled behind their walls of stone thinking that would save them. Any other time, they might have been right, but khajiit was angry beyond prudent thought or the granting of any mercy! This one swam back to that shore, then circled the crumbling fortress until she found a place where the ramparts had fallen enough to give her entry. She climbed the crumbling wall, and began hunting her prey. Soon, she came to a tower that reached into the heavens, and on hearing a gruff voice from within entered. Silently, she slipped into the tower, and up a flight of stone steps that gave access to a platform where she could see a lone figure sitting before a table. His armor was a good grade of steel plate, and she could see the long finger of a two-handed hammer reaching toward the sky from his back. Almost, she turned and left without taking action... almost. This one simply could not leave that beast sitting there in his armor to kill innocent travelers at his whim, so she moved silently up behind him. Almost softly, he spoke. "So you're the one who has been killing all of my wolves... You will die for that!" The sudden sound startled her and because she was rattled and surprised, this one struck prematurely without thinking it through properly. She should have used poison to weaken and paralyze him, but she just struck out in sudden fear of this man who had heard her silent footsteps. Khajiit's attack hurt him only slightly, and he rose to his feet swiftly, bringing that brutal and enchanted dwarven hammer to bear. Ferocious blows rained back and forth between them, but his were the stronger. With each blow he drove this one back further, and yet a little further until... her feet met only air, and she began a long fall from the high tower to the ground far below. Oddly, she had just time to wonder if she would land on her feet... then she felt the intense pain of hitting the unforgiving ground. Her breath left her body, and the world went dark as she rolled limply toward the path where she had walked such a short time before. Time ceased to have meaning... seconds, hours, or perhaps weeks passed, then Aabii found herself on the road just outside of Riverwood. Naked, no clothing, weapons, food or drink, and without even a single coin, she awoke wondering how it was that she still lived. Wondering what to do, she walked haltingly into the village... and considered that perhaps her days as a proud warrior were over. Like it or not, it seemed she had been reduced to the position of beggar, so she entered the village and began her new career. Among the Khajiit beggars are unusual. Preferring to steal instead, khajiit beggars tend to morph into thieves... but this one has no more confidence in her ability to steal than she has in her ability fight for a living. the khajiit sat down in the dark and dirty road, and began to beg for food. |

I'm going to set Aabii aside for a while I think... she's driving me batty. She's just not viable, even for a character that is NOT DiD... She's cursed. Or I am... All afternoon, she's been dying about every three minutes. She did manage to get her stuff back from the Bandit Chief, but after that, it was... terrible! She was killed by a wolf pup, killed by a wild cat, fell off a cliff, was lunch for a pack of wolves and a bear, one shotted by a stunted scamp, and finally attacked by a Hunger that came from nowhere. I just can't handle it anymore... She's essentially a stealth archer. She has good enchanted weapons, decent fortified armor, but she cannot successfully sneak. WTF? ...and when she DOES sneak successfully, it's like... she was sneaking up on a plain ol' Forsworn Looter. He walked through a doorway, she hit him with a stealthy dual one-handed attack, and SHE died instantly. I didn't see him swing any kind of weapon, but he must have, right? Anyway, I'm moving to something else. I don't know what yet... I cannot believe that with the same mods and overall setup, a pure mage (the Breton) had better survival odds in absolutely EVERY situation! How can this be? |

Ouch.. sounds like she might have been running through her 9 lives a bit to fast!! I don't know.. I've had two different 2h do completely different.. and have different luck, when I thought that they were basically the same, but one died all the time, the other, never did. |

I've got a new character made, but... I can't get her started. She survives momentarily on each restart, and is quickly dispatched by something. A few seconds ago, it looked like she was going to make it, but... a CTD ended that notion rather abruptly. CRAP! :bang: |
