Maybe I'm a tad thick here, but how do you actually build the place, instead of just paying for it? I found the materials storage chest, and the workbench inside the mine. Since you can order materials, as well as store them, that implies that you can actually build the place like a Hearthfire home. However, all the workbench lets me do, is pay for the individual construction projects. Last time around, I added this late in game so I was flush with gold, and it wasn't a problem. This time it's early on, and I'm still poor! I'm struggling to get enough funds to get it up and running! What am I missing? |

I don't know, I've only just paid to build it as I got the gold. I don't remember now if I ever saw an option to build it yourself. Been a long time since I used that mod.... |

Well, step 6 says to use the workbench to construct the buildings. Unfortunately, unless I'm missing something, all I get is the option to construct "X" for a certain amount of gold. I suspect it's supposed to work like the construction benches at the Hearthfire homes. Maybe my game is glitched. |

Well, I've - as I said - never done anything but pay for construction. Truthfully - the entire HF construction stuff made me crazy.... Even if I had ALL the stuff in inventory when I started, it still took.... WEEKS of game time to build it. Nah, I'm not into any sort of "realism" with that crap. Look at my inventory, see what's there, and JUST BUILD THE SUCKER. Sheesh. Edited by Serethil, Apr 20 2018, 09:05 AM.

:teehee: I'm the opposite. I always enjoyed building the HF houses, and rounding up the mats for them. I actually miss it a little bit with Kirin's story. Elysium is nice, but I'm not a super fan of houses that are just "given" to you. One that I don't mind though, is the Hunter's Cabin of Riverwood. You at least have to clear Embershard to gain that house. |

I've just never been a fan of "reality" in games. I play games to get away from reality.... I do like houses that have some sort of quest to get them, but I don't really appreciate ones that cost more money than many of my girls will ever have - not to mention those tend to be.... well, skyrimlazz's come to mind: not laid out well, absolutely MONSTROUS, and most of them taken up with beds and rooms for all the armies of Skyrim, plus having a whole cadre of NPCs in the way. |

Yeah, I never had any interest in the mansion and castle homes. Too much fluff. |

Though, I do like the ones like Revak, Elysium, etc. that have places to put many of the items you collect. My girls are always collectors. That's one of the problems with Oblivion - there are houses I like, but they don't have places to put stuff. |

I absolutely won't use any that come with followers...I'll pick my own thank you very much. And no castles or mansions...or modern, ugh. |

I am hoping that TES6 has a FO4 like building system. I would really enjoy building my own small cottage with game assets or a hidden underground lair in a cave system like one can do with vaults. That way I would get what I wanted and not be shoe horned into something someone else dreamed up! |

What would be really nice is the ability to find a plot of land in a hold, buy it from the local leader, and build from the ground up. That'd be much nicer than preordained settlements locations. Keep player homes in the cities, too, but give people a blend of Skyrim's homesteading and Fallout 4's settlement system. |

Conventions of the game. Land would have to assigned a flag to be purhaseable and there would most likely be a limit to the number of plots just because of game mechanics. But if there were enough choices of land to buy then it would feel like you could stumble across an area, go see the Jarl or land owner about it and buy it. I'm hoping this "technology" ol' Todd is waitin' for opens up possiblities we've never dreamed of before, but at the same time I'm enough of a realist to know there will be limitations by software, engines, star alignments and of course last but not least SHEO! |

I could understand a limit, and would have no issues with that. I'd be happy with one custom steading as home. |
