because steam is pooky about letting me play Skyrim on my laptop - dunno why, but it wasn't worth trying to figure out either....

Anyway, I've actually spent WAY more time finding mods to make things better (in other words more like Skyrim) than I have playing. But I've done Vilverin today, and started the Imperial Corruption quest after taking care of Thonnir and Agarmir for Jensine.

The absolutely amazing thing is that I still know every turn of Vilverin, and what mobs I'm going to meet round which corner. Jaw-dropping. And I still knew how to handle Agarmir, and what to do with Lurbuk and Ruslan. Guess there's nothing wrong with my nearing-70 memory!

That's cool... my old laptop will play Fable I... (not my chrome book that I use daily)...

My grandfather was 98 when he passed... slow, but full of energy and had all his memory.

Ooooo - there's a mod to make Agarmir's house yours when you've finished the quest line!

I need to play Oblivion more often. I bought it a few months back, and only played for about 3 hours. I just can't seem to find the time between Skyrim and Fallout.

Heh. The best thing about Oblivion? (Aside from having it handy while evac'd that is) NO STEAM.

Steam is highly annoying. I bought Morrowind through steam, since my laptop can handle it, and I detest running it through Steam.

I don't play the only other games I had on steam any more - Pillars of Eternity and Baldur's Gate Enhanced.

I miss my Morrowind that I had the Overhaul mod set up on so it looked almost as good as Skyrim. The computer it was on bit the dust after a very bad thunderstorm that resulted in a brown out lasting over a minute. I may have to load it up on this computer and set it up again. There is just something about the introduction sequence with Azura speaking in the characters dreams that pulls one into the world and then encourages one to going "further up and further in" as said by C.S. Lewis in his last Narnia book.

I still have Oblivion up and running (modded), but I just have such a hard time going back to the moon faced people.

Take a look at Hidden Elves and The n Dywyl, Bram. I haven't got any way to deal with graphics on this laptop, so can't do screenies, but I've got my girls with slim faces, pointy chins....

I'm currently playing Pillars of Eternity, but it's the GoG version. No DRM, no nonsense, and it runs on my Linux machine.

I don't have B.G.E., but I have the original B.G., with the Tutu mod to run on the BG2 engine, in widescreen.

I was responding to this last night when all hell broke loose in my house!

I had a very long love/hate relationship with Oblivion. It took me a couple years to come to love it. I am guessing Morrowind will always be my jam. It's funny to look at my Mods for these games. You can definitely tell what one I like the most! Morrowind, I have like 10. Oblivion at my peak was 187. Skyrim's on console so I don't know but when it does go to computer I imagine it will be right up there with Oblivion.

I LOVE to ride a horse through Cyrodiil. I loved the Ayleid Ruins and my most favorite cave is Sideways Cave.

I hope the hell at home got sorted appropriately! Right now, I have over 200 mods for Skyrim, only about 20 for Oblivion (but that's because this is not a really great laptop - once I can put Oblivion on my desktop, I'm sure I'll have a lot more!)

It’s been a while since I played Oblivion, but each time I return I love it again. I’ve been exploring the Gold Coast in Elder Scrolls Online. It makes me wonder who is still waiting in Oblivion on my PS3. With my laptop on strike again this might be a good time to find out!

Sere, I hope your return home is peaceful and you can get right to modding your desktop game!

I managed to squeeze some Oblivion time in last night, after I got bored of radiant quests in Fallout. I went to the Imperial City for the first time and spent about an hour just walking around and shopping! :bonk:

Sometimes when I get in one of those "moods" (just can't decide what to play) I load up Oblivion to watch the opening scene. I really need to do that for Morrowind as well. They are very inspiring to say the least! :tes:

The Oblivion intro is quite epic. I hope they go back to something like that with VI.

I use Oblivion Character Overhaul

'S pretty great but the faces and skin tones tend to be too "samey" between races. Redguards in particular have a light skin tone and smaller lips than I'd like. I believe there are some fixes but I've never gotten them to work.

Anyways, I know what you mean about modding. The first time I got a laptop that could run it I spent most of my time looking for mods. May have gone a bit overboard but at least now I have a decent list of mods. Of course, now I spend more time fixing issues thanks to those mods. I dunno, sometimes I get the itch and play for a few days.

I have not played Oblivion since my x-box decided to quit working. I have it on PC, because I bought the Anthology, but as yet even booted it up.. I know I need to, I really do love Oblivion.. but <sigh> sooo much to do in skyrim... btw 385 mod's for Skyrim... Aillyn has the most "installed" at 152..
