What does this rule mean?:

- When you engage an enemy, you must kill it or run away. (Meaning that you can't let it run away and heal.)

Does this mean that we can't use Fear or Turn Undead?

Hmm, I feel that as admins, we probably shouldn't be derailing the competition thread. Any objections to me moving off topic posts to Random Titbits?

Also, the following rules seem to me to be redundant:

Once in Helgen Keep, DiD rules apply.. (DiD rules always apply, don't they?)

- No mod that add storage (that includes mod houses). (Covered in "no forbidden mods.")

This was why I tried to distill down the list of rules, to make it shorter and more concise.

That means you can't 'use' the enemy for spamming, if you know what I mean. Gonna edit that.

DiD rules only apply once your hands are unbound.
No, it's not covered in 'forbidden mods', because house mods aren't forbidden. Same for some of the mods that add storage, among other things (for example, Convenient horses).

Okay, I just wanted clarification. I basically "knew" what you were talking about, but I saw that a potential question might arise from other players.

As an example of the problem, if you take the Intense Flames perk in the Destruction tree, an enemy will run away when their health drops below 20%. Then they'll come back, and so on. This can be a useful perk when fighting, because it gives you time to regenerate your magicka, but it also can be useful in the sense of "spamming" the skill.

I disagree with you on the "Helgen Keep" thing. I think that DiD is DiD, and it should apply from the character start. The whole point of starting in the first tower (and not in Helgen Keep) is that it is possible to take damage after jumping from the tower.

On the mod thing, I don't disagree with your reasoning, but I thought that "No mods that provide a player advantage" covered all of that. No big deal.

In any case, I'm fine with the rules as posted for this competition. I'm just hoping that, for the future, we can put together a concise, precise, and numbered set. :)

That 'Helgen Keep' rule has been a 'default' rule for a long time. Some people have died because they stood around outside way too long and Alduin ended up roasting them and, since they were helpless, they felt like it didn't count.

Convenient horses, for example, doesn't give any players advantage, it just gives the followers a horse but it DOES give players storage, which they can or cannot use, if they want.

We'll try to work on making some better rules in the future :)

If I were given a vote on this, I'd vote against the rule against Legendary Skills. (Not that I plan to make any skills legendary.)

That rule, as I explained on the other forum, is in conflict with the round's scoring awards, since you're not really going to see a Legendary Dragon unless you find a way to push your level up to about 80.

The posted score bonuses reward a character being taken to high level, but that rule makes it virtually impossible.

Plus you're making a rule against the use of an intended vanilla Skyrim game mechanic. Making skills legendary is not an exploit; it's the only way to achieve high levels in the game.

Hmm... Yeah, true. I'll take that rule out (where is even my head? :scared: ) (I demand an "extremely confused" mood, because I'm always extremely confused)

I will forever be confused Kane. It just depends on how confused I am ;)

Woo, Rafer! Welcome. :)

It took me awhile to decide. I put my character up so I wouldn’t change my mind any more.

Thanks, Gorn. :)

I hope I'm not coming across as too much of a complainer. I appreciate the work you're doing here, and I know it's a pain in the tutu, to have to keep making changes.

I think the "legendary skill" rule is probably one of those "case by case" rules, depending on the round.
