I disagree. That just gets us back to the old " I Don't want to bother raising my skills, so I don't think it matters if you do, but can't, shrug" Legendary is there to be used.....the crafting is there to make it possible..... But the overall time contraints stops a crafting player from romping away with a super human character for more time than anyone else can even play! And additional handicaps prevent quick access to crafting materials.......its't that punishment enough? I can see what Areial and Grits are Actually CHOOSING to do as they go...but what would Adella be ALLOWED to do....assuming as much preparation as practical before actually fighting dragons in the field? Master is a stretch for me in this round. Jonna has a big build that will take a long time to come together. Plus Master at low levels with perks spread out so much has felt very game-y, which I don’t like. I’m kind of kicking myself for going for points at the expense of her character. Oh well, at least slaying dragons is fun! :D |

:hi: Rick, master difficulty is much easier then Legendary. I, for example, can do it without using no crafting skill! Also, you can buy all of the soul gems you want, filled or not. They're very expensive, especially if you want to raise enchanting high enough to be close to useful on legendary :) |

Thanks Gorny, Ok, I will start Adella off on Friday and add her official entry ( name sex etc) at that time. She will: Buy filled soul gems (for an arm and a leg) Buy empty ones and fill them the hard way Mine and find smithing materials....no purchasing metals or pelts Do lots of alchemy, but no purchasing of ingredients I believe that is now the rules as intended, so I am good to go :) If I got any of that wrong just let me know before the Contessa arrives. |

Short Story: Palanir Level 30, Time Elapsed: 31.05.40 Spoiler: click to toggle Not one randomly spawned dragon so far, but that's how the RNG monster rolls during competitions (also no fast travel cuts down on them spawning as well). P.S. As I can, I will have a much more indepth update in my DID story for Palanir. Edited by Brambleberry, Jul 23 2016, 05:49 PM.

Bram... randomly spawned Dragons are on a "timer"... sleep at night or when ever and you'll get dragons to spawn. Because Fast Travel takes about the same amount of time as walking ( variables on route and other spawns you have to fight...speed of walk etc effect it ) It seem's that Dragon's spawn more often if you FT.. not really so...game time.. IRL time yes. |

Yep, yep they are on a 5 day timer to be exact. I've tested it in previous play throughs about 4 years ago by sleeping 5 days after I killed mirmulnir and then fast traveling to a known spawn point to get them to trigger. However, during competition I wouldn't sleep purposefully to force a random spawn as that would be considered an exploit. Also, I think it is indirect proof that the RNG monster is REAL! Even more so than Sheo, muahahaha. |

Rick and Adella, awesome! Good hunting! :) Jonna is on her way to get the Horn. Level 25 at I think 18+ hours, but it’s been a long day since I looked so that might be wrong. Here's her progress: Spoiler: click to toggle She has two souls in the bank in case she finds more useful Words. Unlocking MFD was a mistake, I should have waited for Kyne’s Peace. ^o) |

Bram, my characters sleep at night, at Inn's or in their home.. sometimes in more secure "cleared" area's ( RP'd as PC and followers taking turns playing guard. Samil is now lvl 7 ( 5.34 hrs ) No Dragons, he just gave Lucan the Golden Claw, is at the Inn sleeping, will travel to Whiterun to hand over the Dragonstone. Stat's Spoiler: click to toggle pictures Spoiler: click to toggle

Rick, for PC players who use the Unofficial Patch, MFD has the “Recover” flag checked plus the effects do not stack. That makes it not very useful against most foes, unlike in un-Unofficial Patched (and console) games where with repeated Shouts it makes them kind of melt before your eyes. Kyne’s Peace can get a character with a low AR (like Jonna) out of trouble with the critters. Sabre cats can hit hard, especially if you’re not using a shield. So can bears. Areial, Samil looks great! He wears that axe well. :D |

Rick, I suggest you reread the posted rules. The rule for this round is that you can do smithing and alchemy "freely." There's no mention of not buying supplies. In my case, at Adept, it's not an issue. My character has not mined anything, but has found enough smithing items in loot to satisfy her meager needs. But at Legendary, I can't imagine it being practical without free use of what is available in-game. |

@Glargg, Yeah thanks, I see the 'use freely' bit, but I thought there was still a 'stipulation' hanging over it.....like you have to only obtain materials that involved some risk to get them. Well....if purchasing metals is ok....then I guess I'd be a fool not to do that....well until the cash runs out of course! @ Grits.... Ah yes....the so called "fixed" MfD by a unofficial pc patch....I forgot that. Despite the malfunctioning MfD on consol.....I feel they have well and truely buggered it up on pc. Its almost toothless on pc. Admittedly the stacking on console is unrealistic and I don't give more than three uses of one word, two uses of two word or one use of the three word for that very reason. But the degree of armour damage it does, offset by the reduction of weapon output on Legendary (one quarter of adept) kinda balances it out nicely for me. I still need around dozen arrows to down a dragon depending upon bow power....during which time the dragon remains totally lethal of course (armour does nothing against magical fire and its three times stronger than adept fire breath...hence the alchemy need :) ). But then...a lot of those shouts are really piss poor for a special power,,imo. Oh....yeah a bit of a pig with MfD on console....if your follower dives in front and catches a dose...it ruins them...making then vulnerable to all physical damage....permanently....with no PC style console command...it can not be undone. You have no choice but to retire your follower :( Yes...And Lydia has a habit of coming from behind and diving in front ! Experimented on Nimhe the big spider.....a set up that kills her with 28 steel arrows un shouted....drops to ten arrows if one shout of MfD is allowed to marinade for its full minute. Two shouts drops it to seven arrows and all three shout words drops it to five arrows. That's a lot less than 28....but you still have to stay alive whilst it marinades in.... So you can imagine with dragons....MfD is a big help....IF you can stay alive long enough to take advantage. Oh...and..um...MfD is VERY short ranged they have to land on a roof and you gotta get right upto the building they are on before youre close enough for it to reach! Just using it effectively is pretty risky. Still......that don't help you on pc....I would agree its a waste for pc players. But don't waste a soul on Kynes peace when you can get Animal Allegience from Ancients Ascent...it can turn chaurus against Falmer and get bears to fight for you :) Edited by Rick, Jul 24 2016, 12:18 AM.

Yep, Animal Allegiance is a favorite. Jonna doesn’t have it yet. Hopefully she won’t get killed by another pair of bears or sabre cats on the way. I think I just talked myself into unlocking Kyne’s Peace and keeping only one soul in the bank! :P In the end they have to be unlocked to count anyway, right? EDIT: I checked this morning, and Jonna just hit level 25 at 19:14, not 18 hours as I thought. Edited by Grits, Jul 24 2016, 07:01 AM.
