ghastley, it seems I was looking for something that didn't exist. I have "Iron Arrow" which requires Animal Bone and Iron Ingot - but I expected it to say "Bone Arrow" for whatever reason. So apparently a non-issue - just me being confused (not unusual....)!

Bosmer are not averse to using wood.....only harming their own sacred forests...in Lore (no, I don't remember where I read it years ago). Bosmer are ok with imported timber and imported wooden gear.

Checkout where Faendal lives! And the bed on which Enthir sleeps....and who in Ivarstead works chopping...wood, for Temba wide-gob.

Ok, a bit of clarification is in order. There will not be a "Bone" category in the forge menu. The arrows made are designated iron, steel, dwarven etc. according to their heads, and will show there. There will be two choices, one to use firewood to make them, and the other to use bone. Dawnguard adds the first, and this mod adds the other. Both result in an iron arrow, or a steel arrow, etc.

Using bone is more a case of not wasting the material, once you're done with home-building. Otherwise, there would be nothing to use it for.

Yeah, got it figured out now, thanks. One other little detail: I kind of think the chairs would look more "sittable" not to mention stable if there was a third mammoth tusk centered at the back behind the hide seat - with just two legs, they look like they'd collapse when you sit.

The tusks are supposed to be stuck in the ground, rather than resting on top of it. Partly that's because the ground is uneven there, and partly because trying to add a third leg didn't work very well. :(

I've seen the thing on imported wood too, Rick.

Imported wood, fallen wood. They just won't cut their own trees.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Pocket_Guide_to_the_Empire,_1st_Edition/Aldmeri_Dominion

These are most of our Valenwood lore.

Keep in mind I think the second link is from Elder Scrolls Online, and therefore new lore. I'm not 100% sure how canon ESO is, but then again, TES "canon" has always been rather... loose.

I'd known that at one time - but as with so much else over the 20 years I've played TES, I'd forgotten that. Thanks for the reminder!

Let's not assume all Bosmer are alike. This is a home for those who feel that all trees are special, and particularly pretty young ladies who don't wear very much, and don't mind posing for the screenshots.

Obviously Faendal, Enthir, and Gwilin aren't among them, but none of those is going to live here.

I copied your vines for fencing.... got a copy of a stone post near High Hrothgar, a copy of stone shelving out of Ustengrav.... Storage is copies of your urns, labeled for whatever, and put on shelves etc, or sitting out by the crafting area.

LOVE Jaxonz Positioner. Couldn't make a home without it!

/needs to preorder Warcraft Chronicles Vol. 2 but doesn't know if I'll be here or in Sweden in March when it releases

I just downloaded Hunterborn for a quick test and discovered that you can enable my bones in its MCM menu by selecting Custom Pelts and optionally Combine with Hunterborn Pelts. That gives you a Manual loot option for the usual death items, which you can choose instead of the Hunterborn process, each time you activate a carcass.

I should note that in the readme.

Bosmer Hearthfires is now 1.0 on the Nexus

I need to add a few more images, but you don't need those to use it.

The Orc Hearthfires... and the reason I am kinda stalled atm...

My only question is, is the courier leveled or will show up soon after 5 "help" quest's are done?
So far Kurdan has mined ( and sold ore) in all four of the Strongholds
Given a sword to a daughter ( sad )
Given the CoW librarian one Shalidor book
** tried brawling in two different strongholds ( seem's that's bugged, takes money but no fighting)
The Cursed Tribe, complete

I'm having some other issues, most are traced back to "Invasion of Skyrim" and are getting worse ( newest version is supposed to be more stable, but I have an old version and to update need a new game) . So basically if the courier is supposed to have already given Kurdan the letter, then I will start over, if not I will wait a bit longer.

He has spent the last two days in Whiterun... drinking at the Bannered Mare...

Couriers can be flaky. My quest adds the letter to the WICourier's "mailbox" container, and trusts it to get delivered.

The courier is triggered by the player changing location, and the Story Manager checks if there's undelivered stuff, and starts a courier if there is. If the courier doesn't find you quickly enough, he gives up, and the courier quest ends in failure. But the next change of location will try it again, because there's still a delivery to make.

That all means you can't sit and wait for the courier, or he won't get restarted, but it also means you can't check the courier quest itself, as it can start and end multiple times before you get the delivery.

I've had others report that some other mod has stopped all the couriers, because it wasn't sharing the "ChangeLocation" event properly, but nobody tracked down which one, so I can't point the finger.

If you did the Cursed Tribe, and have seen the Make Friends count hit 5, it should be on its way. I can probably help you console past the problem if you need it.

Edit: The quest is counting new Orc Friends, so mining for Gharol, and delivering her sword only makes one new friend. Use "show BYOSFriendsCountOrc" to confirm you hit 5. That quest should have finished if you did, so it probably won;t show in your journal any more.

Na... like I said I have other issues as well. Their is no counter at all for the friends quests... hmmm so probably completely borked...I'll run him to Riverwood when I get home from work tonight and see if the courier arrives.

Many people have issues with Invasion of Skyrim...and corrupted files, so... If I can't get the courier to arrive naturally, then I'll just start over. It's not a big deal...well except the time it takes to do everything over again. But his story is at a point where I need the Stronghold ( play wise)..writing wise I have much catching up to do..

One of my biggest issues IS with IoS.. I'm getting CTD's at just about every spawn point for Chiss event's, which is why I say that their isn't much point in Consoling past...as I may end up with other issues anyway.

You can use that Immersive Cheat Menu to speed things up a bit. And you could console in armor and such - the cheat menu doesn't have "items" yet.

Most of you have read Cat Man Dhou's story here (nearly finished, as I didn't play him much past testing), and I'm doing much the same for some of the others. Kothet's Story tells of building the Dremora Tower, and I'm working on another story for the Orc one, as well as sketching out new ones for the others.

Kothet's is being released at Chorrol in larger chunks than Cat Man Dhou, but less frequently. I had a long-running story there about Clark, a junior reporter from the Black Horse Courier, that documented my Oblivion mods, and he crossed over into Skyrim and continued there. Those stories are also collected on my site, for those who prefer to read without the interleaved feedback.

The Gweden Report - all the Oblivion stuff, links to other pages for other mods, too.

The Clark Chronicles - continued in Skyrim.

I find that writing the stories helps to make the mods work better, and vice versa.
