We don't, as yet... have a "Trash Talk" thread here and this can be it if everyone wants.

1st .... I was thinking if everyone want's to, we can have a "Where am I" game, the person who guesses correctly must supply the next picture. This is a mini-game that can involve everyone because it does not need a DiD character. The only Rule are the place must be "vanilla" ( this includes DLC's )
- the Beth Forum did not allow for this kinda game, but I know their was interest every time someone tried to start it.

2nd... Because of the Holiday's October through December, I was thinking in the lines of "themed" competitions, Say in October the DiD competition is "Dead Men Walking"... where ONLY the dead count. The game keep's tract of Undead and Deadra,, Vampires you'd have to keep tract of yourself.
- with a mini-game for all of "spooky pictures", "scariest costume" ( Vanilla & Mod separate)
November do a 24 days ... "Harvest" themed meal, kinda like the 12 day's...but 24 for Thanksgiving.. with a DiD competition that matches... ( I"m to tired to think of a good one atm)
December... Nekkid Nord Sleigh ride ( run ), 12 day's to Christmas, Best Decorated house, most inventive decorations... and a good "in the spirit of Christmas" themed DiD competition.

Let me know what ya think... and don't forget the August and September!

Well, for September, maybe a "back to school" theme...College of Winterhold, with extra points for each Master Skill Quest completed. Points for the optional and radiant quests.

August will be short, since the present competition runs to mid-month. Maybe some kind of limited-time scavenger hunt, or a "naked run."

This is a neat idea!

During this round I was looking at all the miscellaneous quests in my journal and was thinking that would be a cool contest. How many misc quests can you complete kind of thing.

For August as Glarrg suggested a limited time Scavenger hunt...2 week's to complete, but the event itself "timed" so whoever get's all the item's in the shortest amount of time win's... I have two quick idea's on the items.
1.... Dragon Priest Mask's ( only they are point's this round...< 50/50 thought >)
2... all the "Thane" weapons.. with extra points for the Shield's ( NO PC or follower killing of guard's )

And as it is "timed" we all play on the same difficulty setting... Adept or Expert

Anyway that is a quick idea... or just a Nekkid Nord Run, that way we all have time to "chill" before the next round...and do a bit of practice... hash out all the rules...etc.

Saki,
Yay......I'm a moron (as I was told on the other site) so imo lets do naked sleigh runs on Legendary! (Yeah I know how popular that is.....scary).

I like your craptastic channel......I had never heard of SJWs, but I Watched a very entertaining couple of video 'attacks' that had me howling.....Mr. swamp troll versus a couple aguing from a sofa (I presume they were the SJWs in question)......I couldn't put it down :lmao:
Lol oh lord that one.

I'll have to explain it a bit later, but the troll there is from Sweden, a country so bent on self destruction it seems...

And no, moron. I restarted the Assassin comp three times, kept getting killed.

Legendary is no fun when I can't die. :P

CoW could prove interesting. I don't think I've ever got a magic skill (besides enchant) past level 50!

I generally don't level mages because destruction scaling is garbage.

I usually combine skills not relying on destruction... but a combination of several.. getting all of them up, might be a challenge, but..well it IS a challenge huh?

Yeah, I've played a bunch of mages, but I don't think I've ever maxed out any schools except Destruction, Conjuration, and Illusion.

I think it would be fun and different.

I'm just not a fan.

Dropping magicka cost to nothing or next to nothing and then impact stunlocking while spells do paltry damage just isn't fun.

I've tried pet builds with summoned creatures and undead but they just get in the way.

I tend to lone wolf it mostly anymore. Follower AI is dumb.

But magic is so fun! If there's a way, in a game, for me to play with magic, I'm all over it!

I guess it depend's on how one plays, I'm not the hugest fan of "pure" mages, but I do on occasion play them. I have never gotten my cost to 0... but then I don't play a super tank on melee either.

The back to school CoW theme sounds great, but I’m afraid that September is going to be too soon for me to do a big contest.

Rick, I am adamantly opposed to using Fortify Restoration potions in the way you mention. But as I have said before, one person’s exploit can be the basis for another person’s playstyle. It only matters when we try to turn this single-player game into a competition.

In other news, who is planning to get SSE right away? I’m going to get it for PS4 asap, but it will be awhile before I can get a new PC for it. I ask because I wonder how playing the original version will compare to SSE in our games, not to open the door for thread derailment over the worth, etc, of SSE.

I'll be in line on release day. Might even take a day off for it, lol.

I never get to that point either... Mainly because I play with Perkus Maximus/Skyrim Redone and they completely change the skill trees, among other things. And because I usually die around level 30/40...
I normally try to either play a pure mage or a spellsword (light armor, spell and sword/spell and spell/shield and spell/etc). Spellswords are incredibly fun and, if used correctly, overpowered.

One......Destruction magic has to be played at low difficulty if you want it to actually do anything.

Two......passive or defensive spells have a foe level ceiling above which they do not function it seems , like maybe level 50 Death Overlords etc, (the enemy is too powerful to blah blah) but its exactly the top foes you NEED it to work upon.....crazy!

Three......How (as a mage) do you stop an UNEXPECTED, insta kill, ebony arrow from an ebony bow, drawn by a draugr Deathlord in a dark tomb passageway......(I don't want to be obvious, but there are plenty of them, and on DiD you only need one hit to end your run!

Thinking......I suppose you could.......and maybe this IS how its done......
One.....turn up the brightness until everything is fully visable
Two.....cast a summon far ahead every few steps.
Three.....rely on Detect dead and Aura Whisper to show where they are!

FWIW.....in Oblivion....my Altmer, Vulnavia, was always a powerful battle mage...did almost everything magically.....and only on Adept. Skyrim completely changed my entire outlook!

So......are we allowed to drink a (one) restoration potion before relying upon passive fortify apparals......thinking here, its not just alchemy you know....its also fortify one handed.....also fortify say resist fire enchantments, and others. Is drinking a potion to aid other effects a legit practice? Or not? Needs thinking about......I will raise this again if it gets overlooked....its quite significant.
One - Rick, destruction magic can be played on Master and Legendary, easily. If you know what you're doing, that is. Also, with (for example) Skyrim Redone, it's much harder to play on Master/Legendary. Enemies do more damage (Iron sword does 20+ damage, I believe) and armor protects better (the armor cap, with SkyRe, is 900) but there are still people who play as mages with SkyRe.

Two - The spells work on high level enemies, you just need to level the skill tree and put some perks in them (For example, illusion).

Three - We run around like our ass is on fire :teehee: We can also use the shouts, followers, summons, etc.

Rick, the mage fighting is much different then the warrior/rogue fight. Mages need to hide, cast their protective spells, cast a summon, etc. It's hard to do, at first but one gets used to it. Also, brightness all the way up? No thanks. I prefer my game as dark as it can be, while allowing me to actually see what's happening.

Rick, magic in Oblivion (for me, anyway) seemed a bit too underpowered. Now, on Skyrim, it's stupidly overpowered, even on master. If you know what you're doing, that is.

Hmm... If it's not for crafting... Then maybe? Dunno, we might have to make a poll and have everyone decide.

Grit's I think the major way SSE will effect our competition is the mod's that have to be checked.. same as with a PC. Thing's one simply doesn't not think of ( because they never get used) can be advantage mods. Those thing's that console players are used to doing that might be patched.

I love Immersive armors and for the most part the armor's are right in line stat wise with vanilla, except selling cost....that is much more and because bandits and such wear them.... it creates and advantage. I kept "Cloak's of Skyrim" in my load order, but did not pick any up except one Whiterun guard's cape, this was given to Breya's follower, because while they give no advantage in an of themselves...selling them does.

Rick... IDK, I can understand drinking a fortify potion to "fortify" what it's supposed to.. a healing potion to heal, but to use a potion in an unintended way..to benefit, sound's like exploiting ...and exploit's are not supposed to be used in competition ....JMO

Edit: thing's that happen passively are a different story... in order for restoration perk's to benefit, you have to get them, meaning actively work to get them and restoration is one of the hardest school's to level.

Richard...I will watch the videos.....but I have to say as far as deciding about the arcane.....ANYTHING using/relying on mods is not only out for me....but even amongst mod users is a non valid comparison.....because its not a level field.

You can't say that 'x' spell is overpowered for example, if in the next line you say you have a mod which cranks up that very spell.....

Its a single player game.....you mod as you please....BUT....if you are going to COMPARE anything it has to be apples with apples.

I mean...if we did not work that way...I would say the Fortify Resto Loop was a kind of mod (loosely) if you are stuck on console because it changes the vanilla output....as a mod on pc can. Then...if I said I can kill Alduin with my wooden sword...BECAUSE I had changed the vanilla setting for wooden swords you'd rightly say....no it doesn't count, the sword is "modified".

But you could perhaps answer this......lets say you are a master of illusion and you have All the illusion perks (covering all my bases) ok? Can you cast a successful Fury Spell on a Death Overlord at ANY level.

Its not a trick or leading question....if you say an emphatic yes.....I will not only be surprised, but start practicing illusion right now...
