I did Boethiah on my first ever play through. Never again. That was my first TES experience, too, and I had no idea about the lore back then, either. I think I sacrificed Golldir. Never again. |

Ummm think he meant like Bounty quests... you are a mercenary... of course getting the random Merc to let you take the quest, them do it and find another random mercenary ...might be a good challenge. ...tedious, cause of all the running around looking though. |

Well Bounty quests are Bounty quests and I think everyone since Vanilla has done Bounty quests from Innkeepers or Stewards, but Merc quests are in fact separate. I cannot imagine Rick wouldn't know how to get Bounty quests, so it seemed logical he was asking about MERC quests. /shrug |

Well, it this is a reference to my suggestion of "Radiant Mercenary," that was just a label of the character type. I was speaking of the whole spectrum of jarl bounty quests and radiant quests that you can get from citizens, like Amren's sword. I was specifically excluding any quests that are part of a main quest-line, or faction quests. But that could include the random mercenaries, as well as other random encounters that lead to quests (like the Frightened Woman who sends you to Mistwatch.) |

Whats a bounty quest :P Hee hee....yes indeed.....I was meaning Merc quests from travelling mercs....plus you need like speech 70 before they will give you the old "Well if you really want to do my job for me" line! Bounties from stewards and innkeepers and sometimes directly from a Jarl are ok too I guess, but the One hundred Septims seems hardly worth getting out of bed for. But finding Amrens sword or Roggis shield type quests are not bounties of course....are they still hired mercenary quests or just helping out? I would offer that merc quests are those given by a real merc on the road, and the bounties that come with an official Jarl's letter. Everything else is just helping out....mercs have official sanction to operate you see... Edited by Rick, Oct 28 2016, 08:07 AM.

I like the mercenary quest idea. Another way to spin it is to become thane of all the holds, including Raven Rock (counted as when you are awarded Severin Manor). |

Richard it was 8 random skills, plus speech and lockpicking..... the last round we did it. I think keeping the contest to 3 week's and 40 hr's ( or under) would work this time. That would take us to December... where we could do some short games , cause people disperse for Christmas or just plain don't have time with family obligations. |

Yeah...you need 8 randoms to have a chance of getting at least some workable combo. Remembering you might uselessly get say light and heavy armour or one and two handed.....to the detriment of the remaining skills pool. But working with what ya get makes for an interesting and inventive play. We found locks and speech had to be givens for practical reasons....so you're really getting ten skills to play with. Using non chosen skills incurred a steep penalty after the first 2 Points rise 'grace period'....that was allowed due to the risk of picking up a skill book in a non selected skill.
