I don't love him. He's one of the most annoying gits I've ever run across in any game.

I think if we keep it to Book's and other item's that directly benefit a mage ( but no weapon's or armor) then not only does it help a mage, but it give's more item's to collect for points...

But for Staff's....Sanguine Rose...points... Staff of Fireball's ( etc) no points. Staff's one can create one's self, no point's... and Yes Rick, if you help the previously mentioned Neloth, you will gain the ability to create your own staff's. ;)

Edit: He's an arrogant S.O.B....but a useful one

So what we have so far is:

Back to School Theme ( College of Winterhold)
Points accumulate by:

CoW MQ.............................................. 500 points <<~~per quest
CoW side quest's ( one time quests)........250 points
CoW radiant quests ( repeatable**).............100 points
Mastering a School.................................1000 points
Book's:
Regular 10 points with a bonus for whole collections ( + 25 for collection)
Skill books 50 points
Black books 100 points

Unique mage related items 100 points...( Ie Sanguine Rose, Diadem of the Savant) * No weapons or armor ** Can get points for Dragon Priest Masks**

***Drevis Neloran's "Out of Balance" can only be done once...

Time:
25th of August and run through September 25th... 1 month 80 hr's...
** Grit's suggested 2 months and I put in some mini-game suggestions for those that finish early

Time Bonus 10 point per minute under the allowed time. ( Time will stop when you complete the last "Ritual" quest, you may still do book, radiant and other non- CoW MQ quests)
** ie ...you finish all Ritual quest's at 60 hrs..you have 120 minutes left..so 1,200 points

Difficulty:
LvL 1 every one is at Novice
soon as one hit's
LvL 10 kick it up to Apprentice
soon as one hit's
LvL 20 Kick it up to Adept
soon as one hit's
LvL 30 kick it up to Expert
Soon as one hit's
LvL 40 kick it up to Master
soon as one hit's
LvL 50 kick it up to Legendary

General rules apply unless otherwise indicated.

I was going to suggest... IF someone dies and want's to start over, they may...with 70 hr's...die twice...60 hr's...etc... this give's anyone that dies a fighting chance to have a good score

IMO...a two month period for this round would be better...rushing will get one killed fast..that would make it run August 25th through October 25th... and I can spot the mini-games for those who have died, finished OR those of our spectator's who might like to enter one of the contests.
I will probably still do the Mini-games either way...cause they are fun and well fun.

Let me know if I have forgotten anything...

Neloth lives in a giant mushroom....wtf....I think you've been eating odd mushrooms....and....making your own staffs? What!

Why don't I know any of this stuff?

Are we doing the same game?

I think I have some catching up to do......it was bad enough getting Dukaan's mask....exploding spiders.....and having pig riding pygmies chucking spears at me and mummies made of sand.

I just don't know more than I saw yesterday.....a bit weirded out actually.

I think I need to take that place in...a bit at a time......

Edit....I sure hope Beth improves the stability of SSE.....because
I think I am going to need a very (very) big save file...

There's also giant Nirnroots, and a sword that shoots beams of energy when you power swing it. And, if the Contessa likes wealth, the treasure of Haknir Death-Brand is a sight to behold.

Kane....The Contessa certainly does like wealth...most in the form of gems and jewellery, but more than that.....as you can imagine of her....she really gets off on power......its a control thing with her. Dominate your enemies and break their hearts before you break their bodies.

Not surprisingly if you know her, that is dead opposite to my philosophy of keep your head down and slip through life quietly.

So yeah....magic swords and hordes of wealth are definitely to her taste.

Sometimes I Envy her.....yes I do. She does what I can not.....I admire her for that. Adella reckons.... "Chop their heads off first, argue with them second !"

Edit..Areial...starting to Wiki stuff now....Stahlrim = steel-ice. Dragon riding...woooo! But not in Skyrim and not in full control. Yes...theres lots of stuff for me to learn, but....SSE will be upon us and all will be set to Zero....except her soul.

You can ride the dragons in Skyrim. ..only place I've tried it... The Rift is gorgeous from above.... and Yes that was on 360, I have yet to do more than a DB DLC quest here or there on PC.

Rick, I would recommend a quick tour of Solstheim for you and Adella by setting the difficulty down low (don't tell Adella), so you can quickly build your Adella's skills up and then go visit the island at about level 25ish. Take in the sights and sounds and be amazed.

One wee bit of advice: DO NOT let a Riekling Charger hit you on ANY difficulty setting from a full charge, You. Will. Die.

I think there should be an exception to no armor, Azhidal's relics. These should certainly be added. It's a fun quest and the relics are from one of Tamriel's legendary mages.

I'll look at all the armors and see if their could be any other exceptions, cause that is a nice armor for a magic user

One assumes that unique staffs would count as mage artifacts. Things like the Staff of Jyrik Gauldurson, Staff of Magnus, etc. Also the Aetherial Staff, Wabbajack, the Skull of Corruption. Probably any uniquely named staff.

Yep, I know I didn't give a list of examples, but those are the kind that I meant... while one's like "Staff of Fire Storm's" do not count towards points.

I'm still working on a list of the armor's that benefit a mage, there are a few and I am reading each one.

I DO think that you must have the item's for them to count...meaning that a follower can use them, but you can't sell them if you do it doesn't count as a point. With the addendum that if a Deathlord ( or something) hit's you with a shout and knock's it out of your hand and it can't be found...that would still count. Mostly because even with TCL you sometimes can't find things...and consoles can't do that period.

Collecting junk? Store it all in a non respawning container!

Just pick it up at the end if you must have it on you to count.....

Please don't mention toggle commands near a competition page it makes me nervous :'(

Sshh Rick, it's alright.

Alright, gonna start collecting some info for the 'back to school' thread back in Bethsoft. (or maybe the 'Archmage' competition? Seems more fitting, in my opinion.)
