Today I am venturing out once again on my annual greenhouse hop, this is where I invite several friends and other gardening enthusiasts out for the day and we tour the many greenhouses and gardening centers as well as several ma and pa operations which I have discovered over my years in the business and hobby alike.

I now have one of those fancy smart phones that takes pictures so will be trying to document this years trip with photographs today and post to the forum here as the opportunity arises so stay tuned :)

Our first stop on the greenhouse hop this year is a great little spot in the town of Carlise Ontario

I have been visiting this operation and the Proprietor Nina For several years now and she always has something new and exciting in the way of perennials to look at and of course buy :)

A good cross section of perennials with many variety of things like Hosta, Astilbe and of course Nina's newest collection which is rare and hard to find Peony's If you are looking for a special or hard to find peony for your garden or some well grown stunning perennials for the boarder from an honest grower who will take the time to walk you threw the plants as well as tell you how she comes by her stock as well as trials with growing different varieties this is the place you want to check out.

This open air conversation and no pressure to buy sales is quite refreshing and very rare in a business of fast turn around and little information being passed around.

Her operation has several large display gardens which you can view many of the plants styles being grown in large perennial boarders.

Its well worth the trip and this garden center gets high ratings from me.

I will post a review and pictures from our next garden stop tomorrow so check back often for updates

JR's is a commercial greenhouse that whole sales as well as sells to the public, so that being said you can walk into the greenhouse one week and it is full and amazing and walk in the very next week and not see much of anything but empty trays.

This is an amazing place for a great selection of 4 inch pot main stays those being geraniums, begonias and coleus as well as the stand by 48 cell trays full of impatiens. Good prices and one of if not the best spot price wise and quality wise for geraniums. A good selection of veggies available and some real nice specialty hangers and planters as well.

Our next stop was the Terra

These guys are the biggest outfit we visit in the hop and i;m sure need no real description as they are the largest commercial greenhouse operation in the area.
