Ok I think we all know about that timer that pops up and here is the reason why it was installed: TIMER #1 TIMER REASON #2 (same story) Yeah I have no problem with that timer deal and now that I find this story I won't say a thing about it. |

My personal opinion on the matter is that the story was sensationalized to make gaming apear to be the main cause of the death. What you do not hear is how many infants die during the night while asleep which is much more prevalent. If the child dies while sleeping due to asphyxiation does that prove that the parents were neglegant? Probably not, but because this incident happened game companies want to aviod any bad press so they do what is normal to them which is force mandates on the consumers to have a protected liability if that were to happen to them. Next thing you know casinos and bars will become moral and tell their patron, "you know you have spent 2 hours here, I think you need to go home" being that gambling and alchol have destroyed more lives than gaming. Personally I think the reasoning behind it is invalid and immoral because it shouldn't be game company's obligation to teach morals to society, if people want to be neglegant then they can but will suffer for it. I honestly do not think that this would make any difference to the amount of time people play this game, it just works for people to mock it rather than serve its intended purpose. |

That's so sad....People have the right to chose what they do in life. A baby died due to neglect. It happens everyday at every hour. The video game had nothing to due with it. They left the baby alone. THEY LEFT A 4 MONTH OLD ALONE IN A HOUSE, WHILE THEY WENT AND ENJOYED THEMSELVES. Will they pay for their mistake? You bet your sweet ass they will. If the judge doesn't slam them, I know someone else that will. It's as simple as that. On another note: The timer is there for the sake of stress. They longer you stare at the screen the more possiblities for eye damage. That is why I take frequent breaks from the game as most of you know. I have to wear tinted glasses for sitting in front of my computer because I work here. Does it help? You bet it does. The screen let's off UV light that you are not aware of. I bet you, if you were a pair of light shades while playing the game, you will notice a big difference in the stress on your eyes. The doctors recomend that you take a break every 15min. Who has that kind of time?? Wear the shades...you'll look kool too Subject at hand: The game is not responsible. The parents are. They will pay. |

Well currently I have 20/20 vision so I have no eye problems as of yet. I do know one day though I will not be able to see beyond nose , I do take a short break and normally just go sit on my porch and I always try to play with the lights on. The parents are responsible though and not to worry about punishment, that is Korea. I am sad to say that in the US they could probably get off with an insanity plea(that woman who cut off her baby's arms to kill her :angry:(this is a link)(even more upset she is in Texas)), in Korea there is no chance of that. Well other that this we all should get up and move around a bit I am quite sure everyone know the stretching exercises, and wow it is spring time once again looks like I am jogging again (sorry my asthma hates me and the cold or I would jog all year long). |
