TU Rules
By Submitting and Accepting the Terms of Service, you (the user) are required to follow all of the following rules. If you break a rule and say you didn’t read them, or didn’t know about the rule, staff will quote the rule and you will still be warned. 1. THIS IS A PG WEBSITE; PERENTAL PERMISSION REQUIRED IF UNDER 13: TU is meant for people of all ages. For this reason it has been deemed a PG website. Any one may join though. 2. NO MATURE CONTENT: As a result of being a website for all ages TU has a strict policy on mature content. There is zero tolerance for adult content on our boards. This can be verbally adult or actual pictures. Neither one is aloud anywhere. Mature pictures (pornographic) will result in one month suspension, and the pictures instant removal. Adult writing will result in its instant removal, along with a one month suspension. 3. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR RACISM: Any type of racism or something involved with hate groups is not allowed. You are not allowed to have such stuff in posts, sigs, avatars, or anywhere else. This rule counts for any words, pictures, or anything that is trying to be racist. If we see anything racist, your post will be deleted and you will have a week suspension. 4. NO FLAMMING AND BASHING: Flaming is considered an active insult against another member on the board without grounds for the insult other than to be hurtful. Active debates on a topic are allowed. But if it degrades into "a flame war” then staff will close the topic all that participated will be at fault. No excuses for flames will be accepted. If you are having a bad day, do not take it out on other members of the board, they do not deserve it. 5. NO HARASSMENT: Harassment is not permitted at all. Harassment on the board that continues into Pm’s or Instant Messages will be investigated by staff. If you are being harassed, contact an Administrator or Moderator immediately. Harassment constitutes an extended suspension or a permanent ban, depending on the severity of the offence. It can also lead to the harasser receiving the full punishment of law, if need be. 6. POSTING ART WITHOUT PERMISSION: Any sprite sheets, fan art and fan fictions used without the original creators permission gets a week long ban, no warning of any kind will be issued before the ban. The only time you can use someone else’s art/story is if you have either receive their permission, or if it states on the image the real creator, which gives them credit. If you do use them, you must give credit to the original creator. 7. IMPERSONATION: A member cannot impersonate another member at anytime. Having identical user names (some exceptions apply), identical sigs/avatars/user titles, acting/mocking like someone, or anything that falsely states of who you are is not allowed. When a member is found impersonating another member, the person will be instantly banned. 8. POLITICS AND RELIGION: Try not to talk too much on political or religious matters. These topics tend to cause flame wars, and bashing. 9. RESPECT OTHER MEMBERS, AND STAFF: It is of utmost importance that every member receives the highest amount of respect. Staff deserves respect, because they work to improve the forum, and ensure a friendly environment for members to interact. Members deserve respect, because they are the foundation of the forum, and they provide the nutrition it needs to survive. No one no matter who they are deserves to be treated with disrespect. If it is discovered a member is being disrespectful they will be warned. 10. GRAMMAR AND SPELLING: While posting, it is important to post with words, phrases, and sentences that are actually understandable, and hold the ability to be interpreted by the other members. In addition, placing punctuations in the correct places would help also. It doesn't have to be perfect, just understandable. Posting in IM format is unacceptable. Staff also does not accept excessive use of "!!!!1!1!," "!?!?!?," "omg," "roflmao," ect. It makes it harder to understand, and takes away from a well written post. Staff would like to see well written posts; not ones with abbreviated words. If you can not spell well, or have trouble with grammar, talk to a staff member. Staff will be glad to help, if they notice that a member’s grammar, and spelling is perpetually hard to read and understand, said member will be warned. 11. NO SWEARING: Swearing on the board is an ineffective method of getting your point across. Although it is commonly used in ordinary speech, please refrain from using any swear words here. The only time a swear should ever be seen is if it was in a story placed in the Fan fiction section, but even then it is to be marked to have that kind of language in the topic’s title, or at the beginning of the thread. This is still a PG board, though, so try not to go too far out of that range. Swear words are also defined as something said that is rated PG-13 or R. In addition, we have a filter now so attempting to bypass the filter with a swear word will get you a warning immediately. For example, using "fox" as an example, the following would be considered a bypass (includes, but is not limited to): -Leaving any letters opened (f*x, *ox, fo*, f**, *o*, **x) -Swapping letters (fxo, ofx, oxf, xof, xfo) -1337 speak (l=0><) -Replacing a letter in any part (fax, fod, gox,...) -Spelling a word out (F-O-X,...) Abusing the fact that your words are filtered will also get you a warning (using curse words because they are filtered). 12. NO SPAMMING: Spamming is the act of posting useless posts. It contributes to nothing, and it makes a mess. Please attempt to make a full effort in contributing to the board. The only exception to this rule is if you post in the Spam World forum only. Flooding, the advance form of spamming is highly not allowed and will result into a suspension. The following is how spam is defined (includes, but not limited to): -Multiple posting in a row -Flooding the forum with multiple useless posts -Multiple smilies in a row -Talking in 1337 format -Going off-topic in a topic (posts that have nothing to do with a discussion or a topic in general) -Posting pointless topics -Posting mostly in IM format 13. NO TROLLING: A troll is one who comes to the board to actively cause as much havoc as possible and has likely broken every other rule. If one is thought to be a troll, it is an instant, permanent ban. There are no exceptions on this matter. 14. NO HEAVY ADVERTISING: If a member would like to advertise a website or forum, they can do so in the “Ads and Links ” forum. Members are also allowed to put a link or a button to the site in their signature. However, this link button is not to be any larger than an average affiliation button (88x31 or 120x40). Advertising your site anywhere else (other than the “Ads and Links ” forum) is not allowed. Also please don't join TU just to avertise your site. If you do this and if your account is a week old it might be deleted.... 15. SIGNATURES MUST BE KEPT IN ORDER. No offensive or mature content is aloud. Also, signatures must not be more than 450 pixels long (height) and the signature's width should be small enough to fit inside the forum's tables without stretching them (forum width will be set at 500). If it is discovered that a members signature exceeds the allotted area, or contains anything that is not aloud then the member will get a personal message. If the member does not respond by removing what is breaking the rule, their signature will be completely removed with no warning of any sort given before hand. If a sig was completely removed and you decide to put it back up, a week suspension will be given and the ability to put anything in a sig is disabled. Finally, you are allowed a max of 5 blinkies and 5 pictures only. Pictures are constituted as eggs, sprites, banners, and such. You cannot have any videos, radios/music players, and chat boxes. 16. NO ENEMY LISTS: There is to be no enemy lists in a member’s signature, profile, or any other places. Any member found to have one will have it immediately removed, whether it’s in the profile or signature. 17. NO CYBER SIS/BRO TOPICS: These topics hurt people's feelings and therefore, are not allowed. This is talking about polls and/or topics that have one person asking who should be their cyber sis/bro. If one if found it will be closed on the spot, and the creator will get a warning if it is found to be a reoccurring problem. 18. NO LARGE PICTURES: If a picture is larger than 400x400 pixels, it is to be linked. The only exception to this rule is for fan comics (as there will be multiple pictures in a post) and some fan art. 19. ART TOPICS: There is to be only one topic for your art in each art forum except the story section and comic section. This is to keep the forums from becoming cluttered and flooding. 20. REQUEST TOPICS: In a Request Topic, tell the person what you want, do not simply say "I want one". That is not very helpful to the person that wants to help you out. If you are asking for a request try to be specific so they know what you want. It is best to read their first post of a topic to find out exactly what information you need to give. If you do not properly request something the creator of the topic holds the right to report your post, have it deleted, and have you warned if you are a repeat offender. 21. DELETED, LOCKED, OR MOVED TOPICS: If a topic is deleted, locked, or moved, do not recreate it. All staff members will leave a post explaining the reason why the topic was deleted/locked/moved. If there is a possibility they did not leave a post, you can PM one of the staff members and ask. The Staff are happy to close topics at the request by the topic creator. 22. TOPIC PLACEMENT: If a member posts a topic in the wrong forum it will be moved. Repeatedly placing in the wrong forum will result in a warning. If you are unsure where to post topics, post it in the Spam World section, because no topics moved from there will constitute a member receiving a warning. You may also ask a staff member which forum it would best fit in. 23. NO MULTIPLE POSTING: Do not multiple posts in any topic. There is an edit button that allows you to change your post. At times, the staff members will merge the posts and leave a note in the last post you made. Continuous action of multiple posting will result in a warning. 24. BUMPING OLD TOPICS: Replying/voting in an old topic is not allowed. Once a topic is 30 days old it is considered a dead topic. If one is replied in, the topic will be closed on spot. If you resurrect too many old topics you will receive a warning. This rule also applies to the Spam forum section. 25. FOUR WORD RULE: When posting, members are to use at least four words. A simple "Yes" or "I agree" is not enough. It does not help in contributing to the board to post less than four words. Quoting a person and then posting "I agree" or "Yes" does not count for the 4 word rule. Adding (longer post), or other statement at the end of you post to lengthen it is not allowed. They are random words placed within the end of a post so you can bypass the rule. If you want to post, use at least four words that contribute to the forum. The only exceptions to this rule are the chat rooms, the Spam World forum, Role-play forum (unless role-play starter states otherwise), and some fan games defined in that forum. 26. GOOD-BYE TOPICS: Making good-bye topics with the intention of getting the attention of the other members is not allowed. When you say you are going to leave permanently, but returning back the next day is an example of attention. In addition, making polls in the Good-bye forum is forbidden and will be closed. Also, if it is discovered that you have multiple topics within that forum that state you leaving for good, you will be warned. It is not funny seeing members leave, and a warning will be issued if a member deems to be getting the member's attention only, or abusing the goodbye forum. 27. FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN POSTS: Members are aloud to post in any language they desire, but if you post in a language that is not English, we would like to see a translation into English, below the post. We know of no member that speaks every language in the world, so it's good to have a base language that everyone can be guaranteed a post will be in. If you do not provide a translation it will be considered spam however, and we'll will translate it, and give you a warning. 28. USE THE REPORT BUTTON: The report button is there for a reason. It is important that all members use it if they feel a post breaks a rule or is offensive in any way. The report button is not for communicating, only for reporting posts that deemed to be broken a rule. Abuse of the system will result in a warning. 29. VERBAL WARNINGS: When each staff member gives verbal warnings, they edit the post in their own colors and font. It is important that you know who posts in what color. This will help you to know who to ask if you have questions on any warnings, or edited posts. Members are not aloud to edit out a staff members note in their post. If you are caught doing that, you will be warned. 30. WORK WITH STAFF: It is important that all members work with staff, rather than against them. If any member disagrees with one of staff’s decisions, please send a personal message to a staff member, explaining calmly why you do not agree with the decision. Staff likes to hear what members have to say, so please feel free to talk to us though personal messages. Staff does not want to see topics asking why a certain decision was made. If one is seen it will be removed immediately. 31. NO INSULTING TAILS AND COMPANY: Although this is a given, it is required to be said. This is a Tails fan board, because that is how it was designed. Although you do not have to be a Tails fan to join this site, please refrain from insulting him or any of the other Sonic characters (including fan characters). If you feel that you cannot follow this, then please do not come here. You are allowed however to express opinions about games or plots. Also, certain unofficial areas, such as coupling or fan fiction, are allowed, but this can not lead to bashing or flaming. 32. NO ASKING TO BE A STAFF MEMBER: Please, please don't ask to be a Staff member. Doing this in any way well prevent you from ever being one. You might even get a warning depending on how much you beg. If we think its needed for you to be a staff we will PM you and ask If you want to be one. You can also get promoted by winning a mod/admin Nomination. We just want this rule because it gets very annoying when members ask over and over. We can't have everyone on TU being a staff! So think before you ask to be staff. We will just ignore you... 33. HAVE FUN: Have fun! Enjoy your stay here, make friends and mind the rules. We hope you follow the rules and have a good time!
