Well, this is the first thread in the competitive forum. Awesome. This thread is dedicated to all those new Gimmick Pokemon introduced in the new generation. For example, the gimmick FEAR was introduced in the 4th Generation. New Gimmick Pokemon include (in my book) Sableye, Murkrow, and even the evolution stone Pokemon. Let me hear your opinions! My favorite gimmick right now is Aron. His ability is sturdy and you set him to level 1. Give him a Shell Bell and Endeavor too. When the opponent attacks, use Endeavor to gain full health. Then when they attack again, attack and your health should go back up again. That's because he gets 1/8 HP back, and when you're a level 1 that's 100% basically, allowing his Sturdy ability to keep activating. |

I would hardly say the Evolution Stone Pokemon are gimmicks. They are actually effective. Sableye isn't as useful as Erufuun or Leopardas IMO. |

Even though they're effective, I still classify evolution stone Pokemon as gimmicks. Making the pre-evolution of a Pokemon stronger than it's evolution just seems a little strange to me as a legitimate strategy. But hey, if it works for you, it works for you. I'm not one to argue. |

I think the "Aron technique" could also be used with Donphan and Probopass, but Aron's way cooler, so don't bother. |

Oh, wait!! I just remembered two gimmicks. One of them, Aianto passes Truant to the opponent. Then, You switch in Shandera or Dugtrio, and Protect on their attacking move, and boost with Calm Mind or Claw Sharpen respectively, then sweep. THe other one, Desukan gets sent in. The opponent attack Desukan, and gains the ability Mummy. Then, switch in your Slaking, and as they switch out, use Pursuit. And voila! A Slaking with Mummy insetad of Truant. I think this can also be done with Regigigas. |
