read this my 400ex i think has a all stock motor with a diffrnt clutch. i put a drag pipe on it a wile ago after i sold my race pipe. 18 inch rear tires. well i ben thinking my clutch was slipping cuz when i would pop the clutch on the black top road the front wouldnt lift. well today i was looking at my tires and the clutch wasnt slipping. when i pop the clutch the tires let loose on the road n spin. howd i get all that torq? i beet are rapptor 660 n drags. it seems a lil f'd up. confused i can pop it in 2nd n they will still spin on the road. must be magic gas excited |

If the pavement and your tires are both cold, they will spin. When I bought my 450R in march'04 (it was still cold then)it would spin on pavement too.If it's not cold then your a lucky guy because you can dump your clutch off the line without coming over backwards. rock on |

well it is like 20 degrees out. but r raptor and my neighbors 400ex tires dont spin on the road it pulls wheelies. and last year i could pull wheelies on the road when it was like 20 degrees. actuly last year when i got a new clutch put in it was below 0 and i was riding wheelies on the road. and i heard if u lower your rear end to much u will lose rear end grip. is that true cuz i have my swing arm almost lined up with the frame. |

Anything that affects weight transfer could affect traction.Your swingarm could be the culprit.Sounds like a good setup for drag racing on pavement. How does it affect your trail/mx riding? confused |

well i cant take big jumps like this cuz theirs not a nuf rear travel left n the rear. i set it low like that just this winter n all i do is get stuck. i get stuck in 1 inch cuz all i do is spin. and on the road drag on take off i pull like 4 or 5 quad lengths ahead of r raptor cuz now i dont pull wheelies. if i rev it high n let the clutch out fast and hold the throtol on i spin and then it catches grip n lifts the front like 2 inches off the ground. last summer i made a short track and on take off against a raptor and my friends 400ex they took off fast n i sat n spunn n that was on soft dirt ground. gong around the turns too the rear i all spinn happy it wants to come around on me at less i use a berm. |
