An Oddly Peaceful Day

After Half Master Race's adventure through the Savage Frontier, dealing with the Ordaining, rescuing Hekaton, the rest of the team took a break and went to their separate home's until they were summoned for the awarding ceremony.

Holed up in her own home, the Tiefling stayed in her study sorting out books that she had come by during her travels and writing information down that she had learned from the Giant's during her travel as well as taking notes of the various creatures that they had encountered. Stacks of books were laid across her study table, her pet Griffon lay asleep in the corner of the room and the Lamia was writing away at her desk as she tried to recall every single creature that they had faced. She had her notes on the people that she had met, the towns they had visited and her sketches of the different giant runes.

In her home, it seemed absurdly quiet. In such a huge house were only two creatures who hardly made much of a fuss. The place seemed almost spotless as she had just recently gone home and her apprentice had left long before she got back. Lamia laid back against her chair, picking up her goblet from the table and swirled it around before taking a sip of the crushed good berry juice. The Tiefling stood, grabbing some of her books and heading to the shelves to return them to their proper place.

Icarus cautiously strode into the residence--force of habit, although she figured it would be fine if this was the home of one of Kael'thas' friends. It was a beautiful home, very elegant. As Icarus caught sight of Lamia, she dispelled her invisibility and strode forward.

"No, no, Lamia, let him die a bit. I'm sure he deserved this, whatever he did. " Icarus said, walking over to Kael'thas form to inspect his wounds. He didn't look too bad. She rolled her eyes.

"Kael'thas-- stop overreacting. Wake up. " Icarus said, reaching over Kael's form, pinching his nose with one hand and covering his mouth with the other to ensure that he could not breath.

" My apologies, Lamia. I wouldn't have let Kael'thas bother you--but your... apprentice? " Icarus glanced at Ulthware, " He's quite excitable, and he insisted on bringing this one here,"

Glancing down at Kael after a few seconds, Icarus let his nose go and stepped back a few steps. Maybe he was more hurt than she thought. Quietly, behind her back, Icarus traced a symbol in the air which briefly glowed green. It was a sending spell. With the limit of 25 words, Icarus said nothing, except the location of the manor to Merrick Tealeaf.

Merrick Tealeaf

There had been a cart accident near the port district and a number of porters had been injured in the chaos of tumbling barrels and panicked animals. It seemed the whole city was abuzz with talk of preparing for a new adventure to Chult - a land too far away for Merrick to have ever heard of.

He had been called to serve in healing the worst of the injuries and applied poultices & gave medical advise for the rest. Most of the services would be charged to the temple after he reported it, with donations covered by the nobles or those responsible for the accident.

While finishing up on the last of the most previously injured, a quick mental message entered Merrick's mind with a familiar tune. Although all that was sent was an address - not too far away from where he was at the time - he knew that telepathic fingerprint. It seems that Helm's work is not yet done for the day as Merrick cleaned his hands and packaged some extra medical supplies which would surely be needed where he was going to next.

It was a quick jog to arrive in the address that was sent to him. Along the way, Merrick bought a small keg of fruit wine and sausages, hoping to have a meal before his next call to action. His small satchel was filled now with small tokens of appreciation shared by the families of the injured, medical supplies, and the food.

At the address was a simple door, somewhat unassuming but with magical energies wafting out of it. This was probably the place. Merrick knocks

Ulthware greeted the elf wizard's glance with a wink and a smile. When she had cast invisibility, he thought she did it to get away. But she followed him. She's shy, but she digs me, he thought.

"Call me Ulthware, m'lady," he bows slightly as he says this. He set Kael unto a couch and dispelled his floating disk.

Though his Mistress was there, he felt lost in the black haired elf's scowl. He bet she has a tight ass. Her legs were so long. The tiefling wanted to worship every inch of them from her toes until he reached her-

His daydreaming was interrupted by a knock on the door. Ulthware bowed deeply. "Excuse me while I get that."

Ulthware opened the door to find nothing. Looking left and right yielded no results. Then he finally noticed it. A halfling stood before him. "Good morning good sir. What brings you to the fine house of Mistress Lamia Daerva?"

"I am Merrick Tealeaf. I've received a... tip. That my services would be needed at this address." Merrick looks up towards this human - another wizard? Takes one to know one. "Would you be acquainted with an Elf named Icarus? Likes to wear red, and has a gold ring on all the time.

After brief introductions, Merrick stepped inside to immediately see an injured elf bleeding on the couch.

At a glance, the condition of this patient was terrible. Merrick rushed to the side of the couch, ignoring the conversations going on around him as he immediately inspected the elf.

Severe blunt force trauma. His ribs are broken in 3 places, and his elbow is snapped backwards. There could be some internal bleeding that needs treatment now, and there will be bruising all over his body.

"This patient is in critical condition. No-one has even stabilized his condition before I arrived?"

His holy symbol quickly pulled out, holy radiance shines around the cleric "In my sight and with the grace of Helm, this is not the day you die."

The bruising on the face of the elf visibly clears, his ribs slowly twist and snap with audible pops while his arm spasms into the proper position. There are still blood stains all over his body and the couch, something that they always omit from stories.

AHH. THAT WAS HER NAME.

The halfling seemed like the trustworthy type. "Of course Master Merrick. Come inside please. Your services are required."

With that, he ushered him inside, watching the halfling work while this "Icarus" looked on.

Icarus frowned when she heard the door-- Merrick must've been around the area.

"Merrick--it's good to see you. No, I haven't. You know I'd sooner be able to break Kael'thas' neck than be able to 'stabilize' him." Icarus said as she took a step back to give Merrick space to work. Leaning against the wall, Icarus crossed her arms beneath her chest, watching Merrick work. She had traveled with him for a bit, with the whole giants thing, and he had proven a useful ally--well, after she saved his naked ass from the Yakfolk. He had to raise her from the dead once or twice, and it was always more reassuring when he was around.

As soon as he pulled out his holy symbol, Icarus winced, retreating into the hallway they had come in by, away from his 'holy light.' Oh, the light didn't damage her, but with the amount of time she spent with the undead, she flinched in the light, knowing what it did to her little pets. She could feel the book in her bag react too--Icarus took a few more steps away from the light.

As the light faded away, Icarus stepped back into the room, looking over Merrick's shoulder. The cleric's healing abilities had done wonders for Kael--a few bruises here and there--still very pretty.

"Meet Kael'thas Inverse-- my old apprentice. And as I say this now, I do believe I must've been a failure as a teacher, if he couldn't even survive a fall like that easily." Icarus muttered to Merrick.

"It's nice to see you too, Icarus. He is lucky that I was nearby or we may be looking for some diamonds instead of bandages. "

Merrick turned as he stood to look at his friend and savior. He has gone through dark times in the company of the Heartbreakers, and they have saved each others lives enough for him to go through fire or ice if they needed it.

"Do you know what caused this? I don't think a simple fall down stairs would cause injuries this severe. I am expecting an elf shaped hole in the ground wherever he fell, to be honest."

Raising a bandage high, Merrick continued "By the way, could you do something about the blood? I need to wrap him up to prevent any infection and it would be a great help."

The young sorcerer dashes through the forest, aware of the manticore chasing him. Eventually, he is stopped by a mountain wall impossible to climb. He turns around, ready to fight the threat.

"Bring it on furball." Kael says as he weaves his magic.

The manticore charges towards Kael, who's arms are surrounded with green lightning.

Right before claw and violent mana meet, Kael jolts awake.

"Bash'a no falor talah!" Kael screams as he sits up and punches the air. A green ray shoots from his fist, disintegrating everything that blocked the ray's path.

Kael looks around, confused with his surroundings. He could not remember anything, save for a familiar elf.

"I know your face, Icarus?" Kael says as he grabs her hand. He wasn't sure if this was all real. He needed reassurance. "Where am I? How did I end up here? Who's everyone else?" He asks.

Suddenly, Kael shot up as though he was vaulted from the couch. Before anyone could do anything, green rays of light shot from his hand, disintegrating a good part of Lamia's wall. Icarus eyes went wide, moving backwards to avoid any more spells from Kael, but before she could do so, he reached out and grabbed her hand.

Not wanting to trigger the shell-shocked sorcerer, Icarus gave Merrick an I-told-you-so glance as she knelt down to put her hand on Kael's shoulder. "Yes, it's me." Icarus said, glancing at Merrick. What was she supposed to do with this one?

"You're fine--you fell from the sky, we took you here--this is Lamia's place. It's safe. This is Merrick--he's a cleric. He says you're fine, but still pretty beaten up. Now, for the love of Larethian, calm down. " Icarus said as she disentangled her hand from his, patting his shoulders for him to lay back down on the couch.

"Just... just don't do that again." Icarus said, rubbing her forehead. She was starving, and now Kael was in this state. She would've never admitted it out loud, but the sorcerer was powerful, and the last thing they needed was for a powerful sorcerer to not be in his right state of mind.

" We're not sure how you ended up here? But you're safe now. Stop disintegrating things. "
