Haven't played it enough to give a true answer. I think it's a very good looking game, I just wish that combat was more twitchy. |

yea cast time is a little slowish but that may change at higher lvls, otherwise its looks cool im only lvl 14 so havent seen everything. i do like the variety u can get in random rewards/gear and being able to custom your class looks good. |

Aion is nothing ground breaking, ncsoft seem to have actually learned something by putting the good points in all the successfull MMOs, from the Story Line point of view of Diablo, to the Raiding System of WoW, to the class structure and skills of Lineage 2, and PvP mechanics of Guildwars.. I Like aion atm, In version 1.0 PvP is slacking alot as there is not much incentive for players to be in abyss all the time but i expect NA release of version 1.2 to be pretty good, with instances being Race vs Race, as appose to Race vs NPC.. Flight System, Stats and general game mechanics seem very well done, a mixture of the simple Lineage 2 Formula's. I would definately say overall.. Aion is better than Lineage 2, WoW, FFX and almost every MMO i can think of.... L2 will always have the best End game pvp due to the setup of being able to kill absolutely Anyone but the game itself is booring as fuck and you have no incentive to Hit F1 F1 F1 F1 for 10h straight per day for 3months... Camping Bosses 4-8h doing Nothing but looking at the screen Aion gets a nice healthy 9/10 from me.. Personally, i think the only MMO fans who will say they dont like Aion, are the L2 Guys who like to Bot 24/7 and Login to PVP then Logout... Edited by Jurgen, Jul 4 2009, 09:48 PM.

Yeah its definitely just the L2 guys who havent put more than 30 seconds of thought into another game who will say they don't like it, when they know nothing about it. Maybe some WoW PvE raiders might not too. |

Aion is better than any mmo out there because it has everything. It looks beautiful WHILE running VERY smoothly on most computers who arent 6 years old. The combat system is fun and never boring. Classes are balanced and they are all fun to play without exeption. NCsoft didn't make the mistake that blizzard did by making skills and formulas work the same way for pve and pvp. The way Aion is built leaves a lot more room for better balance in both pve and pvp aspects of the game, just like GuildWars. The game is simple like L2. It has no stupid complicated formulas for no reason, no internal hidden cooldowns, none of that VERY FUCKING POINTLESS bullshit that Blizzard created. Edited by Almador, Jul 5 2009, 05:06 AM.

Pre cast? Hmmmm Do you mean Casting a spell when a target is in distance, then the spell Will continue to finish casting even if they are out of the range? At the cost of 30% MP pre casting, then 70% of the MP when finished.. I think thats it. |

anyone done enough PvP yet to give me a good run through of Aion's PvP system? General feeling, pro's cons' and comparisons to toher games would be appreciated Been trying to get the China thng to work tonight but it keeps giving me some kind of error that I can't read while installing it xD Edited by Agony, Jul 6 2009, 02:38 AM.

Check this vid out, its pretty good by Mystic of RQ. http://www.RQClan.com/aion2fixed.zip The PvP is pretty fast, its already 50% damage equal to PvE, so in Patch 1.2 they decreased the damage even more, but left heals the same. Each class is good at something, I mean of course in mass PvP Rangers and Sorcerors will be the best killers, but what's great is any ranged skill, any debuff, pull, etc...are all at the same range, so say some Ranger group is trying to kite you (they can shoot on the move), you get your templar to pull him and everyone burst him and take them down 1 at a time like that. Healers and buffers are important, and so are resses, one thing I don't like is that anybody can buy rez stones and res with 4 sec cast the same as a healer, just a little longer downtime. However when you get rezzed, you get a debuff that decreases run speed significantly, you have 10% hp/mp and a cap on your max HP, so you are gimped when rezzed, but you can still do something (you would really only want to rez healers and ranged classes mid-fight). The great thing about random RvR is one of those rifts open that take you to the enemy territory, somebody links the location of the rift in chat, people who want to PvP go run through, you start to form groups, and its usually the same people, like the last few days I've been going to PvP, and always ending up with the same people, even though theyre out of clan (playing with a pretty cool guy from Teon)...and when you go over there you just hunt enemies, and eventually they will shout that theres a party of enemy, link the location, then people will chase you (often high lvls :(), and you'll set up kisks (obelisks which people can bind to spawn at with a limited number of uses....for sieges you can buy huge, expensive kisks with a lot of hp that a whole clan can bind to, and the enemy can attack them), and we just PvP back and forth, and its usually against the same enemies, you'll always recognize the same names. no what i mean was like in L2 when you're in the middle of casting Tempest, you click/press Hurricane and it'll cast Hurricane right when its done casting its first spell... In WoW it had something like that as well but could only do that when the first spell was almost done casting |
