THE CONSORTIUM OF STRONSAY DOCKYARDS (CSD)

CSD was formed in 1978 to help manage the Stronsay shipbuilding industry. It saw the three largest shipbuilding companies join forces to share larger projects and to optimise chances of gaining non-domestic work. The consortium gives each company the freedom to compete for work from domestic companies, however encourages co-operation to keep costs down and shorten delivary on international projects, thereby giving Stronsay a competative edge over many rivals because of he relative speed at which they can provide ships contracted to them. The Consortium is made up of the following;

*Scotia Dockyards - based at Peterhead. It is the largest of the nations dockyards and has provided the majority of the navies vessels since 1961.
*Hebdon Dockyards - based at Muirhead. It was founded in 1797 making it the nations oldest still operating dockyard.
*Heylor Dockyards - based originally on the island of Heylor, it is the smallest of the three dockyards and began servicing local fishing boats, a practice it still maintains. In 1965 it opened a mainland dockyard.

The companies have a number of "off the shelf" designs ready to serve the needs of any customers, however they are also open to commissions and welcome the oppurtunity to bid for projects for both civilian and miliatary needs.

We would be more than happy to provide the vessels and registration requested. We would however need to know details of how these are to be delivered, usual practice is that our in house maritime experts deliver it to a port of your choosing in your nation where upon they remain with the operating crew for a week to ensure a smooth handover and to work out any post-constuction issues discovered. We will be happy to commence construction upon confirmation of delivery details and receipt of 50% of the final balance, 25% of the remaining balance to be paid upon completion and the final 25% on successful handover.
We hope this meets with your satisfaction.
