Hello PTAE Friends!
It is almost time for Fall classes to begin! Registration will be tomorrow afternoon (September 1) in B-100 from 4 to 7 pm. If you are interested in taking classes with us this fall, but cannot attend registration, please contact us at 609-1026 to make alternative arrangements.
We've had a couple of changes to the class schedule. Ballet I and Jazz I for 8-12 year olds will now be combined into a single class which will be held on Fridays at 4:00. Tap I has been moved to Fridays at 5. Although this is different from what we originally planned, it should actually prove advantageous to those beginning dancers who do not have the time to come two days a week. Now they may be introduced to Tap, Ballet AND Jazz in a 2 hour time period.
We are extremely excited to announce that our new teacher for these beginning level classes will be our own Alisha Ragon. You may have seen Alisha onstage recently in her role as Louise in Carousel. A multi-talented young lady, Alisha is a Junior at Francis Tuttle in the Biomedical Science Program. She has been dancing with us since Poteet's very first dance class 5 years ago. An advanced level student in Ballet, Jazz, Pointe and Tap, Alisha has danced under the direction of Sherri Smith, Robert Reed, Andrew Palermo, Jennifer Rosson, Kim Loveridge, Hui-Cha Poos, Karen Voyles and Jessica Biddy. Alisha has dreams of being a surgeon AND a dance instructor. We are thrilled to be able to help her along one leg of her journey here at Poteet.
In addition to the changes to time slots for Beginning Dance, we will NOT be offering Hip Hop this semester. A final, revised schedule is attached to this e-mail. If you are unable to open this file, please let us know.
GREAT NEWS! We will be providing free childcare service during the Monday night YBB and Thursday night Yoga classes. So.....busy Parents.... you have no excuse NOT to treat yourself to one or both of these rejuvenating classes.
Monday night's Yoga Booty Ballet (YBB) is a unique combination of meditation, stretching, cardio dance, strength training, and Hatha and Kundalini yoga. You will leave class recharged, refreshed and well on your way to a healthier, happier you!
Thursday night's Yoga for Life can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages and fitness levels. Based on a combination of Kundalini and Hatha yoga, we will explore your inner energy centers (Chakras), combining poses, breathing and meditation to give you a full mind-body workout.
In today's busy world, we are all looking for more energy, less stress, and a heightened sense of well-being in our lives. Both of these classes are fun and uplifting, and will help you discover a pure form of energy that will radiate from your core, connecting your heart, mind, and physical being.
These classes are offered as our gift to you for only $20 a month for one class per week, or $30 for two. Treat yourself this semester to a night or two of rejuvenation. You'll be glad you did!
Many thanks to Stephanie Greenwald and all the wonderful ladies who attended the dynamic self-defense for ladies workshop last Saturday. We are hoping to be able to offer another workshop and/or a regular class sometime next semester.
That's all for now! Hope to see you all tomorrow at registration!
