The Kingdom of Great Lennington
|
![]() To celebrate His Majesty's birthday on September 9, the Government of The Kingdom of Great Lennington has announced the introduction of a brand new flag for the country. The previous flag, featuring a blue crown within a yellow cross, itself over a blue background, was adopted when the de facto monarch Maximilian I ascended to the throne in 2013 after his father, the president of The Crown's Court, conspirated to start an absolute monarchy on the country. This period, today known as "The Dark Age", was characterized because of the outlawing of popular elections, the country's poor civil rights, strong economy, and poor political freedoms. Once the constitutional monarchy was again established in 2017 after a popular rebellion, former king George III ascended to the throne again, and called for elections to decide the country's first Prime Minister in four years. Since then, the country has been slowly getting better and better. The elections were again made legal and obligatory, political freedom was restablished, and the country is more liberal and advanced. To celebrate this new era, the country thought the old flag should be replaced by a new one reflecting the bright and hopeful future awaiting for The Kingdom of Great Lennington and all of its citizens. |
