EMOTE ROLEPLAY

There can sometimes be a little bit of confusion about what emote roleplay is so I wrote this short description that people can refer back to. Emote is the standard at this roleplay, so this should be your bible, especially in combat situations.

Realism

The fundamental principle of emote roleplay is that it's realistic. That means not spamming someone without giving them proper time to react. That means having realistic motivations for attacking someone or doing something. Just going up to someone and spamming them is not realistic and not a representation of your character's power; that's your OOC typing ability.

You can't dodge every hit. You can't connect every hit. You can't resist every psychic attack. There are going to be some things your characters aren't good at. That means not always being the strongest in every situation. Good emote roleplayers know when to take hits, when to miss hits, when to not be the best.

Mutant Levels

Every starts out as either a Delta or Epsilon level mutant and you progress through the levels. It makes sense that two mutants with the same power - one a delta level mutant and one an alpha level - would find a power imbalance in a duel if they fought. The alpha mutant would have the upper-hand, being stronger, having less limitations, etc.

Combat

Emote doesn't always mean you do one line, I do one line, then you do one line, etc. That can get old quick. It does mean not trying to overpower the opponent with speed, though. It means generally gaining their consent for negative actions against their character. In combat, if it makes sense to hit someone, roleplay hitting them. You don't need to then type "did that hit? []". If you find that easier, that's fine - just use your common sense when it comes to roleplaying.
