The Phoenix sits on a nine acre stretch of land owned by Aeredhella Spellweaver. The main tavern building looks out onto the main road of Cormyr which leads to the castle, an iron wrought sign was moved from the original building, and planted in front, in between two marble pillars. A grand sized stone building, built by dwarves out of black smooth basalt while its owner was away, its intricately carved double doors stand fifteen feet high, allowing the entrance of many of the larger patrons the tavern receives. Two large, long, rooms are attached to the back of the main room with doors that can be shut for private parties or meetings, though most regulars would recommend asking the owner’s permission before doing any business that might be taken poorly. The bar sits on the right wall, a long stone island complete with stools and shelves carved underneath that are accessible by the bartender, as well as a large mirror and shelves lining the wall behind, typically filled with a wide array of liquor. Glasses and mugs hang from the ceiling in a cast iron unit built by Xesddathu for the first inn.

The door to the kitchen is to the right of the bar, which also features a door to the outside, though not for public use. There is a side entrance to the right of the fireplace as well, which leads to the stables. There is a wine cellar, which is controlled with an enchantment to keep it cold, though also holds cheeses and other items necessary for the inn which opens up in the kitchen. A large fireplace sits in the wall on the right hand side of the inn, with comfortable chairs resting in front. There are a large array of stone tables and chairs, some meant for two patrons, others for four or six. With enough strength the square tables can be pushed together for large parties. The back of the inn features a mirrored set of the same double doors of the entrance, though these lead out to a courtyard. Large windows frame the door, as well as being placed strategically for viewing of sunrise and sunset, with heavy drapes that can be drawn to block light at a patron’s request.

A statue of a quickling, a reminder to the patrons of the phoenix to behave themselves, observes visitors entering the courtyard. Although it never moves, some guests have commented that its eyes seem to follow them. The courtyard features a beautiful garden, almost maze-like, filled with a wide variety of beautiful flowers, and with high stone walls enclosing it from the two back tips of the main building. Inside the courtyard rests Aeredhella’s home. A towering spire, ten stories high made from white columnar basalt, with a hatch up to the roof which can double as a landing pad for flying visitors. Deep within the tower, protected by spells cast daily by her personally and likely watched over by Ilmarinen himself, rests the spellbook given to her, only taken out when she is using it or supervising its use by someone she has made an arrangement with. Inside the courtyard is the only way into the guest rooms, a large magical portal that sits in-between the entrance to the courtyard and the mage’s tower, its mate in the center of an otherwise unmentionable stone building.

The guest rooms are similar to those of the original Phoenix, except for their number and walls made of the same smooth black basalt as the tavern, instead of wood. They are arranged in a two story square building, a hallway on each level, a stairwell both inside the building and leading from each side out to the courtyard. Each features a large bed with comfortable blankets and pillows, a wash bin, and a chest for storing personal items during the guest’s stay. Windows overlook the courtyard, the outside walls pure stone. If the guest wishes they can order breakfast the night before, and have it delivered. In all of the hallways, and in the main tavern, the sconces from the original phoenix and a few additional ones recreated for the renovations are lit by Continual Flame. There are also the remains of the old wine cellar, the only opening in the courtyard, used for storing various items needed. Over the courtyard, Web spells stretch across the opening, to catch any would-be burglars. Alarm is also set at appropriate intervals, programmed to be activated when anyone enters by any means other than through the portal.

The stables are large enough to fit a number of horses in individual stalls, with a separate area for special familiars and followers, even those who accompany patrons to the tavern for a short time. Straw, water, and food are changed regularly throughout the day, or by request. The stables sit on the border of the acre next to the tavern building, surrounding that acre and another next to it is a wrought iron fence to keep in the horses while allowing them room to graze if the stable doors are open. Three of Aeredhella’s nine acres are designated for the artisan school, the headquarters of which were built according to the plans left behind next to the old Phoenix building. Ky Orde’lin owns the property on the other side. Sizer Redooth owns the property across the road from the old Phoenix. Circling the property owned by Aeredhella is a trench, which will be turned into a moat in the future, and possibly will turn into a power and water source for the Phoenix as well as the artisan school.
