Big controversy about the first Panama goal (the second of the game) as it appears absolutely nowhere even close to crossing the line but referee (possibly on the advice of his AR1) allows the goal to stand. Rather crucial mistake made because Panama's 2–1 win means they qualify directly for the World Cup finals while USA is ousted. Guatemalan referee Walter Lopez Castellanos already had minimum chances of making it to Russia in 2018 but after this controversy and lots of media attention on this I think his chances of being selected for the World Cup is done and dusted... Realistically no chance of being selected ahead of (at least) Aguilar, Geiger and Orozco/Ramos Palazuelos and more so after this significant mistake... Here's a link to the video of the situation :

2 huge questions also arise out of this entire ghost goal episode... Why wasn't GLT used in such a crucial match at the Panama City? Also how can it be possible that technology is used in one competition and venue and not in the others? Such crucial games like WC Qualifiers cannot just be played without (at least) GLT... FIFA really needs to look into their ways now at the earliest!!
