In one of IGN's featured "Cheers and Tears" articles about the Nintendo DS RPGs, they gave Mega Man SF 3 a pretty bad review:

Same old, same old.

Capcom's currently competing for the Guinness World Record for most unnecessary sequels in a single franchise, as Mega Man Star Force 3 (available in two different editions, mind you), is the 1,453rd Mega Man game released in the past two decades. Is that enough for the company to claim the title? Not yet. Natsume's still beating them with Harvest Moon.

The problem with the Star Force series is that it's all so much rehash after all these years -- there haven't been over a thousand versions, but there have been nine. In eight years. And many of those have shipped in two or three different flavors. There's nothing to differentiate any installment from any other any more, and only the most hardcore of Mega Man fans have had the patience to last this long.

If you're one of those few dedicated followers, though, more power to you. And there's going to be more where this one came from, guaranteed.
