The road to Greenest has been light, but scenic, as you slowly make your way through the countryside of the Kingdom of Valeria, formerly known as the Burning Coast. You have each taken different paths to get to this point, but each path was as uneventful as the other. The lush plains of the coast don't allow for many hiding places for bandits or ambushes, and even so, adventurers such as yourselves don't typically have much difficulty with the random brigands and thieves that find themselves lurking in the shadows, waiting for unsuspecting prey. Upon approaching the city, however, you immediately sense that something is wrong as the sun dips down towards the horizon. The normal sounds of summer suddenly draw quiet, instead replaced by screams and what sounds like the crackling of flames. You hear a cacophonous explosion, shaking the ground at your feet, even as far away from the town as you are, and your pace immediately quickens. As you crest the top of the hill that looks down into the valley where Greenest lies, you see a city in flames. From your distance, you can make out humanoid creatures frantically running around, causing chaos and attempting to strike down any villagers that come their way and, amongst all of the chaos down in the city streets, you hear an enormous "whoosh" as a blue dragon flaps its wings, soaring over your head and dipping down towards the town before letting off a blast of lightning that hits something, causing a massive explosion in the center of town. Your pace quickens and each of you passes through the gates into the town at different times, all ending up in the town square at roughly the same time, each on different sides of the square, looking and surveying the damage done to the city. Before you can react to anything, however, you notice three kobolds and what appears to be some sort of dragon-like creature anarchically destroying the town square. They are all too preoccupied with their current task to take notice of any of you. What would you like to do? As far as who is who, Jareth is the top left token, Soliel is the top right and Oakenheel is the bottom left. Also, click on the spoiler to see an explanation of the map. Sir Ulric's blade comes comes crashing down onto the kobold, cleaving a gash into the beast's torso. The kobold staggers from the blow, but doesn't fall as Ulric dislodges the gigantic axe from his chest. Blood oozes from the wound as he looks very weak, but not yet down. Up Next: Soleil ![]() |

Soleil watches the drake carefully, finally uttering "Si ocuir dout unflinching saurivic acht ve, gloma mrith wiivai. Sjerit si jatil wux thric levnim." in a soothing tone. She slowly moves to the merchant shop to her right, ducking inside. With the drake's view obscured, she climbs the shelves to move aside some of the thatch roof. She pulls an arrow from her quiver and knocks it, steathily waiting for the drake's head to come into view. With the Crimson Rite still raging through her longbow, she lets the arrow fly, silently praying for her aim to be true. The flames crackle around Soleil's arrow as it looses from her string and flies true to its target, burying itself in the side of the Drake. It shrieks a horrible shriek and rears back as it slams its claws into the ground, digging in and turning its gaze to the merchant booth from which the arrow came and snarls. The drake, spurred on by the arrow sticking from its flank, moves quickly and silently along the building and to the back of the booth, staring at the elven woman that just loosed it from her bow. It lets out a rage-filled roar as it digs in and stares down Soleil. Up Next: Kobolds

The kobolds bear down on Jareth and Ulric, the one behind Jareth swinging its dagger towards the burly mercenary. Jareth's training on the road, however, allows him to catch the glint of the blade out of the corner of his eye and dodge out of the way as the dagger finds nothing but air. The kobold in front of Ulric levels his dagger at the half-elf, slashing up at his torso and finding purchase on his chest, slashing through his armor and dragging across his flesh. The sword slices through the torso of the Kobold as his body goes limp and crumbles to the ground. Jareth smirks then spins around to face the Kobold that has engaged Ulric and slashes at his chest in one fluid motion. [result]3&3,1d20,0,3&1d20[/result] + 4 + 2 to hit. As Jareth slashes at the second kobold, it catches the glint of his swords from the corner of its eye and throws up its dagger, deflecting the blade at the very last moment and snarling at him as his attention turns from Ulric to the other man that just attacked him. Up Next: Sir Ulric

Ulric glances down at the slashing wound he suffered at the hands of the kobold he attacked, the adrenaline racing through his veins. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots the dead kobold struck down by the stranger to his left. Quickly scanning the situation, he sees the drake moving across the square, further into the town. With his battle axe lofted overhead, he lets loose the scream he'd been withholding, sending the axe in a diagonal slash and hoping to cleave the kobold in half. Stunned by the swordsmanship of the human now standing next to him, Ulric is momentarily caught off guard as Jareth's slash fails to find purchase on the kobold. Regaining his senses, he swings at where he thought the kobold to be; however, his axe finds nothing but the cobblestone street as the kobold was able to see the attack coming from a mile away and deftly sidestepped the massive axe.
