Jareth

Jareth debates whether to help her stand, or for that matter even to trust her. In the end he decides he has very little choice at the moment. Jareth goes to Pike and gives her a shoulder to lean on, helping her stand.

"What do you know about what's going on, Pike? And where did they go? It's time to end this one way or another."

Soleil Moonshadow

Soleil puts her bow and arrow away as she watches Pike and Jareth. She looks to Ulric with curiosity.

"Unless anyone knows how to pick a lock, I suggest we take her to Castellan. Ulric, can you carry her since you're the nice one?"

She looks at you, Jareth, with very weary eyes.

"I don't know much. I've been down here since last night. I heard them say something about a cave somewhere outside of Eldritch but I don't know where. It sounded like it was someplace important though. They said something about dragon eggs. That was all I heard though."

(anyone else who wishes to make an insight check can as well)

Sir Ulric

Ulric scoops up Pike in his arms.

"Chivalry is not dead, and by Arashu, I will get you to safety. I do need to know, however, if there is anything else you can tell us."

Ulric - Your divine connection with Pike, even though you serve different gods, gives you an innate ability to sense her intent. As such, you sense a genuine sincerity to her words and are certain that she is not hiding anything.

"No," she shakes her head. "I wish I could be of more help, but the governor and I were secluded down here. We didn't hear much."

Soleil Moonshadow

Soleil nods to Ulric, his evaluation confirms the feeling that she got earlier. She then begins to take a look around the room for any clues they might have overlooked.

"I just want to be sure we didn't miss anything before we take her back. But as soon as we drop her off, I think we need to see if Cas knows anything about this cave so we can head that way."

Soliel - All told, you find about 21 gold pieces amongst the rubble and the crates and barrels down here. As you're searching, however, you feel a very faint breeze coming from behind the crates and barrels. It takes you a moment, but you're able to find a spot to look past them and you see what looks to be the frame of a doorway.

Soleil Moonshadow

Soleil pockets 7 gold pieces before handing Jareth and Ulric their 7 pieces. She goes back to the crates and barrels, shoving them aside to reveal the doorway.

"Well, looks like I found how they got out of here so fast, not to mention how they've been coming and going."

She sighs heavily as she looks at her companions.

"If we had come down here first instead of going to the 'governor's office', he might still be alive."

Soleil leans against the wall, the weight of what their actions and Pike's words weighing heavy on her.

"For what it's worth Pike, I'm sorry. Now since you're certain the gnome that took your place had pink hair, I'd like to clarify. She's Jamna Gleamsilver. Her and her sister came to my father many years ago when he was holding the Moonshadow seat on the Royal Council. In the neighboring land, the gnomes were having a bit of a skirmish over who held a particularly valuable piece of land on our border. Jamna's family thought they had claim to it but the Raulnors were also staking claim. Now my father was known to be fair in politics, which is why I assumed she came to him. But I was being groomed to take his place soon so he included me in the decision. I knew of the Gleamsilvers as well as the Raulnors, more specifically Warryn Raulnor. I knew that Warryn would be the more powerful ally and the land in question was directly connected to ours. It was my voice that Eglerion heard that day, not hers, and ultimately my father sided with me, That decision, it seems, is coming back to haunt me."

Pike listens thoughtfully, then looks at you, Soleil, compassionately even in her weakened state.

"Trust me. You can drive yourself crazy thinking about what might have been. It's better to focus on what is...And I can tell you that I've been down here since they took me. I can tell you with all certainty that they knew about this entrance as much as you did. No...When they were dragging me down here I caught a glimpse of a teleportation circle. If I had to wager, I'd say that's how they escaped. But please. There will be time to discuss this later. I am growing increasingly light headed and I fear that any longer and I may be in dire straits."

Soleil Moonshadow

Soleil smiles genuinely at Pike, shoving herself off of the wall and closes the distance towards the ladder.

"Thank you, Pike. The one comfort I have right now is the fact that we were able to find you in time. I know Castellan is going to be relieved to know you weren't a willing participant in all of this. Now this is going to be difficult getting Pike up the ladder, so I suggest I go up first, followed by Ulric and Pike, then Jareth. That way Ulric can pass her off to me once I get to the top and Jareth can make sure there's enough balance and strength behind them. Not that I think you're weak, Ulric, I just want to make sure nothing else happens to her and it's going to be an awkward climb."

She begins to climb, not waiting on a reply, knowing that the more time passes the weaker Pike is getting.
