Sir Ulric

"Before we go any further..."

He sets Pike down and kneels beside her, reaching with his left hand for his stag symbol and placing his right hand over her wound. Both his eyes and the stag glow blue as he offers up his healing to the gnome.

Lay On Hands: +6 hp

He sighs as the spell completes, watching for any obvious signs of healing.

"I am sorry, Pike. I can only repay a fraction of the kindness you showed me when we first met, because I shared that kindness with Jareth during our earlier conflict."

He picks the gnome back up and looks at Soleil, a roguish grin on his face.

"I have carried heavier packs up higher heights with less support while working with my father in the woods, climbing trees. I am confident I will be able to move Pike up the ladder with minimal assistance."

As Ulric touches Pike to restore her health and the divine energy surges from his fingertips, the runes on the collar around her neck glow white momentarily. As this happens, the spell slowly dissipates and has no effect.

Sir Ulric

"Shit."

In a rare moment of Ulric showing off his human side, the curse word hangs heavy in the air as he realizes what happened.

"The runes that have stopped Pike from healing herself are preventing my healing as well. We haven't much time. The manacles need to come off, and fast."

Soleil Moonshadow

Soleil makes a sound in her throat, showing her frustration at the situation and then hooks her feet around the sides of the ladder, sliding down. She goes over to Pike and leans in close.

"Let me take a look and see if we can get her stable enough to get her upstairs, otherwise we've got one potion left that might get her to the medic in the proper."

It takes a few minutes, due to a lack of proper supplies, but you manage to slow the bleeding and bandage the worst of the wounds to a point where you feel comfortable that the stress of being carried up the ladder won't be too much for her to handle.

She does not regain any hp, but she has been stabilized.

As Soleil heads back up the ladder, Ulric cradles Pike in his arms and carefully begins to follow her.

GM Note
This will be resolved in a skill test. In a series of three strength checks, Ulric will progress up the ladder. How he does will depend on his strength tests. He will then hand Pike off to Soleil, who will make a final strength check. Due to Ulric's background, he has advantage on his three checks.

Ulric effortlessly scales the first part of the ladder, not slowed at all by the small gnome cradled in his arms.

While he slows ever so slightly in the second leg, Ulric shows no signs of fatigue as he continues his ascent.

Ulric reaches the top, barely having broken a sweat after carrying Pike in quite the impressive display. At the top, Soleil kneels down to take her from him.

As Ulric hands Pike up to Soleil, she grasps onto the little gnome, but the blood on the bandage has soaked through just a little too much, causing her grip to falter and Pike to slip from her hands. With lightning quick reflexes, Soleil reaches out to try and correct the miscalculation.
