Soleil twists her long, blue braid into an elegant knot then grips her sapphire laden longbow. She looks to the guards as she stiffens her spine. "You heard Castellan and Jareth. To the library, and be ready for anything." She casts a glance back to Jareth and Sir Ulric as she begins to step out of the threshold. "Come, our fate awaits us. I don't know about you two, but I'm eager for answers and my vengeance." |

Ulric checks his gear, making sure everything is in place. He takes one brief look back at Rodric's lifeless body and smiles to himself before turning to Soleil. "Be careful, siha, should vengeance blind you to your surroundings. You are no longer in this alone." |

You step from the office, two guards as your escorts, and you notice immediately upon leaving that the oppressiveness that you felt earlier is dissipating. People are beginning to emerge one more and you notice that, for the first time since you have been here, it seems like they feel hope -- as if the hold that Rath Modar had over this keep was slipping. As you walk towards the library, you start to realize that the escorts were almost not needed. The townsfolk even look to be regarding you, not with distrust, but with a light in their eyes belying the fact that they truly had no clue what was taking place in the governor's office. You walk through the halls at a methodical, but hurried pace, making sure to keep your eyes out, but still keeping up pace. You finally reach the library after a few minutes of walking and notice that the door is slightly ajar. What do you want to do? |

Soleil looks at the door as she readies her longbow. She invokes the Crimson Rite and turns to Jareth and Ulric. "If Castellan is right, then we're right on top of them. Are you ready?" |

One of the guards looks at you. "I think I heard something coming from down the hall. You three check in here. We'll go further down and see what we can see!" Before waiting for acknowledgement, the two guards ready their spears and swords and charge down the hallway towards whatever sound it was that they heard. While they charge off, Jareth nudges the door open slowly into the room, carefully walking into the library. You immediately see the open trap door in front of you as you slowly walk into the massive room. Perception Checks Jareth: [result]5&5,1d20,0,5&1d20[/result]-1 Sir Ulric: [result]5&5,1d20,0,5&1d20[/result]-1 Soleil: [result]19&15,1d20,4,19&1d20+4[/result] Soleil - You see a flash of red out of the corner of your eye, turning just in time to see the red-cloaked figure readying a dagger to throw at an oblivious Jareth. The dagger leaves the cloaked figure's fingertips just as the words escape Soleil's mouth. Not even a moment later, the flaming arrow leaves her bow string, flying towards the man dressed in red. Jareth Dexterity Save [result]11&10,1d20,1,11&1d20+1[/result] Jareth is just a fraction too slow in responding, as the dagger flies true, sinking into his shoulder and dealing [result]4&1,1d4,3,4&1d4+3[/result] piercing damage to the young prince. He reaches to grab the dagger, but it suddenly disappears from his shoulder, reappearing back on the belt of the cloaked figure. While this is happening, Soleil's arrow strikes true, driving into his side and dealing the cloaked figure [result]15&8,1d8,3,11|4,1d4,0,4&1d8+3+1d4[/result] piercing damage. He snaps off the arrow in his arm and, for his bonus attack action, he flips another dagger at Jareth. [result]24&19,1d20,5,24&1d20+5[/result] to hit. The dagger flies true again, once again striking Jareth, this time embedding itself in its arm, dealing [result]5&2,1d4,3,5&1d4+3[/result] piercing damage before once again disappearing and reappearing back on his belt. Initiative Order 1) Jareth 2) Sir Ulric 3) Azbara Jos 4) Soleil Up Next: Jareth (Also, I failed to note that the big black spot in the middle of the map is the open trap door.)
