When you're out wandering, whether on Terrapin or out on the Desolation, you can't possibly hope to travel from one place to the other in a blink of an eye. Even though the Desolation is huge, Terrapin is still a big place, and to journey from one side to another would take many weeks, if not months, on foot.

When creating a topic in the location you're currently set to, please outline in your posts where you're headed. This can vary from just giving compass directions to naming a certain location. However, if you don't know how to get somewhere, this won't be possible.
An example: If you're travelling from one town to another, and there is a simple road connecting them, you can say 'I'm travelling to X town', and that would suffice. But if you've heard of a treasure and you say 'I'm heading towards the treasure', that would NOT work unless you know exactly where it is. Is it in a cave? In someone's house? Out in the wild? And even if you do know where it is, you won't always find what you're looking for if you don't have the means to find it. A map can help, as can a guide who can show you the way.

Even if you say 'I'm heading to X town', that's not the end of it. You'll be required to outline your journey as you go from A to B, and as time goes on, a Location Monitor (staff position) will occasionally post in your topic to give you a percentage, like 10% or 90%.

This percentage tells you roughly how close you are to leaving the region you're in. If you reached 100%, the Location Monitor would then tell you your findings, and your location will be changed.

If on the other hand you wish to change course to some other place, say so, and the Location Monitors will change the percentage to let you know how close you are to that particular destination.

Be warned - If heading into the unknown without preparation, you won't receive percentages on how close you are. And if you've decided to try to be the first one to brave the harshness of the Desolation and find a new region, don't expect to find anything within a day.
