Missing Individual: Mitchil Description: White female avian Details: This individual has gone missing after apparently being mugged and left for dead in the desert. However, there is a complication that she is a carrier of the HUSK Parasite, and without blood transfusions for a period of time, they will turn into a mindless animal with only a desire for fresh blood. This is very obviously a safety hazard. There is supposedly 2-3 days before she turns. As I am sure many of you are aware, the HUSK Parasite is infectious through contact of blood, so in the case that she has turned feral you will want to be suitably protected. It is important to note that she is wanted alive, regardless of whether or not she has turned, so non-lethal weaponry must be used if you need to engage in combat. Bounty: 25,000 Pixels alive and unturned. If they have turned, then the bounty will drop to 7,500 Pixels and they must be restrained. The MCS will be paying for the bounty, but any further inquiries should go to Vexyll Starlurk. Thank you for reading. |

"...Mitchil." The red Avian frowns softly at the bounty notice. "So that is why Ohtli was producing so much blood. He must be worried sick." Quietly leaving the notice, he'd beam up to his ship and activate the planetary scanner from his console - trying to search for the Avian in this inefficient, but passive fashion. He also goes to actively search for Ohtli. |

Hm, think I saw her once, but that was a long time ago, I think she's a somewhat popular online personality.

PUBLIC MESSAGE: OHTLI RE: URGENT: MISSING PERSON REGISTERED USER: YaotlO1@OldmansInstitute.edu =-=-=-=-= Ohtli Yaotl =-=-=-=-= This will not be a pleasant message. I am ashamed with you all. Yes, ashamed. Ashamed, and disgusted. I have spent over a month here now, and this is the most egregious example of callous, selfish, utter inanity I have seen yet. How dare you all? Truly, how dare you? In case you find my question strange or confusing, let me elaborate. There is a woman out there, alone and dying. She was attacked and mugged. If anyone of you have ever been robbed, you'll know the vulnerability that puts your mind in. You feel unsafe. Many feel violated. For Mitchil, it's even worse, because she is stranded. Read that word again: stranded. Isolated. Missing. Alone in the middle of a desert with nothing but the blistering sands as company. Now, please, answer me a second: which one of you bothered to ever say, "hey, this woman has been hurt, is sick, and is dying from a terrible disease?" How many of you even bothered to consider this is someone's life, because so far, I've seen no one say one thing about RESCUING her. No, you're all too busy worrying about the disease. To you all - to Mayor Johansunsun, to Ms. Vex Starlurk, and to everyone else I had assumed just might actually care about people - this is an outbreak scenario. Mitchil isn't someone who needs help; she's a liability. She's a ticking time bomb, and the clock's running out. She's not a person to you, she's a danger. Here's something else: you all panic over the "biohazard" walking in the wastes, but how many of you have ever shown the same concern for the senseless violence? Not many, I've seen. You fight and slaughter and forget what it means to have a soul. There's danger all around you, but only now does the stigma of disease permeate your minds. What is this? What is this, truly? Is this husk virus somehow more dangerous than the bullets, plasma and lasers that scorch and burn and shred their way through your people daily? It is some horrific, disgusting thing that is somehow worse than the lack of concern for life? I have seen bombs and grenades thrown like candy. Most of you have too, I'm sure. No, though; this is normal. When there's a problem, you shoot it. I suppose I should be thankful whatever ounce of decency left in you all led to an "alive" bounty being placed, at the least. To Mayor Johansunsun, I'm sad to say you've severely disappointed me. One of your people is out there, and you treat them like nuclear waste. God forbid you could have asked people to restrain Mitchil safely, or to bring her back alright. No, your condition is "alive." At this point, I don't even know if you'd feel remorse at her death. What kind of leader is so callous about the life of his subject? To Ms. Vex Starlurk: I am sorry I even mentioned this to you. I had thought you trustworthy, but I was sorely, sorely mistaken. I turned to you because I thought you to have humanity, but as it turns out, you didn't. You only saw the disease, not the person. Your concern was never for the person. I get containment, and I get being safe, but there's a difference between protecting yourself and not caring for others. If any of you see Mitchil out there, for the love of God and Christ Almighty, don't hurt her. Don't attack her with any sort of weapon. If she is turned, capture her somehow, but be careful. Don't avoid hurting her because you could be infected; avoid hurting her because she, just like all of you, is a person. She might have a disease, but she is not the disease. Find whatever shrivelled sense of decency you have left and summon it to bring our lost citizen home. I pray none of you have to ever be in this situation. If you are, I pray people learn from this and treat you better. =-=-=-=-= |

*In reply to Ohtli, this is sent only to him* Ohtli, I never meant to give off an air that I didn't care about Mitchil as a person. It's tragic and horrifying to imagine that she is out there on her own like that. Ohtli, ignoring the fact that I have barely any clue who she is since we have never met, I still dropped everything I was doing to come help you look for her, not just out of concern for her but out of concern for you after I saw the state you were in. I sent the message to Mayor Smokey about the risk of the husk parasites spreading because when it comes down to it I sent the information that would get the largest amount of people to help as quickly as possible. I wouldn't have worded this missing persons report the way Mayor Smokey did, but he did it in an official manner with the best interests of the town as a whole being kept in mind. Nobody would have cared if we hadn't made a big deal of the husk parasite thing because most the people on this planet are uncaring, psychotic murderers. I got injured yesterday because somebody tried to drop two grenades into the bar and the first responding doctor did more damage to me than the grenades by stabbing me in the leg so she could sedate me! I don't even know I'll be able to walk properly for the rest of my life unless I replace my left leg because of how deep the stab wound was. Do you really think there was any other way to convince these people that we need to find her as soon as realistically possible other than telling them the town might get attacked by zombies or something if we don't? I'm sorry I came off as uncaring about your friend Mitchil and I'm almost certain I would react the same way if I was in your position, but don't think even for a second that I didn't care about a live /person/ who has been left for dead out in the middle of nowhere. When you first told me she was out there, I had no idea she was infected with the husk parasite, but did that stop me from trying to help you? No, it didn't. Unlike seemingly a lot of people on this planet, I actually have something called "morals." If you don't want to believe that despite the fact that I stopped to help you, an acquaintance, find your dear friend who I know almost nothing about, then by all means go right ahead, but I stand by my words whether you agree with me or not. Now rather than wasting time bickering about who has the moral high ground, why don't we get back to the important part of finding Mitchil? Best of luck. -Vexyll Starlurk *She didn't see that Mitchil was brought back by the time she wrote this* Edited by Vexyll, Dec 17 2016, 02:13 AM.
