=~= THE SYSTEM =~=

Antari-VII is location of the closest fuel station away from Golden Hollows. Situated in the Kintos system, Antari-VII is the seventh moon of the gas giant Antari. Though mostly barren, the moon developed pockets of algae that produced a suitable atmosphere for habitation. The sprawling city of Antari Port came as a result. The city itself is reminiscent of old European cities, provided these cities were founded in the thirtieth era of human civilization. Streets sprawl like tendrils snaking out from a plant stalk, with countless twists and turns giving way to alleyways, nooks, and crannies. Storefronts crowd the narrow streets of mud and muck while towers of concrete and scrap metal loom over the horizon. This den of debauchery is home to three gangs, a corrupt police force, and a fuel baron in charge of it all. As such, it is the perfect place for smugglers to meet up.

=~= THE FUEL BUSINESS =~=

The fuel station is the most lucrative business found on the planet. It draws in ships far and near, charging a two pixels for gas and knowing people won’t find a better deal elsewhere. Despite these prices, vessels dock to fill their tanks day in and day out at the gloomy station – after all, it is either that, or death once the tank runs dry. The entire business is run by Trifort Cole, owner of Cole Fuels, who bought out the station as soon as it was up. Since then, Cole Fuels has been the rallying cry for the entire settlement. Its ads play constantly throughout the city, and “Cole Fuels” is as much a household term as is anything else. The business employs a vast majority of the settlement’s workforce for its mines and station. Whether the job is filling up a ship tank or guarding fuel deliveries, Cole Fuels is always in need of work.

=~= SMUGGLERS =~=

With the predominant business being erchius, shipping naturally picked up as a result. When the ships began pouring in, businesses that catered to the ships’ needs also arose. Mechanics, repair shops, supply stores, air fresheners – all of it became important to the industry of the settlement. As business met demand for the ships, another venture took off – smuggler dens. Smugglers came from far and wide to this little city to find dealers, deliver cargo, and refuel. Over time, this little city grew and grew as a result. Today, the area is a hallowed ground for smugglers, with infighting, rivalry, and thievery banned as a code of honor. Bar fights between crews might sometimes happen, but it is not common.

=~= THE POLICE =~=

All of the shipping industry resides in the center of town. Inside this are also reside the police headquarters. Antari police are not so much heroes in blue as they are crooks in grey. The police are naught more than armed thugs bribed extensively by Trifort Cole to protect his interests – and, by protecting his interests, they watch out for theirs. Certain crimes magically seem to never be investigated, and certain evidence disappears mysteriously. Anyone caught stepping out of line is lucky to get off with a beating. While all this might seem too cruel to bear for most citizens, it is the thought of those living in the lower districts that keeps people quiet.

=~= THE GANGS =~=

Below the main part of town is the outlying edge known simply as the Outlie. This area, while technically larger in area, is thinner in diameter. Surrounding the port like a ring, this area of the city is home to three separate gangs: the Nova Prime, the Reds, and the Coxwains. The gangs constantly vie for control of the Outlie, fighting in bloody turf wars for the resources and black market trading that goes on there. The police from the Port keep out the gangs, and the gangs never have enough power to take on the police. Meanwhile, the police could never set foot into the Outlie because they would be gunned down by the gangs. As such, there are almost two cities in one – the uneasy order of the Port, and the unbridled chaos of the Outlie. If one wants to get to the black market for less savory connections than the Port offers, one must keep their head down and hope they did not anger one gang by shopping with another.
