Sangmin, you gave a lot of information about how you played the meta part of the game, but didn't really go into that much detail about what strategies you came up with. I view that as sort of the "meat" of the game so if you could go into detail about what you came up with and how those strategies influenced the main matches that would help.

For both of you, I'm most curious about your working partnership. You two are the two I've interacted with probably the least of anyone while I was alive so I don't really know much about how you two operate, but just from far away it appears like you've been duct taped together.

What do you each bring to that duo? What does the other bring? If you had to give a percentage based on how important each of you is, what would it be?

So, we definitely had a pretty close working relationship, but we were both very aware that it was an individual game. The reason our partnership worked so well was we both were independently good at dodging death matches so it wasn't a hassle to always worry about the other.
We made our alliance round 1 and we knew pretty much nothing about the other at that point lol. I suspect that if one of us ended up being more of a burden, we wouldn't have worked together as much.
Near the end game especially it became more like, "I hope you can avoid the death match, but I'm more interested in winning" seeing as at least one of us was in the last 4 death matches. (At least that's how I interpreted it)

I feel like I was the more vocal one and the one who did the organizing and getting other players to our side. (I kind of chuckled when Sangmin posted, "Wait, I'm in an alliance with Doohee? Since when?")
Sangmin was kind of the more restrained one that I could bring up literally any crazy plan and he'd pretend to humor it even if it was terrible. I feel like his role was being the stable rock to my impulsiveness.

I dunno about percentages. That's hard. I do genuinely think I had a slightly more important role than him in our pairing, but I don't really want to say anything negative about him.

Hey Hongchul. I feel bad that I still owe you a garnet. It annoyed me to dickens that I finally got a chance to do something with you without people around and you poofed before I could pay you back!

Jinho and I come off as duct taped because we played almost every round together from Round 1. You're not just seeing things! Even the randomized coin game put us on the same team. It wasn't an accident and I'll talk about that with those meaty hearty strategies there. I gotta think about that duo question because I can tell you why we clicked as two chill dudes easy but I wasn't judging him on his traits you know? He makes a good sounding board and has better eyes then me. I think the big thing for me was he wanted to scheme, make codes and play The Genius just like me and I could trust him to try anything even if it was crazy and could blow up on us. I have a million ideas but not always the courage to make them happen. Gura was as important to me for that too. For wanting to make future plans and not just #ThisRoomAlliance. It's not what I brought to our duo but I knew I was benefitting from a friend who liked me enough to fight for my survival even if he didn't gain from it.

OK you want to know some strategy. I know we've all been doing codes since like 3 days in! The original codes I had with Jinho were awful like letters from Bohemiam Rhapsody bad, yikes. Seeing you all fooling around in statuses I started posting nonsense there then hashed out nonsense with Jinho that signalled what room to start in every Main Match. Like zzzzz meant warehouse. Never reused the same signal twice. Since pairings happened fast and furiously I fully believe making sure I just happened to be where the people were right away so I could do my part was most important!

I'll do a little thing for each main match I feel like mattered for me. If you want exposition I'm good at rambling! Since Jinho's got more words I don't feel bad about flooding. :$

Food Chain!

Fruit Stand!

3-2-1!

Bid Poker!

Fish Game!

Prison Game

Break the Bank

You Will Never Catch The Bomber

Sweet that only took five hours. :( I like that Jinho thinks I was the stable one. :$ When it came to organizing things with Doohee he's right he was more vocal because I had the same comically unable to find rooms with Doohee problem I had with Hongchul. Doohee was supposed to be a target the round Jinho decided we were allied so my confusion was more an expression of what the heck are you doing Jinho!!! I didn't overpromise myself. I think I picked well since the top 5 were the people I'd spoken to in the game the most. Although factoring in when she went Yeonjoo probably beats Sunggyu. :P That's just how he was.

This wasn't my plan but I did take great pleasure in bullying Jimmy. You know you liked it!

You do know me!

Now I regret that we never actually talked. Oh well.

But in terms of item support, your case isn't really popping out at me. Maybe not good in some ways that you ended up with the one person who you can't really separate yourself from, because nothing is really popping up to say "Look at me, I'm better than Jinho!" Aside from the last game, where I think you did get the drop on him pretty nicely. Is there any reason why you think that your overall meta strategy is better than his?

Jinho, any reason you think your strategy made you more likely to be in this spot as well?

That's why I thought it was worse Jinho won then Jimmy. I can tell you how I'm different from Jimmy! We had much different friends. Well for you you'd probably like Jimmy more then me but I'd win out with other people maybe? It's not something we could control.

That's hard to answer because our early game had the same plans. To find a good alliance and lay low with it? But I stuck with it and he was shopping around more. It's fact that I ended up safer. We both went to two death matches near the end but mine was a pre-arranged deal in the best circumstances and an RNGfest while his were planned attacks. I have a hard time saying it was better when we did the same amount but judging strategies by the results isn't the best practice! Ultimately the best one is going to be the one that makes the most of you happy now.

I'm not sure if my strategy did make it more likely for me to be here tbh. My strategy was more risky I think.
I was more active in talking to people which gave me a bigger presence. And it did seem like big talkers were dropping like flies. I wondered if someone would target me soon too, but I approached each game as a kind of "this could be my last, so I want to have fun with this while I can and try to win this one"
I was confident enough in my strategy game skills that I thought I could win a death match or two, and if I win one strongly it would intimidate people from picking me. (I think a lot of players had that thought this game)

I mean, both me and Sangmin came close to elimination a couple times. It so easily could have been a Gura/Jimmy final 2. I'm not sure how close I or Sangmin was to being in danger beyond the two death matches, so it's hard to judge just how easily we could have come short. (not counting the Jimmy death match. I know how close I was to losing that. :X )

But I stuck with it and he was shopping around more.
I wonder if that's actually how I came across :$ . I tried so hard at the start to limit the long term deals I made with people so I didn't have to betray anyone. I think I still unintentionally hurt a bunch of people who assumed I'd never go against them.
If that's true, then I think I did still play a safer game since I had more allies, but then I also played a more cutthroat game, which I ironically was not trying to play.

I might decide to just embrace it at this point.
