Death Match 9: Twelve Janggi![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Today will be a classic Genius Games Death Match, 12 Janngi ![]() Rules: The goal of the game is to either capture your opponent's King OR have your King survive 1 turn in the back row of your opponent. Each piece can only move 1 space in the directions listed on the piece. Those pieces are as follows: The General: He can move one space up, down, left, or right. The Minister: He can move one space diagonally. The King: He may move one space in any direction. The Man: He may only move one space forward. However, if it reaches your opponent's territory it becomes a Feudal Lord. The Feudal Lord: This is upgraded from Man and can move one space in any direction except backwards diagonally (but can move 1 space backwards orthogonally). When the game begins, players will alternate taking turns moving one piece at a time. If you take a piece of the opponent's that piece becomes a Captive and goes into your hand. These may then be used as your own piece starting on your next turn. You must use a turn to place a Captive and you cannot place it in a square that is occupied by another piece OR in your opponent's territory (their colored squares). If you capture an opponent's Feudal Lord it must be played as a Man. Submission: When it is your turn you will submit the board with your change on it in this thread. Your opponent will then have only 5 minutes to make a move. If a player takes longer than 5 minutes they will receive a warning. If this occurs twice, that player will automatically lose. Schedule: This match will be LIVE. Once both of you have filled out the When2meet, we can schedule a time to run this match. |

I'm going to buy Hive post-game! THe pieces are beautiful. They'll also function better then the replicas I cut out of cardboard to practice with. I should post a picture of the Let's Catch The Lion board I made for post-game. |

I had the huge advantage this match. You have a big one match 3. Match 2 could very easily be the deciding game for both of us. |

I'm interested in pirahnna pedro after seeing it play out as well. But you're still going to need to play a real game of Scotland yard after. Not whatever the genius abomination variant was.

Why would I want to play real games when I can play versions where my fuck this game kamikaze strategies actually work?

I would like to see the next game and get an idea of how long it will take? If that's allowed. |

If we do it now, neither of us would have any time to prep for the death match. That could be interesting. |
