When you walk into the room. You pull me close and we start to move
And we're spinning with the stars above. And you lift me up in a wave of love
Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first. We'll make heaven a place on earth

I actually heard about this a while ago. The only thing that gives me even the slightest degree of hope is David Fincher. Beyond that, though... :dafuck:

I may be "willingly ignorant" to what some people say apparently, but I can't @ some people complaining about the original's writing just because the main character doesn't consider taking part in the "Kill For Kill" aspect. The whole point of the movie is that he accidentally agreed to it and needs to not only clear his name but prevent Bruno from killing anyone else. If they were to twist Guy's character into someone who actually considers killing, it would frankly, be idiotic because:

1) He never actually wanted the person Bruno killed DEAD. And he was completely consumed with guilt over her murder. If he considered killing, it would be completely detrimental to his character. So to make that idea make any sense they would have to remove that "guilt" entirely, which would do nothing but make his character seem selfish and hypocritical. Sure not every character has to be a good person in movies, but that doesn't change the fact that Guy would essentially be benefiting from the kill for kill deal with absolutely no remorse and then turn around and try and stop Bruno. Which is simply sloppy writing.

2) The movie already delves into the "blurred" lines of good and evil. Anyone who watched the movie carefully would know this. Hitchcock didn't need to go the cliche route of making Guy consider killing him to present these themes. Both Guy & Bruno have dark/light sides, and thats why Guy's character identifies to Bruno as a person, despite being a killer. Guy doesn't have to become a murderer to show this. That's why Hitchcock is so successful, he doesn't have to go with the most obvious, cliche, predictable route. And if they were to make Guy consider the kill for kill aspect, as the one way to blur the lines between good/bad it'd do nothing but simplify a complicated movie as a whole.

So yeah, I don't know why people are judging others for NOT being excited for this, or even being "reluctant" to get excited for it... purely because they think David Fincher's track record is "flawless" and he couldn't possibly make any mistakes.... I never said this movie would be bad, just that the original film is fantastic and I don't want it to get a crappy remake like Psycho... David is a great director, but that doesn't mean every film of his will be flawless. I'd be saying this about any other Director (Except maybe Stanley Kubrick if he were alive :creep: ).

Plus the fact that this is based off a book... so who's to say David Fincher will really do anything that different? :dead: I don't think people who are arguing the opposing side are really looking at every side of this. They're just blindly screaming "It's David Fincher so it'll be amazing!!!!", and because everyone isn't bowing down to that same ideal they are attacking the original movie as if it wasn't that great. Pathetic. Especially when the same people come for people who are excited for the Poltergeist remake, which honestly has some pretty good people behind it as well... (Sam Raimi, for example).

/end rant.

No lies :poordat: Guy is still morally ambiguous anyways... but he doesn't have to be a murderer to do so :rip:
