![]() Horror fanatic Charley Brewster can't seem to convince anyone of his suspicions that his new neighbor, Jerry Dandridge, is responsible for the recent string of murders in the neighborhood, despite the strange behavior he exhibits behind the scenes. Upon further investigation, Charley comes to the startling realization that not only is Jerry responsible for the deaths, but that he's a vampire, bent on draining the neighborhood of life, unless Charley does something to stop him... Frankly, I didn't know where to post this series, but since Tay posted The Howling in here, I thought it was suitable enough. Needless to say, this is my ALL TIME FAV vampire flick. It blends humor & horror so seamlessly in the modern world (@ the time, anyway) whilst retaining the erotic & violent combination brought upon by Bram Stoker's Dracula that I'd question the sanity of anyone that didn't love this film unless they simply weren't a vamp fan. Even then, it was during the peak of vampire flicks, when the violence was high without being outright grotesque & the effects still manage to stupefy. It appeared on the scene much like The Lost Boys did, deconstructing vampirism before Kevin Williamson could get his grubby hands on it, & it's something I believe more ppl should appreciate even if all the progress has nearly been lost by lackluster efforts that have gone into the genre. If you haven't seen, tho, I don't know why you hate yourself so much. Go pick up a copy & immerse yourself in this little franchise (and considering there are 4 films, I'd say this deserves it's own sub-section, don't you?). Edited by shiley740, Aug 8 2015, 09:42 PM.

This is absolutely one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Literally one of the most fun, crazy, and exciting vampire flicks ever. I also love the remake. <3 This and The Lost Boys duke it out all the time about which is my favorite vampire flick other than the classic Dracula film.

TBH Now that we're mentioning The Lost Boys and Fright Night in the same thread. I wish that someone had got the idea in their head of a crossover between the two. Peter Vincent and The Frog Brothers on a new adventure? I'd have been here for it. |

They might want to remake The Lost Boys 1st & follow-up the "official" remake of this w/ that since the original run went off mark a bit w/ those messy sequels.

I'd literally so be here for it if they get the casting of The Frog Brothers down pat. Like legit, it could be awesome, like really, truly awesome. (Too bad we can't get the band back together today and just pretend Lost Boys 2 & 3 never happened) |

Truth, very much truth. Then again, nothing can be worse than The Lost Boys 2 at least.

Neither did I, but I heard it was actually pretty good, even though nowhere near as good as the first. |
