Within the span of three years, Charley Brewster seems to have put Jerry Dandridge's vampire spree behind him, attending college & getting his priorities straight. That is, however, until the mysterious actress Regine rolls into town, replacing Peter Vincent's famed hosting spot on Fright Night & coincidentally appearing to Charley wherever he turns. Succumbing to her seductive nature, Charley realizes all too late that not only is Regine a vampire, but she's the sister of his deceased arch-nemesis.

I can't for the life of me understand why I used to hate this film as much as I did when I was younger. Maybe I just thought it didn't live up to the greatness of the original, which is fair, since few sequels do, but upon rewatching it several years ago, I found myself digging it. Obvi I still prefer the original & this one borders a bit more on the campy side than its predecessor, but I think it's just as enjoyable as the original. Not only does it raise the stakes by throwing vengeance into the mix, but there isn't just one creature this time around, which perfectly fits in with the show-within-the-films & hints @ there being more that could've been dabbled with had this turned into a major franchise. If you dig the original, I don't think that falls far from the tree, so ofc I recommend it just as easily, even if I'm probably due for a rewatch (much like the remakes).

Ah, fair enough, my unwarranted hatred went deep for some time there. :disgusted:

I hate how you can't watch this anywhere but online. The original Anchor Bay DVD is sourced from a VHS master and is 80 bucks so no thanks.
