Universal has just dropped a lot of information for the upcoming fourth entry in the James Wan-created Insidious franchise. Leigh Whanell, who directed the third film, has been confirmed as the writer and Adam Robitel, who directed the acclaimed The Taking of Deborah Logan will be helming the film, which is locked for an October 20th, 2017 release date. Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and James Wan are all acting as producers.

Confirmed to return is Lin Shaye, who will reprise her role as paranormal investigator Elise Rainer.

Last year, Whanell spoke to We Got This Covered, saying, “That whole area there where Elise has rediscovered her gift, I think you could have a lot of adventures before she arrives. So I think there is a lot of room there.”

Wow, I didn't know the third one's BO was strong enough to warrant a sequel.

Should I use my invisibility to fight crime, or for evil?

Yeah the third one actually made like 45 millions dollars in profit and was the most profitable horror film last year.

When you walk into the room. You pull me close and we start to move
And we're spinning with the stars above. And you lift me up in a wave of love
Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first. We'll make heaven a place on earth

I'm excited yet I don't think I'll watch if Stefanie isn't in it (I doubt she will be). :judgelo:

I MIGHT watch this but at best it will be stretching the limits of even decent. i will have a better time watching the 4th installment in the VG series by Lucifer Valentine

Going by that quote, it looks like they want to make all of these prequels with Elise. Guess they must really regret
