The guy who built this city on Rock and Roll.
Okay, so this thread is going to hopefully act as answer to any questions one would have about the world this roleplay takes place in and what dwells about the land vast Earth. This probably won't be perfect, but this is my attempt to save a friend a lot of work, so I hope this does the trick.

First and foremost, let's address the elephant in the room- Lambdas, these are people given special powers at random after an event that took place in the year 2005. The circumstances surrounding this 'Lambda Event' are a complete enigma, and all attempts to replicate or study it always fall flat. But what is known, is that the max amount of powers one can have before it becomes lethal is two, three is possible, that's pushing it pretty hard and can be expected to shorten the lambda's lifespan.

Apart from Lambdas, there are also those who gained their lambda powers from unnatural means, and by that I mean they didn't gain a power from the event, but gained a power from scientific experimentation or any other reason aside from the Lambda Event, a person given lambda powers under these circumstances is referred to as a Mu, commonly nothing is different between Mus and Lambdas. But there are cases of Mus having less than appealing drawbacks due to either improper application of the modification, or just bad luck. On top of that, Mus are usually connected to the government and their powers are modified variants of other powers, usually improved. But as stated earlier, such tampering with genetics is asking for bad news a lot of them time.

Now let's distance ourselves from the lambdas scene and take a look at what goes bump in the night, less common than Lambdas and Mus, and rarely seen, if ever at all. These supernatural beings are usually on par with some lambdas, but less than common, these beings usually have lambda powers of their own, tipping the scales in their favor, usually. Unlike lambdas, these supernatural beings are able to inflict their curse upon lambdas and humans alike, this not something lambdas with similar powers are able to do.

One of the more common supernatural entities are vampires, people who've gained enhanced strength, endurance, durability, and senses at the expense of becoming nocturnal due to the fact that sunlight is extremely painful for them, along with a hunger for blood. The average vampires pretty much don't age like the average human and more or less, are really hard to kill, unless killed by a force other than old age. The average lifespan of Vampires being around 100 years of age. Vampire appear to be extremely vulnerable to fire and stakes to the heart, there are other ways to go about killing a vampire, but burning and/or staking them appears to be the popular and easiest way to do it. Meanwhile, if someone wants to become a vampire, it's seemingly pretty easy. It's just a matter of being bitten or cursed into becoming one.

On the other hand, we have werewolves. Unlike vampires, these beings are more similar to lambdas, as werewolves lack immortality and usually die around 100 years old in age, and are created usually by a curse which is spread via biting. Werewolves in their non-human forms usually overpower vampires and most lambdas, but due to their physical superiority their body is more susceptible to heart strain which is a common cause of death among werewolves. Killing a werewolf isn't an easy task, I'm talking a silver object to the heart (preferably something very sharp) or badly damaging them. This would require you not catching them as a terrifyingly powerful man-dog.

And lastly, and least notably, the Windigos. These things are a bit tricky to describe as there's more than one breed of these monsters, but I'll go over them the best I can. Firstly, we have the diseased variant. These are beings diseased by some manner of higher power for resorting to cannibalism for any reason whatsoever, the diseased lack sentience and are act more like angered beasts, and no matter how strong you are, taking one on in it's habitat is suicide and never ends well, as they're more powerful than the average werewolf or vampire. Luckily, these things never leave the uninhabitable cold, and even then if it does, it looses a significant amount of strength if it does, as these beings need to remain in a cold environment to retain their strength on top of their carnivorous diet.

Secondly, we have the cursed. The origin almost mirrors that of the diseased variant, only difference is that this one can be controlled and works similarly to the werewolf, only instead of a wolf-man you get a monstrous deer-man instead. In their humans forms, the cursed is weaker than both a vampire and werewolf, but once it changes form, overpowering both at once is mere child's play. The Windigos are vastly stronger than other breeds of supernatural beings, however they're near extinct because of their own temper, and after a bloody war waged in the late 1700's to early 1800's, pretty much all the Windigos are all dead or in hiding, their numbers are heavily dwindling below the 10's.

Killing a Windigo in general is pretty fucking hard, as they're resist to anything that walks the Earth. But continuous fire appears to be the most and only effective way of killing one of these monsters at the moment. So it's a good thing the only ones that were apart of civilization are all but extinct.
