Noire bit her lip in thought. It was inevitable that this meant the start of something big. "Yes," she replied matter-of-factly. "At least, something had better happen here soon, I'm crawling out of my skin it's so boring." Noire looked down at her expensive shoes, which caught the light perfectly to shine a deep, almost black, green. "What would you do?" she asked finally, her eyes returning to his, "What would you do if there were?" |

I dunno what I'd do, John admitted. I'd wanna be involved somehow, he said after thinking about it. I'm not saying I want to be the attacker, or the victim, but I do want in on it. I'm just as bored as you are, a change of pace would be fun. What about you, though? What would you do? he added as an afterthought. |

Noire leaned the back of her head against the stone wall, tilting her chin up a bit in thought. What would she do? She had spent most of her youth passively observing the goings on at the Ministry, hearing her father and mother bickering about their different blood. She had grown up hearing her father speak of the revolution, but had never considered that it might happen again, while she was at school. "I'd rid this school of those that weren't worthy to be in it," the girl said mysteriously, her voice low, "I'd make sure that the wizarding world was cleansed." Noire knew that her views weren't shared by a majority of the school, but she hoped she'd find a comrade in Reno. |

Oh really? John asked, intrigued. So this girl would join the revolution, if it came? Interesting. Anyone in mind? he asked out of curiosity. Also, he wanted to make sure he wasn't on the list- that wouldn't be good. |

Noire shrugged with a nonchalant expression. She hadn't started making any type of list yet - she just knew that there were improvements to be made in the school. The girl glanced at her delicate, silver watch and sighed. "If I'm late for class it won't be pretty - the professor already has it in for me," she explained with a roll of her dark eyes. "But hopefully we can continue this conversation at another time, yes?" Before Reno could answer, Noire turned on a heel and strode gracefully down the corridor, her mind stirring their conversation about as she headed to class. |

Matt walked down the dungeon corridor on his way to the Slytherin Common room. After an uneventful day in classes he felt that he didn't really want to do anything but lay about the common room for the remainder of the day. He wondered where Marissa was, and made a note to go and find her tomorrow. |

Caleb came walking briskly from the common room and down the corridor. He was in a rush to get to the owlry and send an urgent message. He couldn't believe it had taken this long. It should have been done by now and if he couldn't figure it out soon she would have his head. As he walked he read over the parchment that he was on his way to send. He had to make sure that it conveyed exactly the right message and tone. As he did so however he didn't quite see where he was going or the boy that was coming down the hall towards him. When they collided it came as a shock and Caleb dropped his parchment. His eyes leapt from the boy to the floor and back searching for the piece of parchment as well as eying the cause of his delay. You have some dificulty seeing where your going in these dim passages boy? Or perhaps your just a little dim yourself... He saw his pasrchment suddenly and went to pick it up. as he leaned over he eyed a book that the boy had dropped in their collision. An ancient runes book lay on the floor and he took the parchment in his hand and stood slowly now eyeing the boy again. Sorry, I overreacted... I was just in a rush and lost my temper. He reached down and collected the boys books and handed them to him, all but the ancient runes book. That one he held in his hand. You like ancient runes? I was never very good at the subject myself. Sorry.... He handed the book back to him and extended his hand. My name is Caleb Hamels |

He was walking down the hall and all of a sudden another person ran into Matt. His books scattered as well as whatever the other guy was carrying. Matt got up and heard what he now saw was an older boy snapping at him and Matt shook his head clearly amused with the situation. Did the guy really think that Matt would just move out of his way? Matt hoped the guy had enough sense to watch where he was going, clearly he didn't. Just before Matt was about to respond to his question about being dim witted, he noticed a change in the boy's attitude and tone of voice. Matt watched as his new acquaintance picked up Matt's books and handed them to him, all but his Ancient Runes book. A curious expression formed on Matt's face and he found himself contemplating what the boy's motives were for changing his tone all of a sudden. He heard the question of whether Matt liked ancient runes and he scoffed slightly. "The term 'like' could be used loosely," he said, "I don't exactly like any subject in this place called school, but Runes tends to be something I excel at so I do tolerate it a bit more than the rest. My name is Matt, can't say it is a pleasure to meet you Caleb, but I've met you nonetheless" |

Caleb listened to the boy and found that he was arrogant and rude he never let his smile fade however instead nodding a little. excell? really? now that is interesting. You see, I have found myself in a bit of a bind. I could really use the help of someone who excelled at the subject... Speaking this way was tearing him up inside. He wanted to tell the boy to do what he said otr he would cut out one of his eyes... but it was still too early for that. In time students would know to stay out of his way, they would do as he wished without asking and fear his temper... but until then he would have to be cordial. He noticed the boys slytherin robes and smiled a little. I see your in slytherin, Im prefect... having a friend like me could benifit you down the road. I can be very persuasive with the professors of this school. If you were to ever get into trouble or need anything... I would be willing to help if you would be willing to help me with my problem... besides as you said, you excelled at the subject Im sure it would be no challenge for you at all.... He smiled again and awaited his response. |

Matt stood and listened to Caleb talk, he noticed mostly how Caleb kept up with the pleasantries. Caleb made good points, prefects did hold some sort of power within the school and if he was as persuasive as he said he was then Matt would never have to worry about getting detention. Everything seemed to be in order and everything seemed like a good idea, but looks can be deceiving not that it really mattered Matt wasn't in any danger at least not at the moment. He nodded as Caleb said h e needed someone good at runes for a project, Matt didn't mind helping a prefect if he would in turn get protection. "Alright," he said, what is it you need me to do, since you're not good at runes." |

Calebs smile flourished and he crumpled the parchment in his hand and stuffed it needlessly into his pocket. Well you see theres this puzzle I've been working on you see the idea is that there is a set of three runes, but they only gave me two. Now Im so terrible at the subject that I couldn't even figure out what the first two are. But im sure that if you figure out what the first to runes are, filling in the set would be a cinch, seeing as you excell at the subject. He smiled but let it fade a little as he pondered the next piece of information. There is one other thing... you see its not as innocent as I may have lead you to believe. I have a small wager riding on it.... and if I haven't completed it by winter break when I get home... well... you see my predicament. It would be much appreciated if you could find your way to getting around to it before then. He reached into another pocket and withdrew a book. on the cover there was no writing or claim of authorship. Just simply the picture of the jaw bones of a largetotthed animal in side of which were the many skelitons of humans. He opened the book and carefully took out a piece of loose leaf parchment. On it were carefully drawn the pictures of the first two runes. He smiled and handed them to Matt. |

Matt nodded as Caleb explained the situation, puzzles weren't very fun for him but he was pretty decent at them, you often had to be at Ancient Runes. They gave you problems like this all the time translate a number of runes to figure out what the missing one was. He took the parchment that Caleb handed to him. He'd never seen these two runes before, it would take some researching and he rolled his eyes at the thought. He hated the library, but it seemed he would need to venture into uncharted territory to solve this. He then heard the time constraint and groaned a bit, now not only did he have to solve a puzzle but he had to do it within a specific time. "Alright I'll do it," he said, then thought of something that might help him, "but do you think you could get me access to the restricted section of the library? I have a feeling about these runes that they belong to something I wont be able to find in the normal section." |

Caleb shrugged. He couldn't think of any reason why he wouldn't be able to get access to the restricted section. And at the end of the day if he couldn't get him legitamite access, there were always other ways. I don't see why not. Ill ask Byfleet, Im sure he wont mind. Access is always given on limited basis though so youll only have a certain amount of time to find what youll need. I'll get you as much as I can. But between now and when It's granted see if theres anyway that you can narrow your search so that you can utelize the time in the best way possible. He closed the book in his hands and returned it to his pocket. He smiled a little thinking that this student could be useful in the future if he suceeded in this task. For now however he pushed it from his mind and looked from the parchment in matts hand back up to him. Is there anything else youll need? |

Again Matt nodded though he didn't much like the time limits that were being placed on him. It's not that he couldn't handle the pressure, in all actuality he was fine under pressure, he just didn't like time limits they constrained things and only allowed you to get so much done. He folded the paper up and stuck it in his bag, he still planned on laying about the common room for the rest of the day, he'd get started on this little project in due time. Matt shook his head when he was asked if he would need anything else. "Nope," he said, "protection from professors, and access to the restricted section is all I need....for now." |

Miley had an aweful day, having stumbled into a professor and gotten detention for the millionth time this year. But no one ever found out why she got in trouble so much. She never really knew why, but as she walked down the corridors heading towards the dungeons she had a lot on her mind. Looking to the side she had seen a spider crawling up the wall. She picked it up and put it on the nearest door. Like ussual she like scaring people. She came to a stop ahead when she saw to boys in front of her, they were conversating with each other of course. And like ussual she didn't want to bother no one because she was not a very social person. She tried to pass them but something got her attention and she bumped into one of the boys. Happen to be the really dark brown haired one that she kind of eyed at before she bumped into him. "Sorry." She mumbled through her lips and crouched to the floor to pick up her books that she was carrying. Miley didn't really care like ussual for anyone except herself. But as she saw the boy was from her house she decided to say something even though she mumbled it. |
