Lily made her way from the Burrow after leaving the attic. She'd stopped by her room and grabbed a quill and some parchment. She figured she'd write, possibly a letter or just some random thoughts. Either way she figured she'd write. She made her way over to the orchard where the family held the annual family quidditch matches. The orchard was actually the perfect place since the trees were high. Random muggles wouldn't know what was going on.

She made her way over by a tree with low branches and sat under it leaning her back on the bark of the tree. She moved her long red hair to one side of her head and looked out into the distance as she put the tip of the quill between her teeth. 'Hmmmm', she thought for only a split second then began writing.

Hermione wandered out around the orchard. She was depressed because it looked like Ron would be stuck at work for most of the summer. The burrow just wasn't the same without him. She sighed and found a seat under a nearby tree. This place was wonderful to come and think quietly. Looking over at another tree near her, she saw her neice, Lily, sitting on one of the lower branches. "Hey Lily!" she called. "What are you up to?"

Lily covered up her parchment rather quickly as her Aunt Hermione called over to her. She sat the parchment behind her and smiled as she waved over and answered. "Oh hi Aunt Hermione! I'm just out here enjoying the weather!", she said as she continued to smile.

Hermione watched the young girl stuff a piece of paper behind her and said, "It's it really beautiful out here, isn't it?" She now really wanted to know what was on the paper. Hermione always had a strong curiousity, but she didn't often pry. Two very contradicting traits that drove her insane. She took in the scene around her, taking deep, clean breaths in before exhaling through her mouth. She turned back to Lily and asked curiously, "Why aren't you inside with your family?"

Lily simply sighed and slouched leaning back against the bark of the tree again after hearing her Aunt's question as to why she wasn't inside with the rest of the family. "I just needed some fresh air I guess. You know with the Burrow being as crowded as it is", she said. She really just needed to get out and away from her older brother James.

Hermione laughed. "Yes, I certianly do." she repiled. She knew all too well how busy the Burrow got, especially when everyone was home for the summer, over joyed to finally be away from school or work. Well, not everyone... The thought brought her depression back. Wasn't it enough that she barely got to see Ron during the year with his work keeping him away all the time? Now, he wasn't home for the summer. Technically, this isn't our home. We have a house were we've raised our childern and lived together for the last 20 odd years. But, this will always be "home", I believe, for all of us. She sighed and gazed off into the distance moodily.

Lily noticed the sudden change in her Aunt's facial expression and she looked to her concerned. "Is everything alright Aunt Hermione?", she asked hoping nothing was terribly wrong.

Hermione looked back at Lily. "No, not really..." she replied. Turning so that she was facing her neice, she said "Your Uncle Ronald got held up at work again, and now it looks like he won't be here at all this summer. I hardly get to see him during the year as is...." She was glad she got along with Lily so well. She loved Ginny and Harry's only little girl, although she wasn't so little anymore, and had always seemed to be able to talk with her. To a point, that is... she thought.
